Why people think that spending millions upon millions of pounds is as quick as FM or heading on to Amazon is beyond me

And the same people will be bitching about why we always land up paying over the odds -- and calling the management incompetent.

Why everything takes too much time with us is beyond me.

Citeh are still working on Gvardiol a month after it was reported he agreed to terms with them. Romano even did a "Here We Go" for it 5 days ago and it still isn't officially done.

Exactly and we also religiously follow our transfer but not that of other teams so we don't know all the rumours/tweets/chelsea or arsenal are considering a bid etc for other teams. I think we've had a pretty good/normal window so far in comparison to most teams.

We are waiting for Spurs to name Harry Kanes price...

Agreed. My feeling is we are waiting for Bayern's bid to be accepted. We will then match it and Kane will want to stay in the Premier League. Levy would then be forced to sell to us as the owner won't want to let a £100m asset go for nothing next summer.

Saw a clip of that Harry Pinero YouTuber. He's a big Man Utd fan and has been messaging Hojlund on Instagram, he showed the messages to the bloke sitting beside him and seemed very confident it would be a done deal.

Doesn't really matter what Hoijlund sent him, I can imagine Hoijlund is very keen to join and has reportedly agreed personal terms.
Therefore I can imagine the DMs would be posistve about joining.
Doesn't get us any closer to agreeing a fee with Atalanta.

This is all that needs to be said about it. My children can all agree they deserve a PlayStation for Christmas- whether I’m willing to fork up 500 is the only determinant on getting them one or not.

Stone saying not interested in him anyway

I would love it if this were a smokescreen the entire time.
For who? We aren't in for Kane and Mbappe, nor are we in for Osimhen. Vlahovic and Ramos are deathly quiet. The only other one mentioned is Kolo Muani.

There's no guarantee Kane would do that. Bayern are a huge club and more guaranteed to win trophies. He seems like the kind of person who wouldn't want to completely burn his bridges with Spurs fans either. They'd find a switch the Bayern far more palatable, and he knows that.

Pretty sure he has a release clause as well, but City don't want to pay the full amount. Something like €110m.

Yeah he will take the safe option of Bayern

We have money. That's not the issue. We just don't want to continue overspending. And having more money will not help.
Having more money does help and always has. The richest companies buy at the lowest price. Money is power. If Hoj isn’t for sale we’ll buy Kane or Osimhen. Money strengthens your negotiating position.

Great. First we were talking about Kane or Osimhen as our striker choices for 23-24. Then it was Højlund or Kolo Muani. And now we end up with a choice between Jadon Sancho or the bloke sitting next to Harry Pinero on YouTube.

Funny!

I don't see any evidence in that. On top of that, we have money and always had in the last 10 years. That has never been the problem. It has always been that we are overpaying and thus selling clubs now they can ask a lot from us. The only way for that to stop is to stand our ground. More money doesn't help with that.

To get a low price you have to convince the seller that you have options, that you can walk away and do better elsewhere. Do you think Atalanta believe we have the money to buy someone else of the same quality or better? Perhaps you do but nobody else does.

Arsenal have done it to be fair and us and many others in the past. But yep some deals are more complicated than others I’m sure. The problem with potential these days is you have to pay such a premium and I’d say it’s pretty 50/50 if those young players go on to fulfil it…that sometimes buying the finished product for your main number 9 is the safer bet. Kane and him would be the dream.

You want us to spunk 60m on such a raw talent? The club are right to tell Atalanta to feck off with their United tax and demand a more reasonable fee.

Similar to how half the forum says we should go for Muani? And how the media is saying we are now interested in both Kane and Mbappe?

And how we bluffed Chelsea that we would go for Caicedo?

And how we bluffed Inter we would go for Bijlow and Verbruggen?

Feels like media outlets keep rehashing the same thing about formalising interest "in the next few days." Basically nothing definitive or a commitment to a scoop. I don't think they have a clue.

Formalise our interest? What exactly have we been doing all this time, then, just staring at him or something?

That's just one part of many in our strategy when we buy players... we're just about to reach the final part in the Sneijder purchase and he's expected for a medical later this week. Perhaps in 48 hours

I had a dream last night where I was teaching GCSE level geography to a classroom full of geese, and when I asked one of the geese to answer a question he just said "HONK" and a mass brawl kicked off. I had to run into the store room and put my boxing gloves on, but they were too small to put on. Then Andrew Tate, who was my sidekick, helped me beat the shit out of the geese. Once we had won the fight I called Tate a cnut and started eating cream eggs from the secret pocket in my cardigan.

Make of that what you will.

Perfectly summed it up in a couple of sentences, just how clueless and uninformed the average football fan is when it comes to transfers.
