Jadon Sancho - Chelsea (loan) watch

We can't have one day of positive, forward thinking news, without some fecker coming along to stick a pin in it.

Whether or not you're a fan of the new stadium design, or a new build at all, I'm sure everyone can agree that after years of neglect, just seeing the club announce something positive, ambitious and forward thinking makes for a relatively good day.

But no, then this news has to come snaking in, like a turd that won't flush.

The fact we're even having this conversation though, dude needs to leave England for good he's done here.

Jesus christ

As gutted as I'd be to see him mope back into Carrington, that is funny. Paying for the opportunity of a lifetime - to not have to sign good ol Jadon.

What a shambles of a career he's had since leaving Dortmund.

Hopefully the penalty is so significant that we can afford to sell him for a pittance.

Never give a player who has achieved nothing a contract bigger than 97% of professional football players on planet earth, even if it means you don’t get to sign him.

Chris Wheeler is such a shit stirrer. He also tries to force the transfer fees into every mention of our players.

Well to be fair to them, it doesn't make sense for them to commit to a big wage and contract for Sancho now that they have had a year to discover what we already know. Better for them to pay us 10m or something along those lines and walk away.

Paying superstar wages to players like Sancho is the road to ruin, they only have to look at us to see how bad it can get.

It's definitely the right thing to do but I'm still pissed off about it. Let's see .. I'm kinda hoping this is just public pressure on Sancho to make him reduce wage demands.

May I suggest he'll actually be alright in one of the inside #10 roles? We have a nonexistent attack and any incomings might or might not work out, so it might not be the worst thing in the world. We know fans will forgive and forget quickly -- all he needs to do is apologize publicly and score a few bangers.

Guessing it’s £10m, however they would have to give him a contract on £200k per week for 5 years. That’s £50m plus the £25m transfer fee, it’s really a no brainer from their point of view to pay the Penalty fee!
I like how this entire post is based on your initial guess. Pull something out your arse, add some numbers together and make an assertion.

No. He cannot be allowed to put on the Man Utd jersey again. Good luck to him elsewhere.

Problem is not ability. Problem is attitude, and mentality.

He stunk up the place here, and is now doing the same at Chelsea. He'll just do the same again if he returns.

Have Bundesliga FC been in to blame Chelsea not wanting him on Ten Hag's public agenda yet?

Probably not, but the possible benefit for us (assuming we can find a buyer, which is not likely) is that we can make more money with the additional sale.
£15m I reckon would be the sort of fee we could get.

Can’t see any top club going after him. I hope that this talk of them not buying him turns out to be false.

I can’t remember another ‘obligation’ to buy not happening between top level clubs.

Theoretically. In reality, I suspect he will be chilling for 1 year and collecting his 300k wages until his contract runs out.

I didn't think Sancho was shit at United, as someone who never rated him at Dortmund - I felt he was okay but nothing special for his price or wage. Very inconsistent.

I'd still be excited to see him under Amorim if the manager can get some blood pumping in to Sancho again.

Amad and Sancho as attacking midfielders would give us balance even if its not that great.

I reckon he does well under Amorim if this supposed deal falls through. Ruben has mentioned Garnacho becoming more comfortable playing on the inside and has demanded it of him, this is subsequently Jadon's strength while remaining wide is a more fundamental weakness of his. Him / Garnacho with Dorgu overlapping strengthens the attack with reinforcement for the right (Quenda) in the summer.

United don't have the resources to revamp the entire attack in one summer so one less position to worry about is beneficial.

You must be joking. He would fall out with Amorim within a day. Amorim is all about work rate and positive attitude. Jadon is all about chilling and gaming.

Have you watched him at any point in the last 3 years? He's awful. Just abysmal, and constantly seems out of shape, is incredibly slow (was he always this slow?) and has had more than 1 manager question his application. That and he seems to have no interest. To me, even suggesting it is as mental as suggesting we bring Lingard back from Korea.

They didn't pay any loan fee. The penalty fee has to be very high as he now has one year less in his contract.

At least 15 millions, otherwise what's the point of obligation to buy.

The debate really is if we should subsidize his salary for him to go play somewhere else or have him around as a rotation option. We'll potentially save 6-7m by flogging him on loan. He showed enough flashes of quality at both Chelsea and BVB that I think there's at least a rotation caliber player in there and he'd probably do better than Eriksen in that #10 role.

If you're opposed to this as a matter of principle because he insulted the club and don't want him back, then that's fair (I'm sort of in this camp). But otherwise I'd rather have Sancho around than an extra 6m in the bank account.

Everyone speculating on the penalty but nobody has a scooby. What we do know is we still have to pay another 17M to Dortmund this summer so anything less than that and we are looking at another net negative in the transfer budget and we are still stuck with his wages as opposed to a 7M or 8M profit and his wages gone if the obligation is taken up. I cannot believe our new best in class front office would have put an easy get out clause into the loan contract, surely besides the penalty there have to be some sort of conditions that must be met for it to be valid? Of course if the condition is that he is a lazy pointless waste of space then it has already been met.
