I don't like the way everyone and his dog, including the pundits have written off Everton before the kick-off, it makes me nervous. Still, I'm hopeful.

He has played 2 U21 matches within the last month though he didn't feature in the most recent U21 game. To say he was off the pace in the first match would be putting it mildly. Think his performance level was ok in the 2nd match.

Not in friday's 1st team training pics. Last first team action was in early Jan. Not even made the bench since Swansea home game.

Development has seriously stalled in the last year. He will do very well to win his place back over the summer

Be interesting whether he plays Rooney, probably will, but considering his regular non-turn up against Scouse teams I would be tempted to have him on the bench. Pretty sure LVG won't think like that.

Fecking hell didn't realise Everton's form was that bad.

It's more in the away games v those two he doesn't usually play well isn't it? At home he's scored plenty against them, well, Liverpool for sure.

Scored at both grounds this season though, so here's to continuing that today.
Getting excited now, set off in an hour or so

Everton's form has been woeful, Martinez teams are always poor defensively, our form has been improving, Rooney's back, so everthing points to an upset.

Getting nervous. We will not have a better chance of winning this trophy anytime soon.

Not only that, but no better time to smash away our poor set of results at the New Wembley. I think it's only the Charity Shield win in Moyes' first game that wasn't a defeat?

We won a few shield matches there. Two against Chelsea and one against Portsmouth.

From what I remember, we won the League Cup there twice (Spurs, Villa) and the Charity shield five times (Wigan, City, Chelsea x2, Portsmouth)

Losses at New Wembley: CL final v Barca 2011, FA Cup semi v City 2011, 2009 Charity Shield v Chelsea (pens), FA Cup semi v Everton 2009, FA Cup final v Chelsea 2007

Basically we've lost every FA Cup game there :nervous:

2 years ago yesterday Moyes's successor got Moyes the sack by beating him 2-0 at Goodison now Moyes's successor at United could get Moyes's successor at Everton the sack by beating him at Wembley.

    Its meant to be!

    W4 D5 L3

After the 5 draws, United won 3 penalty shootouts and lost 2.

    So it's kind of W7 L5.

I'm nervous today for the first time in a long time before a game. I know that Everton will have a makeshift defense today. Confidence will be low after the hammering against Liverpool and the physiological edge we have after beating them twice this season but...have a horrible gut feeling today. Everybody is expecting to win comfortably today, that doesn't sit well at all with me. Anytime we are big favourites this season we don't perform as expected. Everton are bad at the back but they can hurt us up front in my opinion. I really hope I'm wrong but can see them cnuts sneaking it. Like a 2.1, maybe it's just cause I don't have any trust in Van Gaal and the negativity has took it's toll this season.

I hope I'm wrong and we beat them comfortable. The feeling is like when you watch a game and your team batter the opposition, hit the post, cross bar, cleared of the line and are camped in there half, then they break in a counter in the 89th minute and get a jammy goal and win the game. That has never happened with a Van Gaal team, more a Fergie United side. Hope I'm wrong about today :nervous:

Nervous? I couldn't give a feck what the result is, the way we get there will be the same. We'll either play boring slow motion high possession football and squeak a win, or we'll play boring slow motion sloppy football and lose on penalties. I think the odds are in our favor but not really all that excited. Thanks to LVG.

Don't see anything but us winning comfortably. Expecting a solid 3-0 win

Lou Macari decided to go to Wembley early, so left his hotel early went to Marlebone station and somehow managed to get a train to Birmingham. He has arrived eventually.:lol:

    That says it all really.
We complain about MUFC being boring and playing for 1-0, but it seems that Everton are struggling to score even 1 goal!
If we lose or draw this one, I'll be in shock.

"Rooney is the Captain and the Captain shall always play!"

You don't care what the result is? Haha cool

Having been told who Van Gaal has omitted from the matchday squad, it is an unsurprising but potentially harmful decision. Michael Carrick is back in the 18-man party today, but Van Gaal’s alteration is symptomatic of the risk-aversion football he has presided over during his 20 months in charge of United. There’ll be more to say on this after quarter past four.

From the M.E.N. Not sure if I like the sound of this.

If Everton play as shit as they did against Liverpool, I can see us battering them 1-0.

Got a serious buzz for this game. Not something I've had in a while. Feels like a big one.
