I haven't a fkng clue what the line up is going to be, or who's going to work best in what positions.

I hope we as a fanbase are patient enough to let Amorim figure it out himself also. It's probably going to be trial and error for the first few months and results may suffer as a result.

How many of the injured players do people think could return to the squad on Sunday, reckon 3 is possible (Yoro,Mainoo and Malacia). Not convinced Shaw makes it and unsure whether Martinez will either.

I’m pretty certain Rashford is going to start as striker. And that worries me.

I really hope Amorim doesn’t become another victim of the Rashford axe in the hope of rejuvenating him.

Probably right, however it's up to Rasmus to show he can become a Gyokeres type player with Ruben's coaching then will make spot his own

It's amazing how people don't see how much of a drag Marcus Rashford is to the development of the team.

We've recruited one of the most exciting and sought after young coaches in Europe, and he's no doubt been given instructions from Ineos to waste precious time and energy to try and "get the best" out of Rashford. Because the player is too "high profile" or is on too big a wage to bench or to sell.

God forgive me, but I don't want another 2 month Rashford purple patch. It will only be another mirage, a false dawn. He's incapable of sustaining it, but it would sucker in another manager, who'll end up spending the rest of his tenure trying to recapture the mirage, to the detriment of the team (and his own survival!)

I would be surprised to not see Amad starting for this. Mount and Bruno as the two AM would be too similar imo. Amad brings another dimension to Bruno.

And as far as i heard Amorim prefers his RAM to be left footed.

We have no idea what he has or hasn’t been told about Rashford or any other player in the squad.

Personally I’m going into this new era full of optimism, it baffles me reading these sort of messages shrouded in such negativity.

Let’s just look forward to the first game of the Amorim era and enjoy it, there’s going to be highs and lows, positives and negatives but hopefully it’s the start of something brilliant :)

A paragraph of pure fantasy and make-belief! Good work.

Yoro is 19 years old, has never played for the club and is returning from injury.
He might get a few minutes at the end of the match, but I highly doubt he'll start.

It must also be noted that Yoro is very young (a youth prospect) and defenders typically show good performances from around age 23 onwards. Most will peak at a later age.
At age 19, he is likely to be a liability and I don't think any new manager will rely on him.

The new manager NEEDS to get results immediately and can't afford to experiment with teenage prospects.
You do realise Yoro has been talked about as a generational talent?

He’s literally the best defensive prospect in the world currently.

We didn’t spend the best part of 50 million quid on Yoro to mess around with him until he’s 23.

He’ll be playing a lot of football very, very soon. Whether that’s on Sunday is another question altogether, but it won’t be long.
    It’s a strange post.

I missed the bit about Amorim not playing young players too. Literally disagree with the entire post.

He has hinted that there won’t be many changes from the normal personnel from the last game - realistically how could there be? He has a few days of training with mostly a squad that has been returning from international break.

I reckon Mount might be in, would have said possibility of Malacia and Yoro if they were a bit further along fitness wise so would assume they may be used subs.

A lot depends of when and what state the likes of Garnacho/Ugarte were in after their long haul treks.

Will be interested to see how much more running we see from Rashford tomorrow as he will inevitably start.

Hoping that Amorim will be very vocal/animated on the touchline.

Looking forward to seeing some new shoots of change

Surprised no one has picked Mount to start considering he’s impressed Amorim in training

When did Ruben state that Mason had impressed him in training?

Sounds manufactured to be honest. No one credible is reporting this as far as I see

    Impressive!
@UnitedSofa vindicated by the club app! Fair play chap, you were spot on.

“Mason Mount… I have to tell you I love that kid,” enthused Amorim in conversation with club media on Friday afternoon.

“You can look in his eyes that he wants this so bad. And this is the most important thing for me.

Amazed how little people are acknowledging this when selected teams etc.

He literally didn’t start a single game last year without a left footed AM. Amad is nailed on to start imo.

If I had to guess the line-up, I'd say:

    ----------------------------Onana----------------------------
    -------------Yoro--------Deligt-------Martinez---------
    --------------------Ugarte---Casemiro------------------
    Mazraoui-------------------------------------Rashford
    ----------------------Amad---Bruno----------------------
    -------------------------Hojlund-----------------------------

If I had to guess the line-up, I'd say:

    ----------------------------Onana----------------------------
    -------------Yoro--------Deligt-------Martinez---------
    --------------------Ugarte---Casemiro------------------
    Mazraoui-------------------------------------Rashford
    ----------------------Amad---Bruno----------------------
    -------------------------Hojlund-----------------------------

I think Rashford will start but expect Garnacho or even Dalot on the left, I think Rashford will be in place of either Amad or Hojlund.

The Rashford Axe. Starring Bela Lugosi at number 10

I think there will be some surprising inclusions.

    My prediction:
    Onana
    Mazraoui Evans Martinez
    Dalot Casemiro Ugarte Garnacho
    Amad Bruno
    Rashford

Subs: Yoro, Shaw, Mainoo, Mount, Hojlund

This is a potential banana skin, there’s been a lot of hype built around Amorim this week and Ipswich and McKenna will be right up for spoiling the party after gaining confidence by beating Spurs, plus the whole United connection. Amorim certainly won’t be taking this lightly though, I just hope the players don’t let him down. C’mon Utd!!

Considering the training and player fitness , I can see us lining up like this

    Onana
    Mazraoui De Ligt Licha
    Dalot Case Mainoo Garna
    Mount Bruno
    Rashford

If I had to guess the line-up, I'd say:

    ----------------------------Onana----------------------------
    -------------Yoro--------Deligt-------Martinez---------
    --------------------Ugarte---Casemiro------------------
    Mazraoui-------------------------------------Rashford
    ----------------------Amad---Bruno----------------------
    -------------------------Hojlund-----------------------------

I can't see him playing Rashford at wingback. He's the laziest player we have off the ball. Garnacho works much harder.

For sure Mount is gonna start a player who didnt have a proper kick for so long. Especially in a high intensity game like the first one under the new manager. For sure hes gonna change things drastically rom our last win.

Casemiro might not be the best fit, but hes in decent form with Ugarte building some sort of relation ship, and hes fit, will put in tackles and shift in the build up. They are gonna definitely start together.

In the front its clear with Amad Bruno, and the two other spots based on the profile and last few games Id bet Garnacho and perhaps Hojlund, although I think Zirkzee is more capable player atm.

We are currently in join 3rd place for the best defensive record in the PL this season, based purely on goals conceded.
We are also joint 4th worst team for goals scored.
Only 3 teams have scored less.
Near the top of one performance table and very near the bottom in another.

It's quite clear what needs to be addressed.
How we go about it and get there will be Amorim's priority.
If we can't bang in at least a couple of goals against Ipswich, with their poor defensive record, there's going to be a mountain to climb after next weeks Everton match.
Arsenal and City away coming up !
