how lucky Cech
Let's be fair. Top save.
how lucky Cech
That pleading is especially shocking. There's absolutely no reason to LVG not to be game managing this train wreck. Where's the ruthlessness that saw McNair subbed after twenty minutes at Southampton? He's said on a number of occasions that he doesn't like to change things until half time unless there is an injury or a red card … I've seen Schweinsteiger pleading with his arms up gesturing towards the bench twice so far but he's being ignored
Rooney gets a lot of slagging off on here, but I don't think Memphis has had a strong outing in some time. Shouldn't be starting my opinion.
They'll just pass through us.We need to press higher in this game, we need to force Arsenal to have to play long and negate their high ball speed 1 touch interchanges
Rooney was behind it.9/11 was an inside job.
Being fair a few changes to this 11 (Schneid in for Carrick, Herrera in for Rooney, Blind at LB, Jones at CB and Depay switched with Young) and we'd be fine. This is not a UTD team, it's as simple as that!
maybe they're just as shell shocked as we are, for different reason obviouslyArsenal fans are so quiet, you couldn't tell they were 3-0 up. If it the other way around OT would be bouncing
45+2 min
All United last 17 seconds, come on!
Very possibly. If we score a goal.. they will crumble..
Fergie had the perfect tactics against the gooners. Sit back, absorb pressure/frustrate them by giving them no space for at least 15/20 minutes in the first half and counter attack them. Also involved us playing more physical and putting in some strong challenges.
This was really naïve tactically from LVG.
Memphis is totally crap
I dismal display so far. The squad is too thin. The lack of rotation is haunting us. We have virtually no pace in the team. Too many players playing out of position. I expect us to be better in the second half, but when the game is effectively lost it makes little difference.
It's watching games like this where I long for Giggs to take over for Van Gaal. Do you honestly think Giggs would ever build a small squad with no pace and no genuine width? I don't. He must privately shake his head at some of the decisions which have been made. I have no doubt he's learning a lot from LVG, but if and when he takes over I hope he puts out a team reflective of the way he played the game.
