    How did Arsenal lose this

My favorite is Sir Alex's 7 defenders team:

Winning the Europa League means direct qualification to the CL and a trophy. Fourth means we still need to play a CL qualifier and no trophy.

    The decision is easy.

    Also -
Europa League = DW and we are in the group stage.
Premier League = WWWW and we might make it into the qualifying rounds.

Same. The only match for me we dared not lose. Miss the intensity of those games.
Growing up during that rivalry has shaped my own thinking. I'd rather see City win the league than Arsenal.

Me too. It was a huge rivalry but what added to it was how disgracefully Arsenal behaved throughout. There isn't a team I enjoy watching United beat more than Arsenal.

We still need to win it though. People are talking as if we're already there. Anything could happen in a final...though I'm quietly confident.

We're not out of the top 4 race yet, no matter what anybody says. I understand Mourinho's thinking though it's still a risky strategy to adopt. He could rest all the first team today and they could still get injured on Thursday, which would make us no better off.

We've only got a few more games left this season. If anything, I would play all the kids or whatever against Spurs as they have nothing to play for now. The Arsenal and Celta games are the season defining games now, especially if Liverpool slip up against Southampton, which wouldn't be surprising. Get a result in those two and the rest of the season will take care of itself.

It'd be great if we rest our first team and still take points off Arsenal, effectively ending their hopes of top 4 whilst we go on and win the EL.

part of me hopes just to escape emirates with a draw. The other part wants a win because it could be the best ArsenalFanTV content ever produced.

IMO we shouldn´t play our best 11 - but at least half of it. I would hate seeing some kind of a B-eleven losing 3-0 Arse and handing them CL football. Of course the current schedule for Pog, Rashford, Bailly and Co is hard but come on, its not impossible, this guys earning more in a week than we do in 10 years, they have to be prepared to play 60 matches a season.

And: Isn´t anyone worried about Ajax? Resting or not, Ajax will be the thoughest game of the season, they will score at least 2.

Wonder if Jose has two teams in mind, bearing on what happens with Southampton v Liverpool

Top 4 is still so irresistibly close, it's impossible to lose hope! I really think it will go down to the final day of the season.

Dangerous game, there will be 20 mins left when we get team sheets for our game and the game could easily swing. Pick a strong side because Liverpool are losing, only for them to score goals to change the result.

I honestly think Jose is too much of a control freak who wouldn't leave it to the minute to decide on the team.

If United get a result today would likely be Wenger's final straw.

    De Gea
    Darmian - Smalling - Jones - Blind
    Carrick - Pogba
    Mkhitaryan - Mata - Rooney
    Martial
    2-0 United

    No.

Mourinho will have worked his tactics and team talks with his starters since Friday.

I've gone with same line-up with the exception of Micki with Lingard.

I think the game that would have any impact on team selection was the city game yesterday. Had they dropped points I think Mourinho would have went all guns blazing vs Arsenal. The Liverpool game is too close as others have stated.

That was a fun read - thanks for that!

There is a very interesting contrast from when Fergie threw up these curveballs to when someone like Mourinho does it (see game vs Chelsea).

Even with O'Shea and Gibson in midfield there was still a hint of optimism and confidence. Compare that to the utter implosion when Mourinho's side was announced, despite it including the world's most expensive player.

I'm still of the opinion we need to go for both the Europa and top 4. Neither are dead certs.

I'm really in the mood to see Rashford start even if it's not the most logical of decisions.

I'd be disappointed if we fielded anything other than the strongest team we could.
We have one foot into the final and they clearly aren't up to our standard, and all we need to do is avoid defeat, something we've been banging on about for the last few months.

Once that match against Celta is out of the way we can concentrate on the league and until the Palace game, we will have a much clearer idea if 4th place is possible and then we can decided upon what team to play at that time. Right now we are still in with a great chance of 4th and winning the Europa league

Hope Mate al plays as a striker. Time for him to step up to the plate and prove himself as a front man.

Rest the team that will play Thursday. We have 1 foot in the final against probably Ajax and it'd be stupid to risk winning the Europa with this fixture list we have in the league.

Today could well be the day for an academy player to step up and make a name for themselves.

If Jose has the balls.

Can someone link me to the travelling squad please

Jose has this setup so we arent expecting to win this match which is clever. Shifts the pressure onto Arsenal and gives us a free swing at them with a young team.

Lets hope he doesnt bottle it and picks his best players.
