The only positives from this shambles we have just witnessed is a) it's only three points; b) it's only 3-0 when it could have been worse, a-la 8-2 worse ; c) Martial.

This is Arsenal, ffs. Schooled by Zagreb and Olympiacos, yet made the league leaders look like a pub team. Nearly scored a fourth,

Were not a great team by and standard but we made them look like world beaters, which they are not. Fecking Newcastle gave them better challenge with 10 bloody men.

    Horrific performance from 0-90.

That's football mate. You should give it a go. Unless your in Spain, Scotland or Germany..... You can't predict anything.

Same applies to a few here. Give it a try. Its a not of a ride tbh. Just don't expect perfection every time. You ended up posting utter rubbish 7 days a week on a forum....

But, but we controlled the game?

As most teams do against us every game, Arsenal sat back and let us control the match. Van Gaal will probably say that we were the better team, nevertheless.

    Yeah, we controlled nothing.

Glad it wasn't more. We'll do these at OT and I hope this is the start and end of our 'worstest' performance this season.
There's always a blip and we have overachieved. Back to the drawing board

Pereira, Wilson and Fellaini have to be considered as they are fresher

He needs to be dropped, it's as simple as that. He ruins our momentum with his bad first touches, over running the ball and other general feck ups. I'm not saying we drop him and get rid of him, rather drop him and hopefully he'll get his act together, and come back better.

I agree. However, this would be a huge decision for LVG to make.

Maybe he will be dropped for the next game? See how he reacts when he comes on as a sub?

Whats not debatable though is that Fellaini/Herrera and even Wilson deserve to take his spot right now.

You did see 3-0 loss at Arsenal coming despite the fact we had the best record in the big games of all Premier League teams last season? Should have put serious money on that.

Van Gaal is not a big upgrade on Moyes  I assume you are one of mental Moyes fans who refuse to see how average a manager he is, prefering to hand Moyes hundred of millions is just completely insane but I guess some people will forever buy into chosen one thing.

LvG has done a fine job here. He took over a side in complete disarray, devoid of any ideas and incapable of playing at any decent level. We've progressed a lot since the early days and we've changed nearly entire team, it will take time but this side will come good. We still need a few additions but I trust that we will do well.

Comparing van Gaal who has won trophies in three leagues and was successful at international level with someone like Moyes whose CV is empty of any sort of trophy is just pure idiocy.

Well no sh*t. Give anyone the amount of time and money Van gaal is being given and we will come good but he's not some amazing manager and just because he talks about philosophy or it being a process it doesn't mean he's doing anything special.

And yes, Van Gaal has a bigger reputation but I don't care about that. I care about results and performances. I'm not saying we should sack LVG because that would bring instability but he's not a good manager and he needs to prove his critics like myself wrong with results

Fair play to Rooney, he was awful in the first half, but he's been one of the best players 2nd half.

Thats true, he had alot of drive and determination , just the quality and end product is missing, he was definitely far better than he has been in months, but thats still not good enough, when your supposed to be the main man for your club

The worst I've felt after a defeat for ages. It's the hope that kills you, a couple of days ago I was seriously beginning to think things were coming together and we were going to have a real chance in the league.

Very gutting but the test is to come back v Everton. Teams lose games.

Tbh we could easily have pulled a few back and conceded a few more on another day.

Youre an utter tool. Its a job just like any other and the lack of effort in the first 20 minutes was absymal, it wouldnt be allowed any where else. Some would be removed from their position if they showed up to work like some of our players.

    Clueless.

We'll have to see. Everton and City lose a whole load of players too

Really do hope we can grind out 3 points against everton. Its matches like this that make all the difference. A positive result there will separate go a long way to making us real title contenders.

Who is it when you refer to "we all saw it coming" we have loads predicting we will lose every single game. Youse are bound to be right from time to time

I predicted we would win the Arsenal game. By "we all saw it coming" I meant we all knew we were shite but just scrapping past for results.

I hope LVG accepts responsibility this time

Second half was ok. Quite obviously need another quality attacking option so that we can rotate a bit more. At the moment we have so little competition that Rooney and Memphis keep starting matches despite being horribly out of form. I don't think Carrick can play alongside Schweinsteiger, and I don't think Fellaini is effective in a midfield two. I think people have generally been overcritical of Rooney, but I think he needs to be dropped for the Everton game. We need to play a proper midfield three, and Rooney rarely performs well against Everton anyway.

Bookies had the gooners as 2 goal favorites at one point ;)

We are always tentative as a team for the first 20 or so minutes. Wenger noted that and his players executed the planned blitz perfectly. It helped that all 3 attempts at goal in the first few minutes found success, freaky as it may sound. United never got the chance to come back into the game, which they normally do in other games after the 15 first uncertain minutes. LVG should have had more players protecting our defensive zone in those first minutes.

I think just finishing top 4 is our level. After today I don't expect us anywhere near the title.

I agree about this too especially on item C:

When one starts to build a new team, the building should start from DEFENCE !!

But unfortunately LVG went about it in the wrong way - he strengthened midfield and attack (slightly) but only got Darmian and we have no strength in depth there.

I mean if we have to resort to playing Young and Valencia as fullbacks then we have something wrong.

I watch lots of Italian football and their defence is always strong so if we don't buy players for the back four we are going to struggle tremendously!

The problem is that years of underinvestment, bad investments (ex Fellaini, Young, Kagawa, Zaha, Falcao etc) and bad luck (Jones, Rafael, Smalling and Shaw were/are injury prone) had left United overexposed. By the time the midfield was sorted, the forward line started showing signs of ageing. However I agree LVG underestimated our defensive issue. That's was my concern when we brought the Argentinian Silvestre and when he decided that Blind is a CB

Our results and performances have been much better under LvG. This is the first time we got beaten convincingly by a big team. It happened everytime under Moyes. If you cannot see how much better we've been it's pointless.

Which of van Gaal signings have been bad do you think and Moyes would have got us better talent?

    Clueless.

Sometimes I have bad days at work but I am really glad you don't. Your boss must be very impressed. I bet you make a superb brew.

Have you ever considered shutting up, quitting moaning and giving credit to a team that in those first 20 minutes, tore us apart. We were schooled by a good side (think otherwise and your special, the wrong kind of special).

A bad day at work is very, very different from a distinct lack of effort, something youre clearly incapable of understanding.

If we showed a little more effort to track back, stay compact and fight back and still lose 3-1, then it would make everyone slighly more pleased. That just isnt acceptable.

You seem to be very fond of Arsenal. They are a good side but they are far from special. There is a reason they are mocked for being bottlers as they are consistently terrible against the top teams. A little more effort in the first 20 and the entire game would have been different.

I hope that puts an end to Basti and Carrick starting together in away games. It has to be Morgan alongside one of them, though today we could have used the three of them in the first 20 minutes.

Its like we have a right to win every game and never concede. To do so, since May 2013 is unacceptable, or is it embarrassing?

One things for sure, of we dont win, its all our fault, always, blame lvg, Woodward out, promote Biggs andnthen sack him and then promote Martial to manager.....

    Idiots
