Spurs game aside I thought we were tightening up a little at last. But that was as bad as anything Ive seen. Need an instant reversal tonight, expect Bruno to score
Mainoo travelled - not selectedIs Mainoo injured then? I assumed he was out for a week or two after leaving the Spurs game early but he was pictured in training in the week so perhaps just not travelled.
Which means every single time Bruno gets the ball he is going to spray a Hollywood pass to no one with his second touch, sometimes his first. Then its back to defending! With our current midfield options, a compact, narrow setup with balls in behind for Rashford and Hojlund (Ole ball) is the best we can do.
I would have rested Martinez too. Not at his best of late. It's actual madness that Bruno is starting. Then again, I'm not surprised.
not really sure i agree with it. Yeah casemiro is back in the lineup but other than that pretty much the same group of players he throws out there to play random footy. That team selection suggests he sees the Villa game as more important. Bad miscalculation if so.
I would be ok with him not starting tonight if it was because we're resting him for a tough away fixture on Sunday, but I will bet that he will start on the bench then as well, and one of the old men, maybe both, will play on two days rest.We need to be playing Ugarte so he can build a relationship with the rest of the team. No point drip feeding him in.
To put it mildly.I would have rested Martinez too. Not at his best of late.
But why put Eriksen in then? Especially as his what 5th or 6th start in 2 weeks? With our current midfield options, a compact, narrow setup with balls in behind for Rashford and Hojlund (Ole ball) is the best we can do.
I disagree. He is starting all his favorite players as he does 9,5 out of 10 times. He really isn't doing himself any favors... Although the lineup is understandable, it misses signs of a little impulse that he thinks, that stuff has to change. That team selection suggests he sees the Villa game as more important. Bad miscalculation if so.
Managers tend to go with the players they already trust when the pressure ramps up to 11.Unless it's a fitness thing, you'd think this is the perfect game for Ugarte to play. Familiar surroundings, familiar opponents and a fixture he's used to.
