This is the going to be one of the worst #1-#2 in terms of talent and quality in a while.

I think Leicester will try and make it entertaining, but obviously, we will do our best to make it a slow/passing game, which will reduce the entertainment value.
I actually believe that the game will be entertaining, but only time will tell.

Frustrating. Seems as though we've played a make shift back 4 (or 5) consistently under LVG.

So one team is a fan favourite, and will play explosive attacking football with pace, power and passion, and the other will try and limit their chances and become hard to beat.

Only, United are not the fan favourites.

That's basically how I see it, too.
Is this the definition of negative football?

Feels like any bit of cover we have is injured. Probably line up like:

    De Gea
    Young Smalling Blind Darmian
    Schneiderin Schweinsteiger
    Rooney Mata
    Martial Memphis
Basically Fellaini is the one player in the senior squad who isn't injured. Pereira after him. Let's hope people come back soon with the winter period coming in a month. We'll need to start rotating a bit.

I refuse to believe that Leicester are actually good, what they've done so far is an anomaly, and what Vardy has done is certainly an anomaly. They're going to come back down to Earth at some point here, hopefully this weekend is the beginning.

I expect a United win and I expect us to keep Vardy off the score sheet.

Does that mean you want Darmian at left back, while Young is right back?

    What will the bench be?
Romero, McNair, CBJ, Fellaini, Pereira, Goss, Rashford?
    That depth.

This sucks with all the injuries
if we go 3 at the back:

    deGea
    McNair Smalling Blind
    Darmian Schneiderlin Schweinsteiger Young
    Mata
    Rooney Martial

    Subs: Fellaini, Pereira, Memphis

Thats a blow if Rojo/Lingard are out....

    Reckon I'd play

    ---------------------------DDG-------------------------
    Darmian--------Smalling-----Blind------------Young
    ------------------Schweini----Schneiderlein----------
    Memphis--------------Mata----------------Periera
    ----------------------------Martial--------------------

no chance of that though.....could maybe use Borthwick Jackson or McNair and no way he will not play Rooney

Does that mean you want Darmian at left back, while Young is right back?
Would much rather that then Young at left back up against Mahrez. Young is more experienced at right back then left back, and Darmian is better defensively and can play on either side without a problem, so is better equipped to handle Mahrez.

    De Gea
    Darmian--Smalling--Blind--Young
    Schneiderlin--Schweinsteiger
    Mata--Rooney--Memphis
    Martial

subs: Romero, McNair, Tuanzebe, Goss, Pereira, Fellaini, Rashford

This is the same back four & team, bar Carrick, that got destroyed by Arsenal and I really don't want Vardy against Blind but we haven't got much choice.

    If it's a 3 at the back...

    De Gea
    McNair--Smalling--Blind
    Darmian--Schneiderlin--Schweinsteiger--Young
    Mata
    Rooney--Martial

We would do really well to pick up all 3 pts here.

Seems the club has intentionally not revealed the traveling squad to the media.Usually they would know at least which youngsters are with the squad by now.

Busy watching last years game at Leichester. We were sublime in our attacking but oh my, the capitulation was aweful. However horrible referring by Mark Clattenburg. Should never have been a penalty against Rafael.

    Time for pereira

    De Gea
    Darmian--Smalling--Blind--Young
    Schneiderlin--Schweinsteiger
    Mata--Rooney--Pereira
    Memphis

    Subs : Martial , Mcnair, Rashford/Goss !

We have to be ready for this, LVG should stop his cautious football thinking and give freedom to the players.

If there is actually one game where we need some control this is the one. With the way Leicester play, high tempo and pretty much always positive we need to suck the life out of them with controlled possession. With the personnel we have or don't have available I don't expect our strategy to change.

This is a huge game for BFS and Morgan - stamp their authority and gain control. Also a huge game for Smalling who for me is the best CB in the world right now and going up against Vardy will show us exactly where he is at.

    2-1 United!

Logically this should be exactly the game LVG's current tactics were made for. Playing against a team that has gone out and attacked all season while conceding a lot of goals.

So long as our defence doesn't go completely to pot like it did last year we should be ok. Morgan has to get over his horror show in the week as well, him and Schneidy will obv be key.

just a reminded to last year guys.

going gung ho against lecister isn't the best way to play them unless you can outscore them.

    ---------------DDG---------

    Darmian - Jones - Smalling - Blind

    Pereira - Schneiderlin - Schweini

    ----------------Mata----------------

    --------Martial--------Memphis--------

    Would love that.

That would be nice, but as Jones is injured you will have to rethink I'm afraid.:):(

Our style of play suits Leicester, think this will be a bad afternoon and see us losing by two or even three goals given the players we are missing.

Our defence has saved us this season but I don't think they will be able to cope with Vardy and Mahrez and we simply aren't good enough going forward to make the most of Leicester's weak defence.

2-0 Leicester. Smalling won't be able to single-handedly do the business today and De Gea is great, but not great enough to keep out Vardy when he's clean through 7 times!
