We played well and should have had three or four. Impressed by Sancho and Pogba.

Not sure why the officials don't just call it off and give Burnley the points: I mean the disallowed goals were a joke. Now you aren't allowed to hold your ground to block a player or jump with an opponent. Once again, the tech works but the clown using it was in the loo or ordering a pizza...

Seriously, we've been pretty good. Pogba doing well, Rashford very involved and Shaw making good runs and Sancho looking dangerous... but we all know we need another goal. You just know we are going to give them one

Good half. Shame about the fouls in the disallowed goals or we could be very comfortable here. As always, I'm concerned about a 1 goal lead as we all know how fragile we are at the back. We need to get that second goal to settle things as soon as possible in the second half
Pleased to see we are continuing our ability to create things, just need to finish them better.

Cavani looking dangerous I thought, but Sancho clearly the star of the first half.

Dominant performance, ref fecking us out of a few goals here. Seriously both of those ruled out were soft as shit.

Sancho, Bruno, Pogba and Shaw very good.

Should be at least 2-0. Offside one is soft, but he interfered from an offside position. Though he was also shoved into the offside position, so it's a tricky one. 2nd disallowed goal was nonsense.

Good performance. Shite officiating. They're getting every soft decision, and we're getting kicked up in the air and getting nothing. They were at it from the first minute. That slight touch in the back from Cavani which made their defender practically do a front flip in the air.

We're alright, not great but decent. Rashford is his usual self - head down and just run into people. Such a low iq footballer.

I’ll let them off for the first disallowed one as it’s very similar to the one we got away with against Villa. The second one is a fecking joke.

We’re battering those lot. Ever since we switched to 4-3-3 we actually look like an organised team… players staying on their side of the pitch to hold shape/ width, making actual runs off the ball to move players out of position. McT as well seems to actually be learning how to play as a holding midfielder!
Yeah liking what he’s doing in the 6 role, still has a few misplaced passes but so do a lot of other CDM’s, my concern is his lack of pace of the mark.

Some serious Maguire hate today, don’t think he’s done much wrong tonight, few passes going astray but at least we’re trying to move it out from the back faster now a days.
Its basically every matchday thread/maybe even everyday for some caftards, not just today.

The shape has looked better, Bruno playing slightly deeper allows he and Pogba to be dual creative threat. Scott doesn't exactly suit a true sitting role but he wins a lot of balls in the air, gets his foot and is physical so it is working ok.

Shaw and Sancho have been the stars of that half, working excellently as a partnership. Thought the first ruled out goal was fair enough but the second is just woefully, football has changed for the worse, soft.

Very harsh to disallow both of those goals. We play well but still a bit pissed off about that. Our players must keep the foot on the pedal til the end here

still find Pogba such a likeable guy. I have a soft spot for most Carrington graduates

How on earth were them goals disallowed?

    Both should have stood.

Pretty commanding first half, just need that second goal to really kill any doubt.

I can see burnley getting some fluke goal from that weghorst fellow. Probably breaks varanes leg and the ref still awards it.

Seriously there was nothing wrong with that second goal rule out.

    Weakest link is rashford
Rashford (never a RW and he’s not played closed to best form in about 18 months); Cavani/Ronaldo (both offer little outside of their impact in the box); and probably McTominay (not really a no.6)

Is it still offside if the player is not defending, and instead moving away from the goal?

If they were all alone by the corner flag, would you still be saying that his ability to play the ball was impacted by the player standing offside?

No, but that’s why we say interfering with play. Active vs inactive. He’s close enough to the play and he stops a player running back to defend. He literally grabs the arm of the defender from an offside position.

Sancho's been really good, looks like it's clicked again

Really enjoyed that half. Sancho has his major back and that's finally the Shaw we need.

Totally agreed it’s an absolute joke, so feck if maguire was offside, that happens about a million times a season
There is always one player that breaks rank for that very reason

They need to come out aggressive. I feel the decisions knocked some of the stuffing out of us
