As a Liverpool fan and as someone who isn't a regular poster but more of a lurker on here can I just say I love this site. I mean the level of football discussion provided is fantastic to read but sometimes the utter bitterness and hate  (mostly towards Liverpool, Quelle surprise!) makes me laugh.. But overall I don't go a day without coming on here so thats a credit to the guys who run it etc...

In regards to this match, Well I think it's imperative that Manchester United drop points from a Liverpool point of view because After the last round of matches and more importantly the transfer window I think that We will struggle to get a top 4 place, and you guys are our biggest competitors for top 4. I mean we can get it again, but that's going by the possibility that all our key players don't get injured and Sturridge is as clinical as last season. Even if Sturridge stays fit after he comes back well from his current injury, there's a chance he won't be as clinical as the previous season In terms of his goal scoring exploits and if he doesn't score as many goals as he did last season and even more so, then we will struggle to get top 4 whereas you lot have 3 of the best finishers in World football, i hate to say it but some Liverpool fans are underplaying how fecking important having these 3 strikers is. But we have the solace that Man utd's defence is extremely limited and shaky, despite our defence being that as well we have defenders who are used to the league unlike Rojo, Blind etc..

Anyway this next match against Leicester means a lot because if you guys draw or lose, then It continues to give hope to the other smaller teams who you play that they can take points of you, and that's extremely important because if you guys end up smashing Leicester by 4/5 then the old fear factor will come back which could mean a lot of points being collected and with no champions league that'll be a worry for not only Liverpool but the likes of Arsenal as well (who've looked pretty average so far as well).

Is it too much to ask for us to thrash Leicester by at least 4 goals?:smirk:

There is a feel good factor about the place at the moment and i fully expect the players to be buzzing just as much as us fans.
People are talking about our defence being shaky but we have kept 2 clean sheets in a row and we have yet to field our first choice back line.
For these reasons i am going to predict a 3-1 win with the Foxes scoring first early on in the game.

    DDG

    Rafa
    Evans
    Rojo
    Shaw

    Blind
    Herrera
    Di Maria
    Mata

    Rooney
    Falcao

I'm fully expecting us to win this. Won't be easy, but we should pull through.
Also, lets see how herrera and blind do in a faster game with some pressing.

Should give RAWK a nose, some of the shite on there is unbelievable even with a rivalry like ours.

I can see Falcao starting, but Rooney getting a rest perhaps, I think we will go with:

    DDG
    Rafael Evans Rojo Shaw
    Blind Carrick
    Herrera
    Januzaj_______Di Maria
    Falcao

I think RVP and Rooney will be rested, along with Smalling and it would be nice to see Carrick back and Januzaj get some minutes..

    Rested for what?

Plus Carrick hasn't even returned to first team training yet.

Hopefully we continue the momentum we had defeating QPR.

this will never happen . nobody needs resting , they just had a week rest . we cant drop any more points and we need a run of good results to get confidence back , so automatically best 11 possible every game.this means we don't drop our captain and our best scorer in the last 10 games . carrick and falcao are not ready to start yet . Blackett played every minute till now and shaw was only 45 minutes involved in the reserves (not fit enough for 90 minutes ) . So imo same team as against qpr

Bitter about what exactly? Your world class signings or your championship winning season a few months back?

    ------------------De Gea-------------------
    Rafael-------Evans---Blackett-------Shaw
    -------------------Blind------------------
    ---------Fletcher---------Herrera---------
    -------------------Rooney-------------------
    --------------RVP-------Falcao------------

LVG has got a brilliant problem on his hands concerning picking the teams. Most players are coming back from injury, which makes LVGs job a little difficult. I reckon he'll stick Di Maria on the bench this game, two games now he keeps suffering from cramp and dont wanna risk him to much. Save him for the big games and if needs be an impact player. Mata aswell, in great form, my favorite united player. I think he'll be rested for this game, make the bench and come on in second half at some point if there is some lack of creativity. Shaw will get a run out, has to considering the money united paid for him. Also Falcao to start, he needs a 90 min game to get him gel quicker into the team and get the feel for the premier league football.

    £60 million impact player?

To be fair to Di Maria, he's not had a pre-season, and played 15 minutes of one super cup game.

Look at last season and he rarely completed 90 minutes for Madrid.

His fitness will go up, just needs games.

