Shaw has been good in all his recent games and is finally getting a run together just to be dropped it’s a daft decision.

We scraped a last minute goal and the lot of them were shocking against Burnley, it’s really not a game to be praising Young.

Thats the spirit lets give up and watch the snooker instead

Disappointed not to see Shaw in the team but trust Mourinho's decision, hopefully Young doesn't suffer a post-ban hangover.

Think without Jose's comments in the presser, most people would have been alright with Young coming into the squad because he has had an excellent season. Shaw will get plenty of games.

Clattenburg saying on Norwegian telly that Arsenal should’ve gone for Martial instead of Miki because ‘the deal is that they give a player to United and take one back’ and United should give Arsenal Martial because ‘if they want Sanchez that much then why not?’

    What a mentalist

Clattenburg? No, It was Simon Baker.

Lot of Liverpool fans in this thread today.

Taken a while but looks like Martial solidified himself on the left wide forward spot by beating out Rashford. Will be interesting to see who gives way between him, Mata and Lingard when Sanchez arrives.

Don't think Mourinho was completely honest in his compliments to Shaw. He was protecting himself from criticism for dropping him and, at the same time, making us believe the club's decision not to buy Rose or Sandro was also his. I mean, would Valencia be dropped for a ‘specific game’?

Only as long as he deserves it, as it should be. I love the fact that he has to fight for a spot, will only make him better!

Edit: @Android1974 big fan of Shaw, but the Tony V comparison doesn’t hold water. When Shaw has been playing well as long as him you might have a point. Shaw is in his first run of games for years, literally!

The last point is also important, Shaw has been playing a lot lately

Looks like people are back to moaning about Shaw

Young's been in great form this season It's not like we're starting Rojo there

I was just thinking that  United would NEVER agree to that! Also, why is he asked about transfers? He knows feck all, just like the rest of us, when it comes to that.

Not a lot of game changers on the bench for us, attacking wise. Imagine how much stronger that bench would be with Sanchez starting and one of the current front four to bring on as a sub

Hopefully the starting XI can do the job for us today though, will be a difficult match for sure.

You're probably right, but Valencia doesn't have a player as good as Young vying for his RB position. Young does offer something Luke Shaw doesn't.

And what's happened to the "Jose is biased against Martial!", "Jose prefers Rashford to Martial!" crowd?
