If you are shopping at Aldi you might be right but it’s not like there are ton of strikers available for lower price to play for United currently. To get a low price you have to convince the seller that you have options, that you can walk away and do better elsewhere. Do you think Atalanta believe we have the money to buy someone else of the same quality or better? Perhaps you do but nobody else does.
Thanks!! Good to get an opinion from someone who’s watched him a lot.Me i've seen him in all games he played for our club (Sturm Graz), home games in stadium. He is a very physical player with a topspeed of 36km/h (thats even faster than Rashford). So in transit/counter he turns into beast mode, really awsome to watch that. And he is a teamplayer, doing much hard work on the pitch for the others ! I think that comes from him having almost same aged brothers, he was also highly liked by his teammates. Would agree if some call him raw still but from what i've seen from him in Bergamo (also watched some games live of them) he did make huge steps forward in technique/precision.
My personal top 5 under-20 strikers in Austria would be (in that order) :
Dont get me wrong, Šeško is a good player but the others here are better imo. And its much easier to score for RB Salzburg (serial champion) as it is for Sturm Graz (vice champion since 2 years). In any way Austria has become a great breeding ground for young talent (not strikers only). Our (Sturm Graz) latest signing is 19yo scottish defender Max Johnston from FC Motherwell.
- Erling Haaland (RB Salzburg, sold to BVB due to exit clause for just €20m)
- Rasmus Højlund (Sturm Graz, sold to Atalanta Bergamo for €17m plus addons)
- Sadio Mane (RB Salzburg, sold to Southampton for €23m)
- Emanuel Emegha (Sturm Graz, sold to RC Strasbourg for €12m plus addons)
- Benjamin Šeško (RB Salzburg, sold to RB Leipzig for €24m)
I think you can do it if you are starting from a position of strenght and have a systematic succession plan at your club. Brighton are a great example of doing this well. The replacements have been bought before the need arises and so they are never desperately crying out for their replacement player. To get a low price you have to convince the seller that you have options, that you can walk away and do better elsewhere. Perfectly summed it up in a couple of sentences, just how clueless and uninformed the average football fan is when it comes to transfers.
I think you’re cute.I hate these hints. Just tell us.
Okay, he's literally Fiorentina's 16th all-time top scorer. In like two seasons. Penalties or not, his goalscoring record was quite something playing for a mid-table side at best.Vlahovic has, at most, scored 15 open-play goals in Serie A during a season, while Højlund has 9 in much less time played.
It really isn't a big difference, and saying "nowhere near Højlund" is just an overexaggeration
Definitely don't think it's too early to say that even if Antony improves we've WAY overpaid and probably by about 300%. Antony was a ridiculous player for EtH to stake his reputation on at that price. I love Ten Hag but I definitely have concerns about his player ID. Antony, who I actually think has improved us, does not have anywhere near the goal production needed to justify even a €50mn fee.
I remember reading that even in his previous roles EtH was heavily criticised for signing past players who were used to a lower level and who didn't translate their performances to that higher level. Comments such as "if EtH thinks they're good enough, that's fine by me" grate a bit for this reason. We'd have signed Arnautovic if it was left to him.

I don’t want anything. I’m just saying the more money a club has the easier it is for that club to do business on its own terms.Tell me one team that does multiple deals at a time.
I fail to understand what you want. For us to shop in bulk? What exactly is the aim here?
True.If you are shopping at Aldi you might be right but it’s not like there are ton of strikers available for lower price to play for United currently.
The market is incredibly shallow at that position.

United have fallen so far that we are essentially building the club from scratch and due to some weird things in the market like a dearth of elite strikers and dms, we are paying a hefty premium for each player we target. Hopefully it's something we really improve on but I'm not sure the right people are in place to do this based on recent history.
60m is already beyond reason tbqh
The times are more likely to know more than you tbhWhy do the English press insist on blabbering on about this £85m figure? It's utter nonsense.

Given the anti-Kane briefs today, sounds like it would be Kolo-Muani from most reportsWhat's the plan B if Atalanta don't budge?

There’s our problem. We can’t afford anyone better and it’d be pointless buying someone worse. What's the plan B if Atalanta don't budge?
Personally I'd look for a RW for that £60m. Someone who can score goals and improve the attacking unit as a whole. Then revisit a striker next summer. Last thing we should do is go for Ten Hag's 3rd or 4th option from the Dutch league and end up with some shite Weghorst typeWhat's the plan B if Atalanta don't budge?
That’s what the tweet says but how on earth could the Italian media dictate how we do business? It’s gibberish.Smells like brief, not letting the Italian media dictate how we are doing business it seems. Still think it gets done but we are playing hardball, which is good.

Thinking we should waste money on a subpar bargain bin alternative if the good strikers are out of reach is also stupid
