Happy with the team, rotation can be left for Spurs. Let's make qualification as close to a certainty as possible like Chelsea did last night.

    Bit of an over-reaction mate

How so? He is clearly injured, and has been since the first half of the season. Hell, he just limped off this weekend, and he is back starting today for a game that shouldn't be too hard for the team. All these decisions catch up to players.

People seriously need to shut the feck up about Rashford playing. He's deemed fit to play.

After the shalacking we got early in the season, you think Ole is going to take that game lightly?

Every Europa League game there seems to be plenty with an attitude of 'get the game finished early and make subs'.

That's really downplaying the competency levels of our opponents. How often in the PL, even against teams near the bottom, do we get games sown up early?

The Europa League, especially by the knockout stage, has either the best teams from smaller leagues (who've knocked out the likes of Tottenham, Leicester and Rangers so far); or, like us, teams from the top leagues who aren't currently good enough to still be competing in the CL.

These are all competent teams, who've reached these later stages of Europe. Yes, we should be good enough to win this tie over two legs, but we should no more be guaranteed of coasting to victory against 9th in La Liga any more than against the likes of Villa, Palace, Southampton, etc. Hopefully we'll do what we did against Leeds and Sociedad, but they're very much exceptions rather than the norm.

You don't think calling the manager a dickhead because you don't agree with the team selection is an overreaction?
    Ok.

If Rashford is starting we are going to come out on all cylinders looking to blow them away in the first 30, then get 5 subs in and see out the rest of the 150 minutes with the squad.

I'd say he's looking to wrap it up in the first half if he can and then start taking a few off for the weekend.

Do you think Grenada will just roll over for us to do this?
Also, we are a 2nd half team - this has been proven beyond doubt. So, most likely we'll put the game to bed in the 2nd half.

I think the 5 subs is a factor as well.

Ideally we'll get Bruno Rashford Shaw Lindelof Pogba off... For the last 3 minutes.

Last time Rashford was injured, Ole played him anyway. Ended up with a season ending double back fracture. So while he may not get a new body, giving his current body time to heal isnt exactly a deal breaker is it? If not for covid, Rashford would have missed the rest of the season and the euros.

Players will always say "Im ready to play". The key to being a good boss is knowing when thats true and when its just the player being too eager to get back into it.
What would be the point in resting a player when a week or two of rest, even a month, would do virtually nothing to improve his condition?

No need for Rashford to be starting here, really dodgy decision from Ole.

Rotation doesn't mean the Spurs game is to be taken lightly. Just that on a priority list, this game comes first. The players and Ole know that. That's why our best players are starting this game.

Rashford's career has Michael Owen written all over it. This fecking dickhead Ole.
I get Owen is a meme because he's such a tool but people forget how good he was. I'd bite your hand off for Rashford to have Owen's career, the guy won the Ballon D'Or.

Rashford is less than a season away from matching his total Liverpool apps and is like 70+ goals behind him.

This team struggled against Molde just lost 3-0 at home to Villlarreal and the most they have ever spent on buying a player is 7m, thats their transfer record. It really is a very easy draw.

This is exactly the kind of team we lose to.

15 minutes till kick off and the matchday thread is already beyond toxic.
A lot of heads need a lot of wobbling.

I don't think it's that many but yeah he'd need something like a goal and a half a game from here on out to catch up.

    For fecking Granada?

For a quarter final of the only competition we have a chance of winning.

Not a chance that rashford is actually ‘injured’ or the doctors wouldnt have signed him off

Can we all just take a moment to appreciate the abstract/soviet-art deco design of Granada' s badge!? Honestly, one of the best designed badges out there (I smell a potential thread....)

    The famous United doctors.

He can be a dickhead. Stating the kid is hurt, and playing him anyways is a dickhead move. Ok.
If this is the first you've heard of players playing through injuries, then how much football do you actually watch? People alot more educational than fans, in state of the art facilities make these divisions on how serious an injury is. Playing through injury is part of the parcel in any professional sport.
