This’ll be another tumescent game uptop. At least we’ll probably get to see more of Garnacho

We beat Villarreal home and away in the CL last year so it's not all doom and gloom against Emery. Not that he would've had any time to affect things.

Really it will be about excitement from the fans and players for a new manager with good credentials, could be numerous names. The removal of Gerrard lifting the team still, our struggle to score and players out will make this difficult.

What happened to our squad? jesus that forward line looks like crap on paper.

I wouldn’t play Garnacho, because Villa are dirty cnuts and will kick the shit out of him..

I would have still thought Milner would be above him though so a bit dubious on the stat altogether.
Maybe it is stats for most minutes with same club, active player, since 2005?

What happened to Antony and Sancho? I thought Antony was carrying a slight knock and was dropped for West Ham as a precaution? And I assumed Sancho would have recovered from illness already.

Ugh really not looking forward to another 2022 Ronaldo masterclass.

Emery's first match and the forward players we're missing will make this pretty attritional. I'd take a 1 goal win right now.

Have to say I fancy a Villa win now after looking at the squad.

Yeh, not looking forward to today at all. We struggle to score at the best of times, but now with so many attacking players missing, plus with Emery in charge I can only see us dropping points.

Garnacho, Rashford and Elanga front 3 If I was picking the team out of that squad.

Crazy how under Ten Hag, player's injury situation is always a mystery. Jeez, no leaks at all.

ETH didn't give any details on either of them. For Antony it might a slight knock that appears to be worse than first thought and Sancho could have Covid or something a lot worse than just a cold.

Surely it’s worth giving Pellistri a chance?

Is there an explanation why so many are missing? Is Martial ever going to be fit again?

We have to buy a striker in January even if it's just to see through until the summer. Looking utterly threadbare again today

It’s not gonna happen but with so many offensive players out i would like to see a Casemiro, Fred and Eriksen midfield with Casemiro as a lone DM and Fred and Eriksen in CM. With Bruno out we should let Eriksen have more creative freedom and less defensive duties.

Also i don’t want to see Ronaldo. I much rather have some players that actually care. We need to come out pressing, because Villa will surely be up for it. We must match their intensity.

Villa home with a new manager, they surely must come out and fight. So we need steel in midfield and pace up front. There will be room on the wings and behind the defense. If we manage to pin them down then we can put Ronaldo on.

Will do well to come away with a victory today I reckon. Really need to though with the fixtures involving teams near the top happening.

Not really unexpected but for anyone that cares,
