Only if we're the current us. We might not be. Know what I mean?
Not really. Even the recent best “us” were getting spanked by every team in the top half away from home last season. Heavy defeats too. I fully expect a comfortable bayern win.

Yes we could play like prime Barcelona. Is it likely? Absolutely not.

Sane will be up against a defensively challenged Reguilon. Going to be fun to watch. If Dalot plays, not going to be much prettier.

I guess people might think it's being defeatist, but I'd go into this match looking to keep the score to a minimum. This could quite easily turn into a rout for Bayern as our team is just too mentally fragile and we are lacking some absolute key players.

That being said, I'd still select players in their natural positions.

    ---------------------------Onana
    AWB--------Lindelof-------Martinez------Reguilon
    -----------------Amrabat*-----Casemiro
    Pellistri---------------Mejbri------------Garnacho
    -------------------------Hojlund

*if Amrabat is still not fit enough I'd play Mejbri deeper (which I'd like to see long-term anyway) and play Bruno/Eriksen ahead of the two midfielders. I think Rashford, our best attacking player for sure, may be served by starting on the bench with a quiet word about off the ball work. That though could of course turn into another media driven drama to put the boot into Erik.

    I'd take a 0-1 now.

You’ve got more chance of winning the lottery than that lineup starting.

    Onana
    Dalot - Lindelof - Martinez - Regulion
    Hannibal - Casemiro - McTominay
    Bruno - Hojlund - Rashford

Bruno on the right is criminal. He should be in the centre. Amrabat and Casemiro should play together with the former tracking back so we don't get bull dozed in midfield again and look like an amateurish conference side.

The Bayerrn games are losses, all about the other 4 games in the group. Set up defensively and try and score on the counter.

Should be about 12-3. I decided in my past life as a frog that I was gonna be a United fan in the next life. Best decision I have ever made as an entity in the universe, great success

Didn't Ten Hag suggest no one was likely to be back in time fitness wise for this one? I hope to god he isn't so stubborn as to stick with the side from Saturday to make a point, but with no returnees?

I guess we will revert back to last season and try to be defensively solid with breaks, which might suit Rashford and Hojlund, but we don't look remotely at it in midfield to get away with it. Who knows though, maybe a return to Champions League will revitalise Casemiro again. Certainly a good result here would be massive in the current context and environment. An absolute shoeing could be nail in coffin.

    Feels pivotal, worryingly.

We're not gonna get tonked. It's always like that the last 10 years. Abysmal Form with everyone fearing a tonking yet somehow we managed to pull a draw or something.

If there's one thing our lazy bunch is good at is playing this high profile games, turns up and give themselves and the fans 5 easy jail out pass. Ole made a meal out of the PSG games. Moyes too with 2-2 at Bayern iirc.

So i predict a close lose or a draw and everyone comes rosy again. Win the Burnley match and it's on again

We’re away from home, the only thing guaranteed is getting smashed the only question is by how much

Suspect it'll be closer than most people are expecting, away from home, no expectation. We can sit deep and counter attack, might just suit us for once.

Ole won in Paris, no reason Erik can't in Munich.

People need to remember that our domestic form doesn't translate to European nights. Last year we literally made Barcelona look like Stoke(them having scored only from set pieces).

ETH performs really good in Europe as well. With that being said considering the injury crisis and how out of form we look I'd be very surprised if we get anything from this fixture. I expect a Bayern win, but my gut tells me that we might pull an upset.

You never know with these things.

Once you've been beaten so heavily by all and sundry recently, hard to care too much about any single game. Wouldn't mind too much if we lost 4-0.

Casemiro was criticized for his NT performance over the international break too.
He's in a funk. Just needs to played into form

Anyway we know that we'll go to Munich to defend deep and try to counter them.

It's almost certain that Ten Hag will use this strategy because we can't do anything else.

I think playing Bruno on the right will not be the solution, especially him defending against Davies.

I'd rather have a winger playing there (and no it's not Pellistri).

    -------------------------------------------Onana---------------------------------------------
    AWB (if fit)---------------Lindelof---------Martinez----------------------Dalot
    -----------------------------Casemiro----------Eriksen---------------------------------
    Garnacho-----------------------------Bruno-------------------------------Rashford
    --------------------------------------------Hojlund--------------------------------------------

    Blind optimism----Bruno Fernandes----Inshallah
    -------------------Dumb luck--------Moments
    Pipe dream----Top red----Positivity------Give yoof a chance
    -----------------------------God help us

    2-1 United.

Monitoring to come off the bench and score the winner.

I couldn't see us getting anything from the Brighton game and I can't see us getting anything from this.

3-1 to Bayern...... On a plus point, I do think we will scrape an incredibly unconvincing win against Burnley on Saturday.

Tough one knowing what team I'd put out. To be honest I think i'd like to give a chance to a few players with a point to prove and the players with good attitudes.

Controversial line up but I think I'd go with:

    --------------------------------------Onana---------------------------------
    Dalot----------------Maguire------------Martinez----------------Reguilon
    ----------------------Casemiro-------------Hannibal------------------------
    Garnacho-----------------------Bruno-----------------------------Rashford
    -------------------------------------Hojlund--------------------------------

I don't think it will happen and it's risky throwing Maguire, Hannibal and Garnacho in but I think we need some players that want to make a statement on the pitch.

We thrive in these kind of fixtures. Let's get the season on the track with a win. I don't know why I'm still positive about the season :D

What does "these kind" mean? Away matches against good teams?

I can understand this optimism under Ole given his start and then subsequent wins against good teams like City. But ETH? Thrive in away games? If you offered me a 1-1 I'll take it and run.

This will be a better performance. Narrow defeat or plucky draw playing on the counter attack. I fear the Burnley game a hell of a lot more.
