Can somebody pin this fecking message.

    Lisandro is suspended
    Sabitzer is suspended
    Away goals don't matter

    Sick of reading it ffs.

I hope Antony is back for this game. We need someone who can press when out of possession and can keep the ball in the final 3rd.
    De Gea
    AWB - Varane - Shaw - Malacia
    Casemiro - Fred
    Bruno
Antony (if not then Sancho) - Rashford
    Weghorst

It depends on how many goals the other team score, so they might.

Predicting United to win on away goals with Martinez and Sabitzer scoring on Thursday

Not optimistic about this one, lets see. Bring them back to OT with us within a goal is a good result

Vital we start Martinez and Sabitzer to secure an away goal advantage.

This is what I‘m expecting. I prefer AWB to Dalot for this game.

Need big games for Licha, Antony and Sabitzer.

An away goal would be nice.

Haven't been following Barca of late. Seems a bit odd they have the quality to top their league by 11 points, letting in only 7 goals in 21 games, while getting kicked out of the Champions League. Do we have a decent chance against this lot?

At full strength (and rested) I backed us to beat them over two legs. It's going to be much more difficult now though considering we are missing 3/4 starters that are all vital especially in retaining possession (Licha, Martial, Eriksen, Antony) and have also played a ridiculous amount of games recently.

As far as Barca goes, they are quality but La Liga is as bad as it's been in years this season, so their league record is a bit smoke and mirrors. They got knocked out of the UCL because they leaked goals without their first choice backline.

They were more or less just unlucky in the group stage happens sometimes.

If this is a game that doesn’t whet your appetite then you may as well sack football off. Doesn’t matter what comp it’s in these games are as big as they come. Up there with RM, Bayern and Liverpool for me.

Dalot and Sancho to start. Everything else is beyond obvious

Didn't I read on here that Sabitzer was suspended as a suspension in the CL carries over to the lesser UEFA tournaments?

Who will be playing instead of Busquets for them?

    Kessie

First real test for EtH. Definitely his biggest European game at United. They're in top form, this should have been swapped with the Milan Spurs tie in the CL.

I hope we manage our nerves and play to our strengths with aggression. Hoping that one of Sabitzer, Licha or Antony scores!

Head says with our key injuries, suspensions, dip in form and historically shite performances in Spain and Barcelona having a great season we’ll lose this. Heart says a ballsy draw.

So be it. We can definitely turn them over at home if we get a decent result away.

Im probably alone in this one but i want WW to play the fellaini role flanked by speedies garnacho and rashford and kill them in the counterattack. Thats how you beat those ball possession loving techno-midgets. I don't care playing nice football which many of you crave here. I love ETH hammer which he uses to hit others teams. Regain possession, two or three passes to gain 60 meters and bam! Goal. Thats how we play now and thats how we will win against this lot

Sorry to break it to you but two of them are suspended and one is injured.

He's a box to box, right? Will Gavi be the most defensively responsible?

Barcelona changed its formation to 4 midfielders, since then the team is more compact and comfortable on the field.

With possession Barcelona plays an asymmetrical formation.

    ..................... Ter Stegen

    ... Koundé..... Araujo..... Christensen

    ................ FDJ........... Kessie
    .............................................................. Balde
    .................Pedri.............. Gavi

    Raphinha..........Lewa..

Balde has freedom and the entire left wing to attack. And when Baldé goes up, Kessie covers the band.

Pedri has more freedom of movement and is closer to the area.
FdJ can also carry the ball as he did at Ajax because he has Kessie guarding the position.

Gavi when pressing goes from the middle to the left wing.
Xavi found an ecosystem where each player is more comfortable and that improves the balance of the team.

I think if we start with Sabitzer and Martinez it might surprise the opposition. Rest picks itself. Hopefully it's a 3-3 like back in 1998/1999. Those away goals could really decide the tie.

First real test?!? Barcelona didn‘t make it through the group stages. Arsenal and City were bigger tests.

Despite all the “funny” posts about suspensions, there will still be several people asking on Thursday once the line-up will be leaked “FFS why are Martinez and Sabitzer not starting??”

We should play our suspended players. Feck it, away goals count too. Hahaha.

Huh? Why won't they be starting?

That looks right. Rashford could switch to the left and center during the game, like what happened against Leeds. There will be lots of space to exploit.
