    Passing De Gea and Shaw is disrespectful, unless they specifically declined. In that case I'd give it to Martinez, honestly. You don't give captaincy to someone who was suspended just last week. Unless of course other forces are at work.
     
    Surprised VDB and Garnacho are starting to be fair! Garnacho deserves the chance but ETH is giving VDB another opportunity from the start so he really needs to start showing something.

    Please let this be the end of Martial's injury woes.
     
    Don't like that team at all but I suppose its the best we can do. Can't wait fir another match of trying to spoon feed the ball to ronaldo I don't like the fact he's captain either.
     
    Ronaldo captain? Takes me back to the days Sir Alex would give him the captain armband for some random home games.

    I've been saying this and people are in denial. I keep telling people they are naive if they think ten Hag's decisions haven't been affected by Ronaldo's tantrum and all the media drama it brought.

    I like ETH but he's clearly trading carefully with Ronaldo now. The man hasn't deserved to start all these games since his return, finish them and let alone captain the side after his pathetic tantrum.

    Fair enough, I don't really have a strong opinion when it comes to Fred, McTominay or Van de Beek when it comes to their level. I just know who I don't want them starting over.
     
    I am not one to fuss about line ups but Yikes! this lineup scares me very bad.
    Didn't have confidence to begin with, knowing Villa might have their new manager bounce. This line ups destroys any hope I had

    Nah he's purely in due to injuries. Once they're all fit, Ronaldo will be 5th choice attacker. Maybe even behind Garnacho. But at the moment... He'll probably play the full 90 unless he's doing really bad that Elanga comes on for him.

    Rubbish. Alternatives to Ronaldo are not fit to play. And no, let’s not pretend that Elanga and Pellistri are viable alternatives.

    The second Martial is fit to start matches upfront then that’s what will happen. We all know why that hasn’t happened, however.

    Honestly, I thought he was a great buy and would prove to be a really good goal scoring squad player, but he has been very disappointing in the limited chances he’s had.
     
    Ronaldo captain is absolutely pathetic and shameful decision by ETH. Giving armband to that cnut while having De Gea in the same team is mind blowing

    If he is still starting Ronaldo when Sancho, Antony and Martial are fit then I’ll agree with you.

    At the moment the attack is so thread bare that I don’t think he has a choice.
     
    Donny starting in the 10 over Eriksen could easily cost us all the points here. 4th start for Ronaldo in 11 days isn't good either given his age/form.

    We are pretending he’s still a force prior the the Jan window. Need him to bang in some goals, the media to talk about him again in an good way and then ciao. ETH clearly has no interest in him for next season but realistically we have no one better who is fit.

    Imagine the tantrum Ronaldo would throw if he get subbed earlier than 70'.
     
    Ronaldo currently is like a magic spell in an rpg that only hits/does anything 1 out of 8 times but when it does it hits for 80% of the opponents hp but also means your turn always is last. Elanga is a magic spell that hits every time first time but only does 25% damage.

    Giving him captaincy is a complete joke. Literally he should be the last who gets that. I am ashamed

    Going to be a real struggle as we just can’t score even with everyone fit. No doubt Villa put in their best performance of season as well.

    No problem with DVB starting, he’s been crap but he fits what ETH wants to try and do (in theory at least) and confirms we’ve moved on from Mcfred.
