I think Ashley Young might be a good player for them, despite his age, but I think the fact that he seems like a good signing is probably a cause for concern.

Dyche is probably a good enough coach to keep them up but I'd dreading the upcoming season if I was an Everton fan.
If there’s any fan base that’s desensitised to dread, it’s Everton’s.

‘Yay, can’t wait for (yet) another season of awful signings, boardroom squabbles, sacked managers, and avoiding relegation by a cat’s cock hair’

You missed 'and barely laying a glove on their so called bitter local rivals home or away'

He's not just a poor footballer, he's a terrible footballer. Has only one half decent quality. His pace. He is awful at everything else. Getting £20m for him would be a minor miracle on par with what we got for Dan James.

No he is not - he was head and shoulders above everyone else at our U21-side a few seasons ago - and granted that was a fairly mediocre side but there were a couple of decent footballers there. Why do you think so many clubs are interested in him if he is a terrible footballer ?

It's just trendy to shit all over someone if they're not world class at 21 these days!

He's 21 and he's fast. There will always be clubs interested. Dan James who had not an Iota of football brain was bought by someone for £20m+ even after seeing how awful he was for us. At the right price, just about any player will attract interest from somewhere. Does not say much about the player's ability. The fact that a 21 year old international is commanding only £20m offers in this day and age of sky high prices for even a tiny bit of potential should tell you something. Academy players who have never played PL football at City are commanding close to that.

As far as him being head and shoulders over his U21 class, I think you answered the question yourself. How many of those players are playing high level football now? Being the best of a below average bunch is not an endorsement of ability.

How many U21 players have been world class in the last 100 years? Nobody is asking him to be world class. But he does have to be a net plus to the squad and he simply is not which is why he doesn't play.

Is this still about Elanga?

He obviously doesn't do something Ten Hag wants of his forwards, otherwise would've played more minutes.

If Elanga wants to play regular football, he'll push to leave.
If Ten Hag sees him playing serious minutes that can easily go to Pellistri, he won't be allowed to leave unless being disruptive.

I think there's enough smoke to determine there is fire, aka willingness to sell. So, either Ten Hag doesn't seem him part of the team, or Elanga has been disruptive about wanting minutes. I doubt the latter, so will take the former, and move on.

That's a very different statement to being a terrible footballer. He was a net positive in the Rangnick season, he just doesn't fit the style we want to play now. That doesn't make him terrible, he's 21 for fecks sake.

The guy has played 11 times for Sweden, 55 times for United at the age of 21 - he might not be good enough to play for a world-class team - but to call him terrible is just stupid.

Or Thursday or another day or whenever ,this reporting is just BS. They say so much without ever saying anything. Link us with everyone and hopefully eventually something sticks .
He knows how to milk a story with 'non information' updates

Does that mean were now 3m closer to getting Onana?
It’s better than that all are academy products so theoretically the £2.5m from three sold is net profit multiply by 5 length of a new contract and you have an extra £12.5m

ChatGPT could replace Fab completely. Hell a simple kids phrase generator probably could. Suggest something has happened today and that something significant will happen tomorrow... each and every day.

That said, if Inter fly out on tour tomorrow, it's pretty obvious Utd will cough up the 2-3m extra required to close the deal to avoid that.

We'd look pretty damn stupid going on tour without signing either a goalkeeper or a striker, and this is first in the sequence.

Potentially £50m for both Henderson and Elanga, hopefully more to follow with McT + Fred that would fetch close to £90-100m in total

Steady on, according to the Mirror, the fee for Elanga is between £8-10m. Henderson seems to be £15m guaranteed with a further £15m in potential addons. That's what city are getting for their youth team players. We'll get £15m for Fred and £20m tops McT.

Where are you getting £50m and £100m from? I think we get £75m tops for the lot and that's including add ons.

Henderson 25, Elanga 15, McT 25, Fred 15 = £80m

Think we should get slightly more for McT, but we will have done well if we managed to get rid of all 4 in one window.