Hope we starts like this :

    -----------------DeGea-----------------
    Rafael----Evans----Blacket----Rojo
    ---------------Blind-------------------
    ---Herrera-------------Di Maria-----
    -------------Januzaj-----------------
    -----Rooney-------Falcao-----------

Mata on for Januzaj, Persie in for Falcao and Shaw in for Blacket(Rojo moves in the middle)

Cant wait for this game. Hope we continue the trend from last match and builds a momentum before the thougher games starts.
An early goal from Falcao and then keep on going from there. Januzaj proved in the u21s that he deserve a start a would love for him to have a great game and give LVG som more headache before the next matches.

Evans need to start hitting the easy passes, and DeGea should look a bit more focused i hope.

Rested for what? Don't be ridiculous.

Play the same team (except maybe Shaw in for Blackett). Leicester will be a tough test and they have been quite good this season

RVP hasn't looked fully fit, so it was only Rooney, and that's a preference thing, But I'd happily swap round Carrick & Herrera, and exchange Carrick for Rooney alá:
    DDG
    Rafael Evans Rojo Shaw
    Blind Herrera
    Januzaj Rooney Maria
    Falcao

For playing badly so far in RVPs case. Think Januzaj deserves a chance.
You don't get rested for playing badly, you get dropped.

But anyway we should go with our strongest. Falcao in for RvP and possibly Shaw in for Blackett or Rojo.

Apparently we're playing Cardiff in a closed door friendly today so that should probably be more minutes for Falcao, Shaw etc.

Really? Why would you change something that worked so well?
Why would you even think about dropping Mata or Rooney after their performances against QPR?
Falcao coming in for RVP is somewhat more understandable but I'd stick with the latter.

We've had a slow start, there's no room for messing about now. The confidence is back and we need to keep it up.

Dropping Mata for an easier game, where Januzaj should be ample replacement, why? To get Januzaj minutes. Rooney is in that line up and Falcao for RVP makes sense obviously, the changes aren't that drastic, and there is nothing to say that if we replace Mata & RVP with Januzaj & Falcao the team would be worse, you even agreed with 1 out of the 2 changes?

This is not an easier game. Both Chelsea and Arsenal struggled against them. People are underestimating Leicester

    This. Same line up.

I cant remember the last time we did that. Same lineup for successive games.

QPR was the easiest game we'll have all season. Play the same team as last time, no need to change anything as long as those players are performing.

Leicester are much better than QPR, they walked the Championship last season and bought decently.

Be very happy with a good performance and a 1-0.

Why are some of you dropping Mata for Januzaj? The former has scored 8 in 10 whereas the latter came on for a cameo where he proceeded to be selfish and waste chances.

Same team with the only change being Shaw for Blackett and maybe Falcao for RVP depending on how LVG assesses the fitness of each.

    Blackett deserves to play.

I am not understanding why so many people want changes to be made to the front 6? We need to start building momentum and get the confidence flowing. That does not happen by chopping and changing players. Injuries aside , the only change i will agree with or understand is Falcao for RVP. Players need to rest ? For what exactly? 7 days after the QPR game is enough rest, we play again in 6 days time , surely 270 minutes of football in 13 days is not a big ask.
I am by no means saying we have turned a corner or anything of the sort, but we cannot afford to take our foot off the gas. Stick with 4 at the back, stick with our best options in front and give it a go!

I agree on keeping more or less a first 11 for a while. Little changes position wise are no problem like Falco <> RVP or maybe introducing Shaw into United life step by step. I also want so see Januzaj but changes from game to game shouldn't several players in the starting 11 unless there is a midweek game

I'd take a scrappy 1-0 any day. Leicester are a brilliant side, as proven in their games vs Chelsea, Arsenal and Everton. It would be unrealistic to think we can go there and smash them by 4 or 5 goals

Same team, same diamond and i hope they don't wreck us down the flanks. Can't understand people benching Blackett just to accomodate Shaw, he played well so we shouldn't change anything.

United fan here, what did you expect . It is a United forum. The only thing that helped me get over United's shit results was the regular meltdowns on here . There was some RAWKish posts and delusion here, thank feck ye did not win the league.

I have this strange feeling that LVG will want to play Ando....
We are trying to pick up momentum and its a tricky away game. No way Ando will play any part. Start the same midfield and bring on Perreira if we are comfortable. Whats the use in giving him playing time anymore? We are shipping him out at the end of the season anyway.

Like I said, its a feeling. Maybe nothing, but why did he get some playing time in the closed game this week if he doesn't need to get match fit?

And about him being ship out, there is no guarantee that will happen. Besides, the only way Ando will go is when his contract expires. If that is end of the season then by all means good riddens!
