I know I may get a lot of heat for this but Zlatan's goal is just papering over the cracks whats been happening all season. I hope we go for a second goal rather than just defending which is what I'm afraid Mou may do again by bringing Fellaini on.

Rojo should have been sent off, Darmian is playing poorly and may get exposed in the second half but has been left unchallenged by Everton so far. Martial looks out of confidence, and we have made a lot of unforced errors in this first half.

Good alertness by Ibra to score but let's be honest, we were poor this half. Carrick and Pogba have both been atrocious. Carrick I don't blame as much because he's clearly struggling as the one anchor in a 4-3-3. At his age he needs a partner and I think we should switch to 4-2-3-1 in the second half.

Pogba is irritating me no end, does he know what a pass is?

I actually think Jones has been our best player. Yes, he made a couple of sloppy passes but I think he's dealt with Lukaku well so far and looks very settled. I would take Rojo off but who do you replace him with? We'll lose quickness putting Blind on and I wouldn't throw Bailly right into a game like this.

Everton are fighting for their lives, it's difficult conditions, but we have fought well and raised them with some good skills. Important lead before HT. Mkhitarayan's runs are so smart, with better final passes we could have had a couple more chances.

Think a lot of us need to remember this isn't an easy ground and we won't play great football every week.
Big test for the team if they can edge out a win here without playing especially great.

Pogba has not made a correct pass tonight.
Nearly put Mkhitarian in once. But that aside, he was very poor.

Martial had a quiet half but the pass for Ibra's goal was lovley.

Herrera was again good. Him playing well is expect these days which is a credit to him.

Mkhitarian, though, has been a few levels above anyone else on the pitch.

The game will open up now. Everton will start to attack and we'll get chances on the break. It's important that we take them.

    Exactly

Tony V has the pace and strength to beat a man so why doesn't he? Everytime the ball goes to him you just know it's going inside and slowing right down.

A lot of people moan about Ibra, but the guy is scoring goals that no other MUFC players has been able to do in the last 3 seasons.

And more consistently, he is putting in some creative passes and holding up well. Very intelligent player even when he's not scoring.

What a shite half. Why do we look so bereft of urgency?

I think we're trying to move things quickly but Everton are doing really well at nullifying any space and are on our asses even before a pass has been made. I'd say they're playing quite well and it's taken a mistake for us to get a goal.

    Pretty much summed it up.

Feisty and fast-paced. Everton is pressing well and making it difficult for our players. But our players are coping well with good interchanges of play.

Very entertaining. Not sure why so many are complaining. Almost seems like a habit these days.

Poor first half by so many players, Miki the only attacking threat. Tony and him do well, the rest needs to up their game badly, especially Herrera and Pogba

We are away from home against a good side. Thats to be expected. We have done the hard work now, lets see if we can hold on.

I wish Martial would make runs in behind when Zlatan comes in midfield
He's actually done that quite a few times today. Pogba has just fecked up on his pass into him like twice or ignored him in order to dribble through once or twice. Same with Ibra into Pogba on the other side. The runs are there to be found, just the final pass needs to be sharper.

No way we will win this by scoring only one. We need that second as I don't see a clean sheet. We really need this win badly and with the luck of Rojos awful challenge being let off we can't say we haven't had luck this game.

Of course the first highlight they show is the red card the ref let us away with instead of our goal or anything else.

I still think we need Rashford on.
So he can run the ball out of play? Rashford wouldn't offer much today. At all. If anything I would want Mata on to calm things down a bit and have more control with that final ball. We already have the pace needed with Miki and Martial on the pitch.

How many real chances have Everton created? I havent seen many.

True but I'm sure he is told be careful if he losing the ball there it can lead to a counter attack and unbalance the defense. Valencia is one of our best players this year

Bloody bouncing ball on that advertising board has me all sorts of confused for a second during that goal line replay!

We've been the better side in what wasn't a great half of football. Some of the intricate stuff between Zlatan, Pogba and Mkhitaryan has been inches from coming off spectacularly.

Rojo is blessed to still be on the field, but has actually played very well since then. Himself, Jones, Valencia and Carrick have Everton in their pockets. Bolasie has looked the main danger for them and Darmian looks vulnerable.

Could not get excited with this type of performance even though we are up at half time. Pogba holding onto the ball more than he should, Martial not making an run behind , Rojo escaped a sending off. Hope the game opens up a little in the second half and we do better
