Given that Spanish sides have generally been a thorn on our side and our record against Barca, I think they will edge us out once again, unfortunately. But I'm not a Nostradamus by any means.

I hope our former RM players especially can reignite their flames and give 110%.
It is different this time, we dealt well with City the second time and Arsenal (despite losing in the dying seconds). We have to bring it, that is a prerequisite.

I hope you're right. I think we'll bring our A game but Barca seems to be on form right now as well.

Watch them regularly and don't think they should be considered favourites, feel like people see the name and look at La Liga and assume they're elite again but it's more a mix of them being good (not amazing) and La Liga really going to the dogs. 50/50 game in my eyes, we're still getting to grips tactically with ETH but we will be able to keep the ball against them.

    oh dear

Haven't been following Barca of late. Seems a bit odd they have the quality to top their league by 11 points, letting in only 7 goals in 21 games, while getting kicked out of the Champions League. Do we have a decent chance against this lot?

Rashford is going to light up the Nou camp. I think we score 2 goals and come away with something from this game.

I like Underdog United. When we're not favourites, that's usually when we perform best.

From what I heard they pretty much had their first choice defence unavailable for the groups, hence why they got slaughtered.

I'd say we have a 30% chance. They're definite favourites IMO.

I don’t think Weghorst will help us in this one, they would not have any troubles passing around him.
For me it would be Sancho, Garnacho and Rashford through the middle. Maybe even think about throwing Elanga in as his speed could give them some headaches.

I can’t wait for this and think we can beat them….It could be a game of Cat n Mouse with us picking our moments to press and counter and at other times letting them have the ball…

Weghorst is really good at hounding keepers and defenders…if he plays they won’t have much time on the ball when we do decide to press and the speed of Rashford and maybe Garnacho on the counter will frighten them..

Ten Hag has beaten Pep, Klopp, Conté and Arteta already let’s hope Xavi is the next scalp…

Thought this was impressive, especially considering the nature of the team inherited post-Messi. Xavi has done a tremendous job to put up those numbers. Although Pep being at the bottom is clearly understandable after inhering that mish mash of a team from Rijkaard.

People are far too fearful. La Liga is currently a good bit behind the Premier League. The former Span and Real Madrid manager is in a relegation battle in England!

That doesn't really indicate much though does it? People take what job is on offer.

Ancelotti went from midtable Everton to winning the champions league the season after.

This will be a good test for our squad in a relatively pressure-free environment.

Given where we are in the league and how we're competing in domestic cups, Europa - at least for me - has been knocked down a few rungs of priorities for the season.

We're up against a side who is superior to us on paper and really has no right being in this competition. We are on a massive up-trajectory but missing key players for this.

Really looking forward to it but this is by no means a season-defining make-or-break tie.

Yeah, really looking forward to it. Little pressure on us but it has the potential to be a real momentum builder and reinforcer of everything we're doing st the moment.

Emery and Lopetegui taking the jobs they have in the Premier League is absolutely a fair indication of where both La Liga and the Premier League are in my opinion.

Those score predictions seem very negative. I somehow feel we'll come back to OT with a positive result. Casemiro is back and we can defend deep and also cause problems up front. I think we are going to win this one. I hope we don't go to Nou Camp and sit back and let them play in front of us and play on the break. I would hate to see that. For once, we have a team that can play football and we need to go there and be positive. I want to see a decent possession and passing game with a positive result. Come on Ten Hag! Come on United!

I think United have a really strong chance of progressing through this tie and going all the way in the competition.
La Liga is not the league it was as the English and to an extent French league is scooping up much of the talent that would have been plying their trade in Spain or Italy.
Having the second leg at home is a big plus for you as Barca can fall apart on their travels. Even a single goal deficit after the away leg would have you favourites by my reckoning.
You are 8/1 with Betfred to win it all or 11/8 to progress to next round. Both good value in my book.

Rashford through the middle for me. Adds to the counter attack threat/exploit a high line...

    De Gea

    Dalot Varane Shaw Malacia

    Casemiro Fred

    Bruno

    Sancho Rashford Garnacho

They will probably trash us. So much quality in their squad.
Meh. I think there’s a lot of quality in their midfield* — Frenkie and Pedri have the capacity to retain possession like nobody in our squad can and we will play on the break as normal in big games. Just hope Casemiro has a mega game

I think rashford through the middle is more effective in the latter parts of the game when it's stretched and players are leggy. Start of the game will be cagey and will need a player with good back to goal properties
