Fellaini always gives you a strong performance, lots of effort and heart. The only flaw is the red mist - like he did @the Etihad.We are sitting too deep, that's not good and too early.I really think the strength of Ajax lies in their ability to attack. Their weakness is defending. By sitting back we're playing to their strength. Rashford is isolated. He's being outnumbered and no one is pushing forward to help. Some serious upgrades needed. The result is great, but more than half our current starting eleven is just not good enough.
Mata made the goalIt always seems that our left attacking flank struggles regardless of who plays there. It must be largely influenced by the player playing left back.We're up. That's a positive. However, since the goal, we've dropped back. At 1-0, that can always be dangerous. We've seen it in previous games. We invite teams on to us, and they build confidence.
I wouldn't even mind if we dropped and had a counter threat, but when we win the ball deep, we're all so close together, apart from Rashford, there's no one to hit.
If we're going to play on the counter, we need to probably put ball carriers on. That, and someone who's quick off the ball.
Other than that, it's a final. It was always going to be tight, but this Ajax team is there for the taking. We just need to take advantage of it.

We need to control the game more and retain possession more.
Last year, it was 1-0 to Liverpool at half time. We know how that ended. We need to play with some more intensity in the second half.Our counter attacking has been wasteful and Rashford and Miki are struggling but other than that I think we're doing fine. Ajax have been no threat and we look organised and composed. Not too worried about possession- our time under LVG showed that you need more than possession to win football matches and so far Ajax have struggled to create chances.miki has been very poor and was heading for that booking from early on. and the long ball over the top to rashford hasn't worked one... the passing to him has been poor. Pogs goal was a bit lucky with the goal but actually it was a good lay off to fellaini and from fellaini! damian has been good and blind has been calm but we really really need that second goal- Status
