Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

Is that how much he’s going for- 20 million to Chelsea?
His price for Chelsea is about right. He's a 20M player. Does the odd good thing now and again but over a season just offers nothing like enough.

Chelsea will get shot summer of 2026. Spurs will probably think they can get a tune out of him, then 2028 he'll be off to a lower mid table/newly promoted team.

Average player having average career

I don’t even agree that he’s been ‘absolutely rubbish’. Feels like a crazy exaggeration. It’s been more of a mixed bag with some good and bad games.

The attack has definitely stalled since December, so it’s not just Sancho, but Jackson, Palmer, Madueke etc who all looked good early in the season, fell into a slump at the same time. To me, if the entire attack becomes stagnant, that’s definitely something the manager has to answer for.
That sounds familiar. :)

Not at all. Chelsea will also have to pay 5 extra million in bonuses (half split between United and Sancho) if/when Jadon reaches 10+ assists and goals this season. 5+5 will do it.

So he gets chalked down as an obviously awful signing, but at what point do people concede that ten hag was right to get rid of him as he did?

I don't think you'll find many people here arguing with that. The Chelsea loan is panning out exactly how many of us thought it would and I'm very glad he's not our problem anymore

there was certainly plenty willing to arguing is case aggressively during the original fallout, and racing here when he broke into a sprint at dortmund or shinned an assist for chelsea. hopefully now its an inarguable case of a player we needed rid of.

That always happens whenever we let a player go. The same thing is happening with Antony now. When Welbeck left he was treated like RVP

We'll see how wonderful he is next season if he starts for them. In either case, good riddance.

We should get £25m for him as they'll finish quite high up in the table.

Won the game today with that wonderful pre-assist.
In terms of actual assists is he on 4 for this season? Maybe more? I think he has 2 goals so far.

Was trying to compare the stats of Antony, Rashford and Sancho and I think Antony might end up winning that comparison.

We might be shite but it really doesn’t seem we’re missing much.

Looks like the “obligation” might not actually be an obligation…

I think it's standard practice in contracts but they'd probably have to pay up to avoid signing him.

My guess (and I've been banging on about this several times in this thread) is that the future wages with Chelsea are not agreed and they don't want to pay him 250k p/w to sign him on a 5 year contract. He's basically rotation fodder level being paid superstar wages. If he wants "freedom" then he should reduce his wage demands.

Anyway, I do think Chelsea are being dicks as usual and finding every loop hole possible to exploit.

Imagine being so shit that one club is willing to pay part of your ridiculous wages to get you out and then the club you go to is willing to pay to not have to buy you. oh the people who were adamant he was a big ten hag failing.

So he is so shit that Chelsea would rather pay a hefty penalty, than have a contract put out for him.
Guessing it’s £10m, however they would have to give him a contract on £200k per week for 5 years. That’s £50m plus the £25m transfer fee, it’s really a no brainer from their point of view to pay the Penalty fee!

Oh dear, that doesn’t sound good if they can opt out.

Think it’s more likely he takes a reduced salary and signs for them but who knows.

There won’t be many takers for him if he does come back. Could be the biggest turn around in fortunes ever though…..

Probably pays for his wages next season While we send him on loan again, can’t see Ruben liking him at all!

Wonder what the penalty is. If we can still shift him somewhere else for 20m after it then happy days.

No.

The penalty is just 10M?? Seems like a super low amount.

He will only have one year on his contract left when he rejoins us. If Chelsea have an out, I think they will take it.

We then basically have to find another club that will take him for wages of 100/125k. Then we use the penalty to make up the difference and get rid of him. We probably don’t get 25m for him at this point.

Haha , I was joking. I was against his signing right from us being initially linked to him.

I never rated him and just dismissed him as not very good but actually got in a discussion with a poster in here who highlighted that most of the dissapointment was because he was not a winger in traditional Utd sense, he has a different play style. It was correct as I like wingers who consistently go past players with pace and skill.

Still don’t want him back in the squad as I think he doesn’t have the stomach for the fight so it’s actually frustrating to have to think about him again.

Well to be fair to them, it doesn't make sense for them to commit to a big wage and contract for Sancho now that they have had a year to discover what we already know. Better for them to pay us 10m or something along those lines and walk away.

Paying superstar wages to players like Sancho is the road to ruin, they only have to look at us to see how bad it can get.
