    Finally we've started to get the rub of the green with that goal, I willed it in if you ask me :lol:. Rojo could have cost us big, I don't think he will ever cut out such moments of madness out of his game. Good thing Bailly isn't fa off from return. What does barry have to do to get a yellow, punch someone? :mad:

    Echo on the goal
    The view from the Everton side...

    As good as Ibrahimovic’s goal was, the goalkeeper’s decision to come off his line and commit was one of the most bizarre Goodison has seen in a while. It’s 35-year-old Ibrahimovic, not Usain Bolt. Ridiculous.

    Wasn't around earlier & only got to start watching at 20 min mark. Can anyone fill me in on Rooney? Anything been said as to why he isn't even on the bench after playing so well?

    Can Rojo be retrospectively banned?

    I'm sure the FA changed the rules regarding challenges seen by the referee.

    I am assuming, since he as been already given a yellow, that's that...Else, the FA is basically telling the Ref you fecked it up.

    How many real chances have Everton created? I havent seen many.
    They haven't created anything really. Though at the start they had a few openings in the box where Jones had to defend really well to make sure he clears it so Lukaku or Mirallas don't get free headers

    I hope Blind comes in for Rojo. My worry is that Oliver will see the challenge at halftime and look to send him off.

    He didn't do that with City after Bravo, mind. But still.

    Rojo is lucky to still be involved.
    We have been poor but still better than an awful Everton side.
    If we keep our heads and play football we will kill them.

    Away to Everton was always going to be tough guys. We've been ok and getting the result should be our top priority.

    Rojo should've been sent off very poor challenge. Hopefully his card won't haunt us in the second.

    I know I may get a lot of heat for this but Zlatan's goal is just papering over the cracks whats been happening all season. I hope we go for a second goal rather than just defending which is what I'm afraid Mou may do again by bringing Fellaini on.

    You do understand that the aim of the game is to score goals? It's nice to play some nice passes or make no mistakes, but at the end of the day, if you score goals, everything else counts for nothing. Surely you should have learnt that during our last 4 1-1 draws at OT?
    So when we have a Ibra in our team and he is scoring crazy goals, you need to accept that as a good thing...not a bad thing. RVP did exactly the same thing in Fergie's final season and now Ibra seems to be doing the same this season.

    Banned for this game.

    Also seeing the replay, the defender gave up too early. If he kept sprinting, he could have cleared it off i guess

    Between Everton's hassling in midfield and long-ball punts to Lukaku we've really struggled to play any kind of decent football. The positive thing is we've not wilted under their aerial bombardment, but we need to stop giving them freekicks in dangerous areas. I'm also worried about Rojo not finishing the game out. Hopefully it's because he's subbed and not another brainfart that gets him sent off.

    Relieved to be going in 1-0 up, but this game isn't over.

    We deserved some pathetic goalkeeping.
    Based on previous games, definitely. Looking only at this game, not so much though.

    These kind of things normally even themselves out across the season though; so I'm not too bothered when it goes against us or for opposition teams.

    The whole "Everton should be playing against 10" narrative doesn't work when Barry should have been off for 2 bookings before his actual booking. Bloody sky.

    He is banned after picking 5 yellows. He would've started otherwise imo.

    How many real chances have Everton created? I havent seen many.

    That will change in the second half as they venture out more. We need a second and maybe even a third as our defense invariably will go to sleep for sometime in the second half.

    - it's going in!
    * hits the bar
    - feck! But it might bounce in!
    * hits the post
    - feck! But it might bounce in!
    * bounces out
    - feck! But it might bounce in!
    * gets cleared off the line
    - feck!! So typical, we don't have any luck etcetc
    * ref signals for goal
    - YEAAAAHHHHH!!!!!!!
    fecking emotional roller coaster :D

    Also seeing the replay, the defender gave up too early. If he kept sprinting, he could have cleared it off i guess

    I think in that situation most defenders would stop assuming it's going straight in. I think it would be incredibly harsh to blame the defender for not clearing it. That goal was 100% the keeper's fault.

    I'd sub in Mata and Blind for Pogba and Darmian now, with Rashford for Ibra around the 78th minute

    I know I may get a lot of heat for this but Zlatan's goal is just papering over the cracks whats been happening all season. I hope we go for a second goal rather than just defending which is what I'm afraid Mou may do again by bringing Fellaini on.

    Rojo should have been sent off, Darmian is playing poorly and may get exposed in the second half but has been left unchallenged by Everton so far. Martial looks out of confidence, and we have made a lot of unforced errors in this first half.
    We have been nowhere this half, your right about papering over the cracks. We don't deserve to be up in this game, our midfield has been weak. We actually need Fellaini on right now, Herrera and Carrick aren't up for it against a physical midfield like this.

    I wish Martial would make runs in behind when Zlatan comes in midfield
    He is actually making runs today but Pogba and Ibra are not finding him,I think he can be the match winner today,bring Blind on for Rojo and move Darmain to CD

    Rojo should be off, red card all day long, but so should Barry, three yellow card offences in that half. Cool finish by Ibrahimovic though. Surprised Bolasie hasn't got at Darmian more, but Everton have been poor. Wouldn't be surprised if Rojo doesn't finish the game, just hope he is subbed off rather than sent off.

    If they bring on Barkley, we'll control the midfield a lot more. They'll have to sacrifice a holding player.

    The anti United bias from sky should really be investigated. Every single time they gets guests they either hate United with a passion or someone who used to play for the opposition. I mean I would love a little bit of objective analysis, yeah Rojo should be off but so should Barry.

    He's actually done that quite a few times today. Pogba has just fecked up on his pass into him like twice or ignored him in order to dribble through once or twice. Same with Ibra into Pogba on the other side. The runs are there to be found, just the final pass needs to be sharper.
    You are righr.

    That will change in the second half as they venture out more. We need a second and maybe even a third as our defense invariably will go to sleep for sometime in the second half.
    The more they venture out the more susceptible to the counter attack they are which is what Jose always like.

    Exactly, that's what I meant. We don't deserve anything based on this game.
