Looking at the score predictions against Cardiff on Saturday, I am guessing the sacking of Mourinho and appointment of Solskjaer has many on Redcafe feeling overly optimistic.

Wouldn't be surprised if we lost but hell I am excited anyway cause we will try to attack we will try to win.

I’m suddenly super excited for this game. Not expecting us to suddenly become amazing or anything, but it does feel like a dark cloud has been lifted.

    -Valencia-Herrera—Pogba-Shaw-

    -Lingard——Rashford——Martial-

This is the most up for a game I've been in a long long time. Probably since the Europa league final. There's nothing like actually having a manger you don't despise.

I'm sure the players are desperate to show what they are really capable of too. Come on!!!

Realky cannot wait for this! Absolutely buzzing for this game which isn’t something I have said for a very long time!

Bit late in realising but it does seem like fate that this is Ole’s first game.

For the 1st time, since august 2016, I'm excited about an United game again. As much as I don't have confident in Ole, I feel more confident and more excited about a game again. Thanks God for this change and I hope we never make such a harmful decision again by hiring the most anti-United manager. But the excitement and happiness might quickly die if Matic and Fellaini are in the starting eleven.

Atmosphere at OT will be electric.

We play Huddersfield followed by Bournemouth at OT just to clarify. This game vs Cardiff is away.

Ole is a massive fan of Rashford, so I can see him wanting to start the latter. If so, at whose cost? Martial shouldn't be dropped as even Woodward knows his worth and sacked Jose for that, and Lukaku might say Jose was holding him back and that he deserves a fair chance.

Interesting conundrum, who is he going to drop out of Martial, Rashford and Lukaku for Cardiff? I hope he doesn't stick Martial or Rashford on the right, they are both crap there.

Heeeeellls yeah cant wait for us to get out there as a changed team, guns blazing and gung ho, and obliterate Cardiff 4-5 or possibly (hopefully) 4-6!

    What ?

I'd be surprised Ole makes too many changes instantly, but he will no doubt hand out chances to those that have been on the fringes under Mourinho.

Apparently OGS was likening his Molde strikers to Lukaku as a way of building them up, which suggests he rates him. Wouldn't be surprised to see Lukaku feature strongly over the remainder of the season.

Well, Martial was a major bone of contention between Ed and Jose. Ed felt Jose didn't develop Martial and also wanted to get shot of him, which contributed to the sacking.

Can see Rashford on the right, hes shown plenty of good things from there and more than anything, he'll be able to show it in a more attacking system now which will help. Also Solskjaer can teach him a few things on how to improve as a striker and adapt that to playing out wide effectively.

He'll finally test the Lukaku as a RW experiment

As he should. he is our best striker.. We just need to play some attacking football and not stay deep and hoof the ball forward to him .

My bad, forgot that the game was away. Anyway the away fans will make the atmosphere electric. I hope that the players will express themselves with more joy and freedom. Expect great performances from Pogba, Martial and Rashford.

Reading a lot of comments in this thread suggesting Carrick/McKenna will be picking the team - do we not think Solksjaer will be in the dugout for this or something?

I think Rashford and Lukaku are fairly sure to start. Ole might opt for Lingard over Martial.

Well, hopefully we'll start calling him Goalkjaer soon. It'll be interesting to see how we line up, but I don't expect major surgery to the lineup right away. 2-1 win.

This could be interesting. I wonder how much thought squad selection will be based on which players were revolting against Jose. Surely Carrick will know. Ole will either dismiss it start everyone with a clean slate since Jose's management and tactics were shit or he will select the players based on performance and effort. If the later, we'll be playing with a side of 3 vs 11.

This how Zidane will line up?

    De Gea
    Dalot - Lindelof - Bailly - Shaw
    Fred - Herrera - Pogba
    Pereira - Rashford - Martial
This is the line up that best makes use of our squad I think. With the right coaching and tactics we'd do well playing this team
