Good goal, then we went flat, then we were poor. Back to ambling around at a snails pace. Interesting to see what the manager makes of it.

Fine with the formation, it's created some decent opportunities for us and I think we can get more joy from wide areas.

Midfield duo has been static, and the attackers haven't really offered them many passing options with runs. Bruno struggled to get involved. Don't ever recall seeing the boys press. They don't seem to be arsed about impressing the new boss…

We have a lot of bench options, definitely time to start using them.

I'm sure there any thousands of posts where that's the case.

Probably but it doesn't make your response better in the sense that your post was questionable without having a clue about the specific reference that you had in mind. Which makes your attempt at calling others racist a little bit misplaced.

Anthony Taylor is giving us absolutely nothing this match. Need to win in spite of him.

Awful half, if we're honest. Amorin going down the 'what happens if I don't play a midfield' trap. I don't get it. Eriksen simply cannot play this role, and certainly not next to Casemiro.

I'd wager Dalot has touched the ball more than any of our players, and our performance reflects that.

I thought playing the team in 19th position along with the new manager bounce would make for an easy 3 points
Not when you change the formation and put 3 senior citizens in the team. I expect a better last 30 minutes of the game.

Rashford, Garnacho and Casemiro needs to go at half time all 3 have been piss poor.
What do you suggest the former 2 do? The midfield is being overrun, again, and Dalot keeps punting the ball to no one.
This game is being lost in the midfield with Eriksen and Casemiro being outpaced and outnumbered.

It's been really poor. Which is very understandable.

For me our biggest issue has been progressing the ball from defence to midfield. Outside of a couple of Mazraoui line-breakers it's been really hard work bypassing Ipswich's press.

The midfield have been basically non-existent because of this.

Rashford still playing with far less intensity than you'd like to see from a United player. Garnacho well off it too.

Ugarte and Mainoo for Eriksen and Casemiro. These two can not play against the most energic team in the league.

    Shaw for Evans
    Mainoo for Eriksen
    Ugarte for Casemiro.
    Mount for Garnacho

I think we have quite a lot of players who are not at their ideal position or who are just second choice. It'll obviously get better but we're being outplayed by a glorified championship team.

How the hell did VAR not check the elbow to Jonny Evans face? If that was a United player he'd be off for sure.

Poor first half really. Started strongly but, on balance, Ipswich have been better. They have had the better chances and we are 1-1 because Onana made himself big at point blank range.

I think Amorim may have been slightly too confident with the central midfield set up. Ugarte was doing bits before the international break and I really don't understand why we've gone away, in swirling wind, thinking Eriksen is enough next to Casemiro.

Bruno has been mostly out of the game, which is something we have to change in the second half. We look toothless without him for the most part.

PS) Garnacho needs to up it. Big time. Hogging the ball on the counter put paid to a couple of breaks we need to have made more of.

Left side a problem, no easy width, could see Antony getting a run there even if Amad and Antony as wing backs is asking for trouble defensively. Garnacho not quite in sync with his role, used to picking up the ball in space, this is requiring back to goal work which he lacks awareness for.

As ever legs in midfield are needed, but no need to overreact, 45 mins in a new system after all.

Our inability to keep possession and pass it well is just simply inexcusable. Just even the basic stuff.

Some of these players won’t be able to play this system. This is what the remainder of the season is about.

Evans has also been dreadful. He has hoofed the ball into an Ipswich player far too many times. Seems to panic under their press

Big changes needed for second half, because this is pretty awful. Let’s see what Amorim is made of.
If there's one game in which Amorim will prove his mettle, it's his first match with an inherited squad.

Yeah I don’t see that he has it in his game to be an attacking wing back. He has no composure at all. I’d say his only position should be as 2nd choice RCB.
You think he is defensively trustworthy enough? Can honestly really not see him do more than a make-do (classical?) wingback or box-to-box next to calm and composed CMs. It's not that he's not technical or anything, but just don's see him as reliable in a role where you can't be built around another more composed player. Kind of like how Fred did a job when the other midfielders were composed (so not often), but didn't do so when he was the DM or next to McT or something.

Bring on Hojlund for Rashford and then two players among the CM/ AM positions who can help us keep it and aren't 50

Sub Garnacho off, bring on Hojlund as striker. Move Rashford to the left.

    Sub Eriksen for Ugarte.

I'd swap Mazraoui to LWB and Dalot to RCB too. Both seem uncomfortable in their positions.

Take Garnacho off. Bruno left 10, Amad right 10. Mazraoui RWB. Shaw LCB. Mainoo for Eriksen.

Despite scoring, Rashford doesn't look arsed. I don't know what's wrong with him.
