We were always going to have days like this during this season.

This wasn't an off day. We saw this midweek as well. I'm not blaming Erik for experimenting and giving opportunities. Garnacho did fine imo. However, that Donny and Ronaldo pairing absolutely destroyed us today. Neither offer anything, for 45 minutes we essentially played like we had 9 men. Villa dropped off in the second half and pretty much showed how the game would have looked like with pressing from both of them. Ronaldo in particular is clearly holding the team back at the moment. It's quite obvious now. It's really not about his finishing, which has been terrible this season. It's his lack of sharpness when chances are being created, his movement, his reaction time, not to talk about his poor pressing. It's really hurting us and we can't keep accomodating it. I can't wait till the world cup starts, this is something we really have to get a handle on.
