We are due a loss in the league for a while now. Plus Jose spoke about resting players. Might be a 2-0 victory to Arsenal. Unless United finish well.

    Argghhh.

    I hope we don't lose.

    I can't stand those 6thchester jibes.

Hope we make fifth at least and maybe smash Arsenal unbeaten run record next season. :)

Plus, who likes losing to Arsenal? Would rather have Spurs stop the unbeaten run than Arsenal.

i'd suggest taking a gander over to the chelsea thread just afew weeks ago.

I for one look forward to sitting back, well chilled, and checking out what Rafael and Fabio can do on the wings. If we get trounced, even better, we can give Valencia 45 minutes to regain fitness.

    :D

Chelsea lineup was reminiscent of this the other day:

I think that was the point, getting a hard-working performance, getting in their faces and hopefully sneaking a win.

And why I don't even want to entertain the idea of DDG for Isco and whatnot:

They are never going to score

    vds is in goal

Actually thats not half as bad as i expected. I think the reactions these days are much worse.

Partly it's because we were usually comfortable at the top of the league, no need to get desperate. I also blame lineup predicitions, people seem to be more aggrieved they missed 1 or 2 and start ranting against the player they didn't include.

There's absolutely no point going into a meltdown, we don't control the lineup, do we? We don't control anything at all actually, so once it is out there just try think about the positives and what matchups to look out for.

That said, there used to be a poster on here in that run-in when we overtook Arsenal (02-03) who only came into the matchthread to say "Good luck Man Utd, be careful!". We never lost when he did. My last meltdown on a gamethread was when he stopped showing up

I love Isco but I agree with you @antohan . I think people forget how important a top class GK is when I see Butland as an ideal replacement for some. Between Schmeichel and van der Sar showed how important it was. Fortunately we went straight from vdS to de Gea.

I'm really wondering how they lost that game against that team. IMO Schneiderlin was under-rated in this forum, he didn't get many chances under Jose, maybe we could have given more chances to him and then judged him.
My favorite is Sir Alex's 7 defenders team:

    7 defenders????

Was that tactics or all the attackers were injured?

The traveling young players are not included in the line up prediction?

Winning the Europa League means direct qualification to the CL and a trophy. Fourth means we still need to play a CL qualifier and no trophy.

    The decision is easy.

    This.

It would be the strangest season ever if we make top four. The strangest ever.

How many times have we given Liverpool and Manchester City the top four slots on a platter of gold again? Must be like over 10 times without exergeratting.

Injuries + between CL ties (we were playing the second leg against Marseille in a few days).

Fixture congestion has always been there. That isn't the problem, the problem is drawing so many home games made every game a must-win.

    Leaked squad - j/k obviously

    De Gea

    Valencia
    Bailley
    Blind
    Darmian

    Young
    Jones
    Smalling
    Carrick
    McTominay

    Rooney

I'm going to have to pass watching this. Midnight kick-off here and I have a 12 hour teaching day tomorrow, plus getting to work and back.

Mourinho has done a great job at removing pressure for this game. If the players feel no pressure, there's a bigger chance the players enjoy themselves and have a fun game.

arse will be hurting after the defeat to their rivals. But still see us squeezing a 1=0 win.

Bit of a baptism of fire for axel but I would imagine it'll Be a narrow back 4 with a bus infront of it

If Axel`s debut as RB is true...and he gets ripped apart,we all know how someone will see that.

I don't know how I feel about Tuanzebe at RB. He really should be at CB.

He will do just fine if the person ahead of him helps him out defensively.

As long as Pogba starts I'm happy.

Looks like it's going to be a lonely role for Martial. He better be up for it.

If he plays there, he'll be instructed to just shadow Sanchez all game I reckon so he'll end up all over the pitch anyways.

Genuinely really looking forward to seeing the starting XI and I don't care whether it's full strength or full of youngsters. Looking forward to it.

DDG; Tuanzebe, Smalling, Blind, Darmian; Carrick, Herrera; Mata, Rooney, Lingard; Martial

How have Soton been? Deliberating over starting a movie now or watching the Liverpool game before our match.

Yeah I'm the same at the moment. Sort of hoping to see some of the kids.
