Our “play out from the back” tactic: Maguire, Lindelof, Maguire, Dalot, Onana -> heave and lose the ball immediately.

Take Rashford off, put Amrabat on, and Bruno out on the right. Load up the midfield. Keep the lead.

That's what a good manager would do.

Mainoo has been brilliant so far...really composed on the ball

scott needs to be reminded that he's a defensive mid and should be helping Mainoo defend and help in the build up....he's all over the pitch and with bruno that is an issue as Mainoo can't play CM by himself

bruno and rashford....absolutely shocking. fecking bring in Hannibal and Pellestri. Give the young lads the chance because at least you know they'll work their socks off defensively and be disciplined

back 5 has been very good so fair play to those lads

It just can’t be a real thing that the club captain, given the position he plays, isn’t working his socks off to get on the ball.

Too many passengers in this team, McTominay and Bruno isn't helping. Rashford doesn't want to defend or attack. Martial is Martial, we are lucky to be still 1-0. Everton deserve a equaliser, I cannot understand what is possession football to Erik. Does possession football mean your goalkeeper has many touches as your midfielder? If that's the case, Erik has successfully implemented possession football to United. Congratulations .

Think the Everton goal is inevitable. If we allow in the first 15 or so we will lose, other than that I think 1 1 draw is gonna be final score. Our bench is weak as hell

I would think Amrabat for McTominay and Varane for Lindelof subs are to be made at half time. It’s harder to fix the front line without Hojlund or Antony on the bench

The problem is these players look like they’ve never played together and that’s coaching and that’s the fault of the coach

Take Rashford off, put Amrabat on, and Bruno out on the right. Load up the midfield. Keep the lead.

That's what a good manager would do.

a smart manager would take them both off not ship bruno out of position on the right

Mainoo has been really good but this is another weak performance after a decent start

Couldn't care less about wonder goals. They're nice when you're competing for trophies and during the occassion but more interested in the actual performance which has been dreadful. Rashford poor. Lindelof soft asual, onana poor distribution, martial anonymous and bruno missing.

Theyll get the goal in the second half. Question is can we score another.

Mainoo doesn't look fazed at all. I really want to see him with Casemiro for a game. Him and Garnacho's goal are the only positives here. As soon as Everton started pressing, their physical superiority came through. We can't win against them by spamming long balls and trying to outmuscle them.

I wish McT could actually pass the football first time on a half turn. Him, Lindelof, Dalot, Bruno, Martial and Rashford have all been either invisible or ineffective. If AWB is fit I'd put him on immediately as Dalot looks defensively shaky. Maybe Amrabat too for midfield security. This will be a long 45 mins.

Anyone at United can do better than Rashford at this point including anyone from the women’s team
Any fan could do better than Rashford at the moment.

When I say moment…I of course mean the last 6 months

Rene Meulensteen was absolutely right. SMT is a decent player, but he needs coaching. Because SMT doesn't know how to play as Centre Midfield. He never showsfor the ball or makes himself available. Mainoo has done more in the first 20 mins as a ball player than I have seen SMT for months! SMT doesn't make himself available and it subsequently puts a lot of pressure on the back four, our keeper.

SMT plays like a youth player...drifts around, scores the odd goal... but doesn't understand what he is supposed to be doing, and doesn't understand the impact this has on the team. SMT is not getting any better. For Scotland, he has Billy Gilmour and John McGinn, so he can be a goal threat. But for us.... I don't know what he is supposed to be doing.

Stick McT up top, bring on Hannibal and Amrabat, get Pellistri on and we might get more balance and control in this side.

So far, Rashard, Martial and Bruno have been wank. Lindelof has been weak, and has been bullied. Maybe get Varane on.

a smart manager would take them both off not ship bruno out of position on the right

We dont have anyone to play on the right. Other than Bruno or Hannibal.

And in this sort of game Hannibal will get sent off in 10 minutes.

Will standy my comments that this is by far our worst performing team post Ferguson.

I've never seen us play so bad week in week out.

That sequence where Scot couldn't turn and pass the ball forward and kept passing back to Onana sums up his limitation as footballer.

Trying to defend a one goal lead after 15 minutes is even a new low for us.

Can't pass forward and losing the ball in dangerous positions

When will a United manager take our midfield seriously? Giving Bruno the free role means we get out numbers in midfield all the time. Would like to see us drop him and use a proper central midfield. Think it would give us more balance. Or better still play him as a false nine rather than starting Martial.

We need about 3 more Mainoo’s, realistically — players who are mobile, combative, can drive with the ball and are decent under the press at retaining the ball.

Can anyone tell me why Martial is on the pitch? Him and Rashford are poorest players in red and Lindelof looks like he had too many beers last night. Having said that, no one in a red shirt is having a great game and we have the usual couldn’t care less attitude. We have passed to Everton more than to our own players. Surely this is not the way they are being told to play.
