With our current midfield options, a compact, narrow setup with balls in behind for Rashford and Hojlund (Ole ball) is the best we can do.

Not at all surprising Ugarte was dropped given his performances so far. Eriksen's generally done quite well this season but our reliance on him now just hammers home that Ugarte was not the type of midfielder we should have been prioritising. Chance to see if we look any better with Hojlund starting than Zirkzee. Feels like we've reached the point where the performance will be bad regardless of the lineup but hopefully the team will surprise me.

Nah the line up suggests he's going to abandon the high press in the interest of improving results. Fine by me.

What I expect to see is Bruno and Hojlund not engaging the CBs and staying disciplined until we get into a decent mid block. So no pressing in the final 3rd of the pitch unless we're chasing.

I can only think Eric wants an extended holiday and is throwing the game to hope for an early payout.

We are shit in Europe under ETH, confidence is low, and Porto are a good side, especially at home. Anything other than a loss would be a surprise. Copenhagen and Galatasaray caused us a lot of problems and Porto are easily a level if not two above them.
