A good first half and a containing second half with sporadic breaks. Can't fault it really and we have actually found how to grind out wins again! Martial and Bailly tge 2 stand out players. Rooney did ok, better than what I thought he would. Wasn't that enamoured with Keane. Think there are better options out there.
if it will help you understand … I disagree with your reply to my original post. Although we were still dominant in the second half we were nowhere near as in control or pro-active as we were in the first - that was my point. There was nothing going forward after HT and it was obviously under orders. They didn't offer too much in response so it wasn't as much a risk as in the Chelsea game last Sunday but I still feel that we do not currently have the personnel to defend wave after wave of gifted attack when it is easier to retain possession.
To qualify all of this I did actually write in my original post that I assume that, like last weeks masterclass, I guess the Pep element will mean that Jose did all of this with Thursday in mind anyway.

About half the players out there played a lot of minutes on Thursday. We hardly had any trouble with them. Rest and conserve for the rest of the season.

I would tend to agree. If I was him I would give it 1 more year then leave if not given significant game time. Same as Pereira Tuanzebe and the others who are sitting on the bench for nothing.
