    Normally, we are confident against the smaller sides, except Arsenal (for all their troubles) are a big club, so I expect our players to be motivated for this.
    And when you add their poor form into the equation, I think this'll be a straight forward win for us.
    And if we do get 3 pts here, then there is a possibility of finishing the season in the top 4 (which I am still VERY dubious about).
     
    Even more sure of defeat if we're forced to play Matic and Fred as our midfield, oh well get our monthly defeat out of the way early eh
     
    Should win this. Is Pogba still pretending to be injured?

    Their poor form was with Emery.
    They were much more impressive against Chelsea despite the end result.
    They will be in our faces and challenging for every ball.

    This will be a significant test for us and we will have to be on absolute top form to get a result.
    But their defence is not good so we should get a goal or two as long as we take our chances.

    I was pretty confident prior to this Pogba drama.

    The timing of this is just fecking perfect tbh. Right before we'd meet Arsenal, Wolves away and City. Right after we've had some momentum. And McT is out for weeks.

    I really hope our players can keep their focus and ready for the tough time ahead.

    Its not finding new ways you idiot. Ole has been defending and bringing u excuses for Pogba for ages. The day before he said Pogba should be available, then a day later (yesterday) he did not travel with the squad. Stop with the lies and say it how it is.
     
    On sky sports news (tv) flashed up Pogba in contention to start today. I hope he plays scores and we win. happy new year.
     
    Whether Pogba is available or not we should be beating them. Their form in the last 3 months has been relegation level

    Don’t know why you’re acting like Solskjaer is the first manager ever to say a player isn’t available and then play him...
     
    I don't rate Arsenal but they are going to be absolutely desperate to get their first win under Arteta and are going to throw the kitchen sink at us.

    Luckily that's exactly how we like to play and I do have faith that Martial, Mason and Rashford (or whatever combination we play) can do some real damage vs Arsenal.
     
    We won two on the trot so fully expecting Arsenal to wipe the floor with us. The players won't be "ready" to fight.
     
    Got a feeling Pogba will be available tonight. Has probably made his own way to London.

    Not sure if we'll start Greenwood, toss up between him and James. Hopefully a start for Pogs. Good to have Matic back as hes the only one who can hold the midfield if McTominay is gone. Rest of team picks itself.

    Matic is too slow for the pace of this game. I think we can play Pogba a little deep and Periera in front of him.
     
    Ah for feck sake why is this at 8? I thought this was a 3 o clock kick off.

    I’m not very confident.
     
    You would like to think as this is a rather big game and with him (Pogba) supposedly being fit that he'd want to feature in this fixture tonight.
     
    I've bitten the bullet and put Pogba in my starting 11, I think Ole's toying with us.

    Sorry buddy, but you will not turn me into a negative nelly for this game. :smirk:
    I have been consistently negative before matches (this season), but I am positive for this one. We have a front 3 in good form, able to score 2+ goals per game.
    Then you have AFC who are terrible. Their new manager is untried and untested. They led against CFC, then reverted to type. Some of their players are so bad, that their own fans boo them! :lol:

    I will also add: no matter how hard some of you try, none of you will be able to reduce my mood or confidence level for this match. I am positive for this one and expect to win by several goals. :D
    As MUFC fans we should expect to see teams in poor form (like AFC), put to the sword.
    And it's new years day...let's have fun and save the grumpy/negative mood for if we lose. :)
