Is this the one where Darren Fletcher chews through his bonds and stumbles onto the field at Portman Road mouthing stuff about little green men?

You may be right. I forgot Rashford is likely to play up tip. But Garnacho as a LWB is a real headscratcher. Evans covers for Garnacho as LCB. Hmm. Well it is only Ipswich. We will say to our cost.
I think that the four defenders in our back line are the only ones fit to start today which gives us Garnacho at LWB. Amorim has a history of using a mixture of wingers and fullbacks at the wingback positions depending on opposition and what’s needed each game, but has stated that he’s going to lean on fullbacks for that position at the start of his regime for the sake of easing into the transition.

I love how nobody has a clue about the player roles in this formation :D

I mean, we do at least know the formation. Anyone with common sense knows that Amorim is playint 3-4-3/3-4-2-1 based on his interviews this week. It's just the scattering of a few people that are trying to force Amorim's lineup into a 4-2-3-1 because they can't comprehend players playing different roles.

Interesting... doesn't seem a natural fit to me but trust in the new manager.
Dalot played a whole season at LWB on loan at Milan! And did well.

Though I assume your question is for Amad, but I'd assume he's playing far more as a winger than wing back anyway

Yes, Amad, time will tell. I thought he would be the right-sided AM to be honest.

    It's not 4ATB

It's unbelievable the amount of people defaulting to 4-2-3-1. It's so clearly and obviously 3 ATB. We even had the fecking training ground videos showing them lining up in a 3 CB formation. How much clearer do some folks want it made? Everything from the interviews to the actual training footage laid bare that he's doing his own thing.

He'll trust Amad to defend better than Garnacho, so for that Amad plays as RWB I suppose. If we dominate possession then Amad will cause a lot of problems for the Ipswich defense. Only doubt is Amorim saying he will be starting with fullbacks as wingbacks to begin with. Either way we will know soon enough.

Not trying to disrespect, we’ve trained all week with the personnel I mentioned in those positions. It’ll be Evans LCB, De Ligt in the middle, either Dalot/Mazraoui at RCB with the other one as wing back. Garnacho will be LWB.
    in those specific positions?

Hoping for Mazraoui in this position in that case. With their respective composures and skills it wouldn't make sense to me to put Dalot at RCB at all, while at wingback I think Dalot fits more ways (initially) to fill in that role than Mazraoui does, though it does help that Maz played midfield before and is very adaptable.

Though now I see a picture with Diallo RWB and Maz LWB? Evans CCB, De Ligt LCB? Dalot RCB?
Are those pre-match pictures always correct?

I guess it does fit that sort of false playmakers/inverted wingbacks thing he seems to have liked at Sporting.

Amad wt wing back seems a weird fit, but lets see how he plays the role because if he's massively attacking it isn't too dissimilar to a back 4

Dalot will be wing back on the left , Diallo on the right

Eriksen and Casemiro going to hold the defense in center when we are under attack? Would be interesting to see how that will work out.

Yes, Amad, time will tell. I thought he would be the right-sided AM to be honest.
Yeah I still think he will buy maybe just a needs must situation right now with the defensive absences. If Martinez and Shaw were fit I would guess Mazraoui and Dalot would just be the wing backs

Is asking for rivers in DM frowned upon in caf... In a long time I have no access to match?

    Asking for a friend

Rashford at CF has worked maybe 3 times out of 40.

But I that case you have 2/3 attacking players out of natural positions, I mean Rashford and Garnacho. And the player that fits the #10 the most is shifted out wide. That doesn't sound like a good idea. I still think it's different setup.

The fact that they are going through what seems to be training exercises before kick off is not filling me with confidence tbh.. Like reading the book while waiting for your teacher to hand out exams.

Give it a rest. Surely you watch this sport for fun? It can’t be much of a good experience being so negative.
I mean the players are the ones that make people doubt them and what’s fun about watching people not caring about the fans or their team mates?

Half arsing about, not challenging or tracking back? Hopefully they are out to impress so put in the effort but again hopefully Rubin sees through the BS.

Don’t see how anyone having watched this lot over 4 years wouldn’t have doubts.

If what's being said about the shape in warm up is true, then it looks like it is in fact:

    Onana
    Mazraoui De Ligt Evans
    Amad Eriksen Casemiro Dalot
    Garnacho Bruno
    Rashford
A little surprised Amorim opted for Amad at wing back instead of Garnacho, but then I suppose keeping arguably our biggest goal threat in Garnacho closer to goal does make sense. Intrigued to see how Amad does in the wing back role. Way too much pessimism on here about the lineup. I'm excited to see how we play.

It's going to be very attacking when we have the ball that's for sure. The wingbacks push up HIGH.

Why are people surprised at Amad playing wing back over Garnacho, he is much more suited to it because he will work harder and track back which Garnacho isn’t great at.
