How has martial been frustrating. He’s held the ball up well (the only one that can) played some lovely passes and won loads of fouls. Such an annoying agenda against him on this forum.
It's really weird. He was our player of the season last year, top scorer, played well last couple of games and 45 mins into the game you have people saying 'he's always been shite'.

McTominay was caught ball watching again when Barnes took his shot, same happened against Leeds.

We should be two up. That's why I am annoyed with Rashford. He must be a slightly annoying player to play alongside. Hopefully we can score again, but Bruno showing signs of frustration. We have contained them reasonably well, good work by the back three (Maguire's slip was bad luck; Bruno/McT messed up clearing or defending the breaking ball; maybe De Gea could have done better on the shot). Still, Leicester look super dangerous. Easy to sense a possible loss here. But hope against hope I am wrong. Would be an amazing boost to win this game. I would put Cavani on, adds sparkle and smarts up top. I thought Fred played well so far.

I know you said it as a joke but I would much prefer him and Henderson over De Gea.

De Gea is done as a top level goalkeeper- he has too many weaknesses to his game.

We either put more well rounded goalkeepers in their place or aim to recruit other others if players like Henderson dont make it.

As usual our wage structure holds us back from progressing.

De Gea is one of the main reasons our defence doesnt progress as a system. You can see it in corners.

I wasn't joking but over the years the fans on this forum have disrespected him. He's been the most consistent performer over the past 3 seasons.

Leicester put loads of pressure on the ball, six players marking a throw in, but they do leave huge gaps on the opposite side of the pitch. They all go to the ball. We need to look up and find people in that space. When Shaw was trying to take that throw in, all he had to do was throw it backwards and let a defender pass it out wide to James who had half the pitch to himself, nobody was marking him. That is how we scored, because they had everyone going to the ball in that corner and left Rashford all on his own in space. We need to start exploiting these gaps, and move the ball much quicker.

McTominay struggling with injury, will get overran second half. Tielemans and Ndidi are a better central midfield.

I think a draw is as good as it'll get today for us. This team is simply not on it today.

Feck that guy. He ain't the answer to none of our problems, rather a problem himself.
He is the answer. With him we would have some possession here. If you all could put hate behind you (which in some things he deserves), he is our best cm. And he should be in our midfield every game like Bruno is.

The pace of this match would suit Pogba perfectly. Bring him on for Scotty, who just doesn’t look up for it today.

Yea I think he's played well. Could have done better a couple times with his final pass but he's doing well

De Gea poor on Barnes’s goal. Would expect him to regularly save that.

Yup...and the more I see it the worse it is. Why is he planted in the middle of his goal when the shot is taken? He should be a couple steps to his right. Poor positioning. If he shuffles his feet to his right as Barnes goes that way, it's a routine save...

We've played shite, upfront been crap, midfield getting dominated and Bailly scares the shit of of me! Shaw and Fred been half decent and James is just dreadful. This is where Ole NEEDS to make changes but let's see if he has the balls!

Arguably more than half decent, Shaw in particular looks like one of the best on the park. Looks fit, strong, quick, decisive, creates chances, defends well. Very good performance.

Can anyone explain what McTominay was doing for their goal? He's just standing next to Barnes watching him shoot from right outside the box?

Like the pundits are discussing, he's closing down Barnes cutting in onto his favorite right foot. Unfortunately that was a rocket off his left in the end.

That goal was Utd defending and goalkeeping to a tee. Our captain like an elephant on rollerblades, Bruno sloppy, McT and Bailly ball watching and DDG not good at all. Other than that we should have scored more and Leicester not creating anything.

Leicester are a difficult opponent and are a good/great side. So, on face value, to go in at 1-1 is good. But, after taking the lead and after seeing us not take 2 great chances, I'm more than slightly disappointed that we're not winning this game. Should be at least 2-1 up. A large part in their goal was down to our sloppy play at the back, so we gifted them that.

I feel like we could be playing better and we can definitely win this game.
To be fair, our goal involved a fair bit of luck too. Bruno nicked a poor pass by James to the path of Rashford.

Fred + mctominay are keeping us in this game. The best parts of our first half.

McT was great last game but distinctly average in this and that goal was on him for me. ok Bruno lost the ball but there was no danger. The ball ends up at Barnes feet, centrally 25 yds out and MCT is stood 2 yds to his side hand and stands still and just watches without closing down, Barnes shifts the ball left to strike it and then McT wakes up but hes 2 seconds too late. Very poor defending.

The more i see it, the more that is a routine save you see put out for a corner. If you’re a professional goalkeeper, you must be disappointed with that. Bailey blocking his view but he knows where its going and he didn’t get there.

Cavani the hitman and Pogba on for James and McTominay.

    Lindelof off for Tuanzebe.

Go for it. Our right side has been shite. Just kicking the ball out of play.

The take any slightly quiet moment in any game to make out hes awful.

Nervy half. Can't help but feel Rashford needed to put away that chance in the second minute. Their pressing was causing massive problems for us at times. Was very relieved when we scored, a nicely worked goal btw, and I hoped we could push on. We didn't but we weren't bad either. Felt their goal was a bit out of nowhere but it was a close half so there isn't much in it.

Can anyone explain what McTominay was doing for their goal? He's just standing next to Barnes watching him shoot from right outside the box?
Think he expected Barnes to cut back onto his stronger right foot, I don’t think he expected him to have a rocket of a left shot.
I guess he didn’t press quickly as he was worried about getting turned too easily but I the end it looks like a horror error.

you have to say it was a great strike.

Thank God for Fred. His tracking players and following runs has been so important again. Shudder to think what would've happened if pogba had been playing instead

Why did we have no passing option on the left when Bruno lost the ball for there goal? Haven't a clue whether Rashford and Martial are interchanging by design or whether Rashford just fancies playing through the middle, but either way he should have had an option.

What was mct doing for that goal? That was awful. Pressure him and we have 4 men around him and likely win the ball back
What was Maguire and Fernandes doing also? Questionable from de Gea also.

We're the victim of our own doing with that goal, Maguire falling over the ball was the start of it.

I have to assume James is playing to compensate for Lindelof's lack of pace, but it doesn't really work because James is so easily bypassed by full backs. He doesn't seem to know anything about positioning.
He's just such a basic football it's a wonder how he's in the first team at Manchester United. I think that's probably the idea, but he isn't actually capable of taking on defenders. And he's so weak he doesn't do that much defensively either.
