He should have come off socials a lot sooner IMO. But it's the right decision to get him back on track

He's massively misunderstood as this lazy arrogant person by many. They're not even close to being correct.

It's obvious that he's not enjoying his football and he's had a poor season. And when you don't enjoy what you do, it's difficult to have the motivation or energy to do something. Anyone who's not enjoying a job or suffers from depression would tell you that. Why he's not happy could be a personal thing, could be the performance levels of both him and the team itself have just sapped his enthusiasm. I believe he definitely cares about the club, and takes criticism more personally than he probably should, because he's hurt by the criticism and remarks about a manufactured attitude problem by fans who don't really have the maturity to understand mental health.

He's had a few issues with the clubbing etc but never seems to have disagreements with the manager, just accepted his punishment and moved on, so I highly doubt ETH sees any issues with his behavior. Hopefully he has a few months off and comes back in a Maguire-esque renaissance. He needs it

Should probably make the social media blackout permanent too, but maybe that's something he'll realize over the coming months.
Not enjoying your football is an excuse that can be made for every lazy player.

I have exactly the same opinion. I see him as the Scholes/Giggs/Neville of this generation and want him to do well and stay his full career here.
Sad reflection of this generation. Giggs, Scholes, Neville were lifers because they were good enough. Many put Rashford in that category purely because they fear their top red membership will be revoked if they don't.

The gulf in the dedication and application between those three and Rashford - before we even get into ability - you can't convince me putting him into the same category isn't all you need to know about how rock bottom standards are at this club now compared to when those three were leaving evening on the field.

Still, he has a tattoo so we should all feel bad for doubting him. That's how it works now. Manchester United. If Martial unearthed evidence of a United bedspread there'll be calls for a new contract and a statue, no doubt.

Needs to grow thicker skin, part of being a top sportsman (esp at a club like United) is being able to shut out the social media criticism. Seems to be pretty mentally weak.

He has personified what the club has been since Fergie left, over paid, mostly underperforming baring some periods of good play, but clearly not consistent enough.

I think he desperately needs a change of scenery and selling him would also be a good start to the full reset of Manchester United since the new owners took over.

My worry is that for a lot of players that grew up supporting the club and through the ranks at a time when we were successful, have this belief that being a United player is an entitlement and not something you earn and fight for and prove your worth for every single week.

The attitude difference between a Rashford who grew up at a time when we were the biggest, best and most successful club in the land vs the likes of Beckham, Scholes and Giggs that were fighting and pressing and developing through the ranks before the success came under Sir Alex. Each man would fight every minute of every match. Battlers. Talents? Sure. But they fought for the club without reservation. Every week. The contrast between that and someome like Rashford who seems to sulk at our apparent lack of appreciation for him.

The class of 92 were stood on the shoulders of giants and earned their legendary status and careers. Rashford seems to stand besides them throwing a social media hissy fit at "haters" who notice he isn't as tall (hard working, talented, dedicated).

That's what I see. Someone who thinks their upbringing in the club is their entitlement to be here and not someone who thinks they need to earn that right every week.

Why can our players not just stay out of trouble and out of the limelight.

Define speeding, are we talking 80mph or 100+? If the former, this isn't much of a story.

For speeding?
Yeah, I overreacted. I think that we should sell him for his shite performances and the fact that he’s not good enough. He only seems to perform well when motivated by a new contract, like last season (by which I mean 2022-23). The least that should be done should be the new manager instilling discipline into him, which he seems to lack.

Disappointing. I felt sure this news would have all sorts of jokes and puns about Marcus never moving so fast etc…. But it’s just a bunch of bitching and whining.
Poor old @rimaldo is this forums Bruno, taking on the work himself and carrying the rest of us. He’s the only one who attempted humour. :(

Not bothered about the speeding. He needs to take accountability for his performances and effort on the field last season. Unfortunately I'm not sure he will. There weren't many times in the last campaign where he showed fire in his belly. Moped around the pitch, got criticised and lashed out against the criticism.

I'm not sure he took anything from his performances last season other than a resolve that it was everyone else's fault, including those dastardly 'doubters'.

No doubt his summer Instagram game will be on point though. Looking forward to some amazing filters to heavily accentuate beads of sweat in pre-season and many motivational captions.

The snow training scenes in Rocky IV will have nothing on it.

He will now complain how the media always has to report the cost of his car when reporting news like this...

"Rashford owns several Rolls-Royce cars, including a £390,000 Black Badge Cullinan and a Cullinan Blue Shadow.
He also reportedly owns a £280,000 McLaren 765 Long Tail and a £350,000 Lamborghini Urus Performante."

(Formatting powers are jacked up atm.)

It's really unfortunate that Marcus has taken to excessive luxury. None of would begrudge him the privileges that come with incredible wealth, and we all understands that he comes from an extremely underprivileged background, but it is irresponsible in the extreme to for him to flaunt this level of extravagance.

Each of those cars is little over a week’s wages for him. If he likes them, there’s absolutely nothing wrong with him owing a few cars. Frankly, they won’t even lose much value when it is cars of that value.

this is from December last year, and it doesn't say how much over the 70 mph limit he was.
How much over the limit do you have to be in England for it to go to court?

Generally you don't get clocked for speeding in a 70 unless you were doing 79+ as there's a tolerance of 10% +2. If you were doing 79-86 and got done then you can get offered a speed awareness course at the polices discretion providing you haven't had one in the past 3 years. Anything more than 86 in a 70 and you don't qualify for the course.

So it's either he's had a course in the past 3 years already, he was doing in excess of 86mph or the police didn't use their discretion re the course.
