Amorim walks out onto the turf.
But wait...that's not Amorim, that's an Amorim rubber mask!
    It can't be...but it is!
The rubber mask is peeled back M:I style to reveal...
Eleven Hag; reborn with the best hair plugs severance can buy.

'The prince of progression is back...and he's pissed off!'
    Vince Russo approves.

The team playing competently would be good enough for me. Being exciting would be a bonus in the first game. If we win I can’t see it being anything more than by one goal.

Dunno if I'm more excited about the match or just to see how he lines the team up.

I'm so intrigued to see how the players adapt to this guys tactics. Will we see hugely improved performances from players we've written off?

Antony at wing back really is the one for me, maybe not but I can see it happening against Bodo on Thursday night.

    Id expect something like

    Onana

    Yoro
    De Ligt
    Martinez (Evans if not fit)

    Dalot
    Casemiro
    Ugarte
    Mazraoui

    Fernandes
Mount (id like to see diallo)

    Hojlund

Wont be an easy game, Ipswich dont often lose too badly, but I expect a big showing from players today. 1-3

Really excited for today’s match! What’s the status on Martinez, precautionary withdrawal from the national team or is he confirmed out?

I’m tempted/hoping to see Bruno and Ugarte at CM with Amad and Mount in the 10’s. Guessing that Rashford gets the nod to prove himself up front since Hojlund seems a bit off at the moment. Rashfords last chance to prove his worth the next 8 months.

    Onana
    Yoro - De Ligt - Martinez/Evans
    Dalot - Bruno - Ugarte - Mazraoui
    Amad - Mount
    Rashford

    So excited for this game.

    Onana

Yoro - De Ligt - Evans

    Amad - Casemiro - Ugarte - Mazraoui

    B.Fernandes - Garnacho

    Rashford
subs: Bayindir, Dalot, Kukonki, Shaw, Mainoo, Mount, Eriksen, Antony, Hojlund

score prediction: Ipswich Town 0-3 Manchester United
    Love, nay love this confidence.

If we win 5-0 it means nothing
If we lose 0-1 it means nothing.

Its the first game of an in-season management change. There is little to be read into it. Watch the Football YT grifters do their best though.
I choose to disagree with the first option and agree with the second. :)

I’m almost afraid to say it, but I’m excited about today.

It’s also interesting in that it’s Amorim’s first match & it’s “who we got” vs. one of the Caf’s top options for the job not too long ago

    Onana
    Yoro De Ligt Martinez
    Dalot Casemiro Ugarte Mazraoui
    Amad Bruno
    Rashford

Is my guess. Amorim said he'd do fullbacks in at wing back to start as it's easier to teach. Mainoo, Malacia, Shaw, mount all returning from injury so doubt they'll be in, Garnacho probably the odd man out to start but will be an impact sub.

Because it’s been a very bad omen for the past decade being excited before a match. For me anyways. On pins and needles with a weird sense of excitement
People aren't excited specifically about the match though. It's the change.

Think many people expect (Ruben said it himself) we will have to suffer at times before we get better

Surprisingly I have butterflies in my stomach.
But it is very early days and we need to patient, both with our new coach as well as the players who will take a bit of time to respond to the changes he needs to make.

Haven't looked forward to a United match this much since the Carling cup final against Newcastle. Feels like the start of a new season for some reason.

I'm honestly not that fussed about the result (even if losing to Ipswitch on Ruben's debut would be bloody embarrassing), I just want to see us have a game plan and play players in positions they're comfortable in. I know that's a low bar, but got to be realistic.

Weird, was just thinking that would be the only scoreline to guarantee no negativity post match...
They’ll probably still be some negativity with that scoreline.

Not sure we’ll see players play in positions there comfortable in but I think Amorim will eventually make them comfortable in the roles he wants them to play. The main roles being the wing backs. That’s probably the most interesting position in our team now. Also the 2 10s behind the ST.

Yoro is returning from injury, too. It'd be nice to see him start, but it could be a risk just throwing him in, especially as he's not played a competitive game for us this season.
