Fair play to Rooney, he was awful in the first half, but he's been one of the best players 2nd half.

Are you sure? The gooners clearly took their foot off the gas in the second half. Rooney also made nothing of note the entire game other than poor first touches and running into blind alleys.

No goal threat at all. Leadership nonexistent.

Feck off LVG just go feck off......the one thing he did right today was pull Depay...other than that.....mind boggling.

Anyone who says Arsenal are not a decent side doesn't deserve to talk about football.

Decent sides can have poor patches of form. Unless you can name one who never has.

    Go for it Hindsight.

This is Arsenal, ffs. Schooled by Zagreb and Olympiacos, yet made the league leaders look like a pub team. Nearly scored a fourth,

Were not a great team by and standard but we made them look like world beaters, which they are not. Fecking Newcastle gave them better challenge with 10 bloody men.

    Horrific performance from 0-90.

Really? We gave up 3 goals in half #1 and have scored nothing in half #2. What exactly has Rooney done -- maintained that 3 goal deficit expertly?

Played a real captains role in inspiring the team to hold out for a 3-0 loss.

A humiliating day for this football club.

No mate. A heavy loss at Arsenal football club.

You would think Arsenal weren't one the countries best sides or that we were playing Accrington.

Its a shit day, it happens. 20 minutes of perfectly executed football from Arsenal. Fair play to them.

I went to hit 'Submit Ratings' without moving the buttons but it won't allow it. I guess I'm not giving ratings this week.

Some people should just stay away from the match day thread when we are losing. God, some of the comments I see are frankly so embarrassing.

We'll just forget about last season, PSV, Newcastle and Swansea then. Not to mention the Southampton game which could quite easily have gone the same way today did after they twatted us for the first 25 minutes.

It's not all been bad and we've looked decent at times, but to try and pretend today is just an anomaly is daft.
I'm not saying we have been great but we are doing well enough

Our points total right now is decent when compared to previous successful seasons. I'm seeing an improvement compared to last season and the season before. Not major steps but an improvement all the same.

In other news watching Bayern destroy Dortmund with some exciting football....far cry from the shite we play every week.

Are you sure? The gooners clearly took their foot off the gas in the second half. Rooney also made nothing of note the entire game other than poor first touches and running into blind alleys.

No goal threat at all. Leadership nonexistent.

He needs to be dropped, it's as simple as that. He ruins our momentum with his bad first touches, over running the ball and other general feck ups. I'm not saying we drop him and get rid of him, rather drop him and hopefully he'll get his act together, and come back better.

3-0. Not an particularly embarrassing scoreline as some are making out.

Brilliant first 20 minutes from Arsenal. Thoroughly deserved their goals.

Poor showing from United. Players looked knackered and not quite focused.

A bad day at the office. But ultimately only 3 points lost. We will come back better.

Rooney walks off and says to carrick, "that was a bit shit wasn't it"

    Watching nbcsn, anyone hear it?

Back to the drawing board. We need to address the Memphis situation. Offers no protection to Young and just don't seem to care much. Darmian is also not having a good time.

Lucky for the scoreline to only be 3-0.

perfect storm for the gooners. Coming off a terrible loss midweek against olympiakos and having their manager absolutely tear into them. You always knew they would be raring to go for this one.

Us on the other hand were just flat, possibly from the fatigue of the midweek fixture? We also set ourselves up very naively to begin the game and it gave them all the space they needed.

Playing midfielders as defenders is also a root cause of getting exposed at the back.

Leadership (and any semblance of a good performance) from Rooney was non existent.

Thank feck its just 3 points. Hopefully we learn something and actually go into the everton fixture with some better ideas.

It's nice from Arsenal to not try to humiliate us.

But, but we controlled the game?

As most teams do against us every game, Arsenal sat back and let us control the match. Van Gaal will probably say that we were the better team, nevertheless.

Maybe even six with that Oxy chance at the end.
Maybes mean nothing. We could have this, they could have that :boring:

Fact is despite a dire performance and a hammering that has been coming, we're still second. I'd still have taken that at the start of the season

    Well, clearly.

It's what you get with having a pragmatic manager.

well, there's the rooney losing the ball all the time(lvG fault as he persists), there is the chance for Martial and Schwein plus Rooneys shot. We got battered the first 20, with a little luck Martial would have put us back in the game. That being said. Everyone was shit today, Martial did alright.

A- Carrick-Bastian shouldn't be used. EVER. Its slow
    B- Rooney is finished
C- Its stupid to expect that Darmian can play in every game. We need real full backs to cover our first team full backs. Washed up wingers should be sold rather than being used elsewhere.
D- Fellaini is not a United level player

I agree about this too especially on item C:

When one starts to build a new team, the building should start from DEFENCE !!

But unfortunately LVG went about it in the wrong way - he strengthened midfield and attack (slightly) but only got Darmian and we have no strength in depth there.

I mean if we have to resort to playing Young and Valencia as fullbacks then we have something wrong.

I watch lots of Italian football and their defence is always strong so if we don't buy players for the back four we are going to struggle tremendously!

The worst I've felt after a defeat for ages. It's the hope that kills you, a couple of days ago I was seriously beginning to think things were coming together and we were going to have a real chance in the league.

Definitely. Everton and Man City aren't going to know what has hit them. When Fellaini elbows the entire team and staff in the face one after the other.

One would hope, but the international break has never been kind to us. Especially when playing away from home.

Glad it wasn't more. We'll do these at OT and I hope this is the start and end of our 'worstest' performance this season.
