Use this as motivation to drive on and kill the game off in the second, don't go out playing how we were playing because we're just asking for trouble. Mentally, we better not fall apart more now.

Mata scores >Var decision - was offside

    those lines though

That line showing Mata's position vs last defender is so off the mark. It's a straight line, but not one that is perpendicular to the sideline. It's like amateur hour

Football is all about big decisions and getting luck and bad luck not waiting whilst 3 old blokes in London struggle with angles and knee caps!

Technology will be right again - technically he's probably a baw hair off. Does anyone care though? Did we all enjoy the minute of nothing? The lack of explanation?

It's a shite idea, and the whole thought should be scrapped. It's a game played be humans, and judged by humans, and that#'s the end of it. This video shite is clearly a load of bollocks nobody wants.

Did you ask every single person on earth? Is that how it's so clear to you?

I understand everyone is mad because it was our goal but imagine if Huddersfield had scored the exact same goal in the 90th minute against us. It might take a minute but it makes the game more fair.

    Looks onside to me.
Mata's knee is slightly ahread for me, but we are talking a rats dick.

I think he was offside by millimetres, it was the knee.

This doesn't exactly give me much hope for the technology, though...

We didn't deserve a second goal anyway, but this whole situation was embarrassing. Give VAR a time limit of 30 seconds maximum and go with the original decision if it can't be determined fast enough. A fecking disgrace that was.

I never wanted VAR anyway, nor do I think it's needed. I understand they're trialling it but you would think it would be much slicker than what we're seeing. It just looks so amateurish.

Pisses me off they’re using this at this stage in the season in such a prestigious competition and they are just guessing with inconclusive technology. Completely ruined the flow and occasion in our game with West Brom.

Are you actually reading the thread?
I am mate, while some may take their moaning about our play way over the top, in this game it is largely warranted.
Then you have folks coming in and telling them how how bad of a fan they are for stating the obvious, every criticism is agender seeking according to them.

They genuinely used lines drawn using MS paint in an FA cup match.

The lines weren't even correct, they weren't flowing correctly with the offset of the camera.

That is an actually scandalous decision, if we don't win this the game should be replayed IMO

Whatever happened to an "OBVIOUSLY INCORRECT DECISION"

WHY ARE THEY NOT ASKING THEIR FECKING REF IN A BOX LIKE THEY DID 1000X WITH THE SMALLING HAND BALL

    aarhsarhahshhgshghsafhashfhaf.

Every time VAR is used it looks bollocks.

People seem to blame VAR as if it it were a person.

It was created by people, for usage by people. Don’t blame the machine, blame the people using it.

I still think it’s being made to purposely look crap in all honesty. I think Mata was just off, but those MS paint lines on the screen were embarrassing, surely they’ve got a proper system in place to draw parallel lines across the pitch.

Wow he was 1 milimeter offside, thank god for VAR ha?

    Shit idea. Ruins football.

VAR has been implemented so badly that it needs to be revoked immediately.

So far it’s conclusive that VAR has not helped - it’s merely added to the stresses of refereeing.

The principle is fine, but the system we have is simply shit.

God save the queen  That's some quality British technology. Are you fecking kidding me? Mata's knee was aligned with the defender's knee. Holy fecking shit. Are they going to be looking at a molecular level next? That was way to close to overrule the goal. What happened with striker gets the benefit in tight situations? What a farce.

Of course, with this result, Mourinho won't do any sub immediately, but Lingard on for Matić, allowing some rest, would help us, I think.

That line showing Mata's position vs last defender is so off the mark. It's a straight line, but not one that is perpendicular to the sideline. It's like amateur hour
Absolutely- it should be parallel to the box

Typical when United goal gets looked out the wonky etchasketch lines come out.

I think he was offside by millimetres, it was the knee.

This doesn't exactly give me much hope for the technology, though...

Those lines are not even parallel to grass cut lines and penalty box line

VAR doesn't look good so far.
