TBF, we struggled against Derby both home and away that season, IIRC. Or at least the away game where it took a Ronaldo goal to beat them.

I think we hammered them away as well, but couldn't finish any of the numerous chances we had. Ronaldo even celebrated by counting to 5 with his fingers, to show that he finally scored with his fifth chance.

Or at least that's how I remember it.

That's more chances created than we do in a month of football.

    Ouch.

I'm pessimistic about this game and predict a 0-1 win so LvG will survive another game. I know he must be a good manager but I think this battle he has lost so he really should just give it up.

I'm the same. He clearly is a good manager, but the bare nature of our attacking options will be his downfall. A manager like him should be able to make his system work without needing Neymar and Muller.

Some negativity with the scoreline .Whether wishful thinking or genuinely not confident .1-3 United.

Extremely nervous about this one. Could go either way. Derby are no mugs.
I'd settle for a draw so we can get the replay at old Trafford and stuff them 1-0 from a last minute deflection.

I'm optimistic about this game: we'll force a replay lads! Don't worry, we're in this competition for a few more days at least.

I've gone for 1-2 tonight. We will most definitely win, but I do fear we will concede. I'd like him to drop Rooney and play Mata behind Martial, with Depay and Lingaard out wide. I hope the away supporters don't act like the boo'ing clowns that many on here wish them to be.

Would like to see something like this. No square pegs in round holes in that lineup. No Martial because I think he could do with a bit of a break. Memphis needs to be given a chance again, this seems like a good game for it. Mata for either Herrera or Blind (with Herrera moving back into CM) would be another option.

Should I get up for this? 5am start. What would you lot do?
I have to go to work at 8am.

Another game we will struggle to score. Rinse and repeat. Tired of this shite.

I really feel like I don't want to watch this game as some form of crappy protest..

    I'll still watch anyways.

If we lose and play like a shower of shit I'd expect some booing. Obviously if booing isn't warranted it shouldn't be done.

I have actually gone for a Derby win 2-1 although I'm now thinking it will finish 1-1.

Before every match I marvel at how little enthusiasm I have for the ensuing borefest, and how it possibly can't get any lower, but somehow it does and continues to do so.

At least you are no doubt feeling the same as 95% of our reported 690m fans - one big unhappy family!

Totally agree we need to give the younger players a chance and I would actually enjoy to see something different

MEN had a piece about him turning to the youngsters the other day. Not sure if referred to this match specifically or just in general, or even if there was some substance to it. As long as we don't have to many players playing out of position and Fellaini doesn't start, I'll be relatively happy. Well, as happy as I can be anyway, knowing he's still our manager and likely will be for the rest of the season.

There's no way we will lose against Derby... I think 3-1 United

I would, unless you're already knackered. I used to get up and watch us when we played in the states on tour, then head to work after. Was fine.

I find myself confused more than anything. I want us to win but know that will solidify lvgs position and guarantee more of the same in terms of the club slowly being eroded away into mediocrity.

We will win this one and as a consequence Van Gaal will scornfully smile at the next press conference, saying "See... I know what I shall do... I am still here... You don't get me fired."

And then we will lose the next two premier league matches.

If Derby play without fear and are positive they can beat us. Sad isnt it

    They'll be game-raising cnuts tonight.

I want a change of manager, but I wouldn't want us to lose tonight just for that to happen. Alas I think it will be close. Form goes out of the window here - it's the magic of the Cup after all.

I would love some Dynamo, David Blaine type magic entertainment and not some Paul Daniels Magic Set shite from us...Sheff Utd game was some god awful rubbish to watch.
