And i would rather keep rooney on the bench.

After losing Zlatan, we're down to 2 men that can play as #9, Rooney and Rashford. So Rooney's gonna have to play some games to rest Rashford and I'd rather it's against Burnley than against City.

That is crazy talk! Darmian isn't even a particularly good full back, let alone centre back. Burnley are going to park the bus and won't offer much going forward, so Blind's passing skills will be useful. I would play Blind, Tuanzebe, TFM or Carrick at centre back before I even considered Darmian.
We'll see, Burnley will surely attack, not sit deep the whole time and I hope there won't be a huge panic with Blind in the side.

Well done for quoting my post from immediately after the last match finished. Yeah, that was before he wasn't seen with the squad yesterday. The team I submitted didn't have him in (Darmian and Young).

It was obvious as soon as the last game finished imo. He looked knackered during extra time.

Disappointing if true but Rashford ran his arse off for two hours on Thursday and will be essential against City.

MEN are usually useless at guessing the line up prior to it coming out aren't they?

How many times has a team scored 5 or 6 in a PL match this season? I think those days are past us, except for perhaps one freak match a season.

    MD06: Liverpool 5:1 Hull City
    MD08: Bournemouth 6:1 Hull City
    MD11: Chelsea 5:0 Everton
    MD11: Liverpool 6:1 Watford
MD13: Swansea City 5:4 Crystal Palace
MD14: Tottenham Hotspur 5:0 Swansea City
MD14: West Ham United 1:5 Arsenal
    MD24: Everton 6:3 Bournemouth

    Try 8 :p

No chance of us scoring 5 or 6 away to Burnley though.

Rashford needs to be wrapped in cotton wall so the right decision

We have City away on Thursday, Rashford could do with a rest to be fair.

    Rooney starting? Sigh

So much for a pacey, agreesive lineup

    Fair enough! :wenger::lol:

Didn't Jose say he was happy with Shaw but mentioned something about leg cramps? I thought Shaw would be a bench option.

Oh, I remember now. I just don't think jose will trust him yet against City.

MEN saying that Rashford and Mkhitaryan both on bench.

Defensively he's better imo. Blind at CB can be all over the place sometimes. Also, Blind being a better fullback, I'd say they're on par.

Let's agree to disagree then. I think we are watching different players

Won't be a huge surprise if some players who played 120 minutes on Thursday night might be rested.

I never put Rashford in my line-up given how much he was extended agaisnt both Chelsea and Anderlecht and the fact we play City on Thursday.

I agree that rashford might need a rest but i would rather see martial start up top.

Possibly, but going from how they've performed against the top six this season it'll be more difficult than we think. Think Jose may even play a weakened team with one eye on the derby next week.

Here are their home results vs. top 10 opposition - they've given them close games:

    Burnley 2-0 Liverpool
Burnley 0-1 Arsenal (conceded a last minute handball goal)
    Burnley 2-0 Watford
    Burnley 2-1 Everton
    Burnley 1-2 Man City
    Burnley 1-1 Chelsea
    Burnley 1-0 Southampton
    Burnley 0-2 Spurs

They haven't conceded more than two goals at home all season.

I'd be very wary of this tie, looks easier on paper than it is.

It will be tough of course - but Burnleys form is pretty rotten. 1 win in 11 (1-0 against Stoke) and if the season had been 3-4 matches longer, they could have ended up in a relegation battle. Now they have enough points to just scrape by.
