If he's indicted & convicted, he won't be able to run.
If he's under criminal prosecution he can't, aside from that there is no security clearance checks or anything for a presidential canditate. If that was the case he wouldn't have been allowed to run the first time around.
This is doubtful. Nothing in the constitutes says so.
Eugene Debs ran for President from prison. Wasn't the "can't run" thing just related to the impeachment(s)?
I believe there is also language in one of the statutes he was charged with that bars someone convicted from holding federal office. However, the constitution lays out specific criteria for being eligible for the Presidency, so I bet that portion of the law would be overturned. Rightly in my opinion. Conviction after impeachment is the only constitutional way of barring someone from running for the Presidency.
Imagine the Trump rallies at the federal prison.

He’ll die in the next few months of drug overdosed induced heart attack. His paranoia would be off the charts right now and I doubt he’s sleeping.

Trump kicking the bucket before 24 is, in my opinion, the absolute worst outcome. If he dies the MAGS lunatics will make him a martyr and propel his successor, likely DeSanctis.

Well... In the past his teflon-coating mostly revolved around him being a sitting president, getting his DOJ stooge to rule that a sitting president can't be indicted and having the power to pardon his lackies that might have otherwise have ended up testifying against him to save their own skin.
Now that he doesn't have that power and with the reports becoming more damning by the day, my wishful thinking is at least a bit higher than usual.
There's also the fact he can't really be be 'one step removed' from the actual act of the crime in this case, like with a lot of his other crimes, as he is the only one that personally had the power to remove these documents. He has confirmed this himself with the lacklustre attempts to defend his actions by pretending he has the power to declassify them, can do what he wants with them, etc.

Anyway, we're still waiting for the DOJ to give a response to Trump's request for a "special master" any minute now.
It won't be the crazies or Alex Jones types making up the conspiracy theories. If death rids the GOP of their huge problem (Trump and his grip on a massive base), they will weaponize it in a way to rile the base up against the Democrats behind the support of their next guy (probably DeSantis). You'll have the likes of Cruz, Graham, etc talk about how it 'doesn't seem like he died naturally, all the doctors said he was in great shape', basically insinuating that the Dems had something to do with it because they were so afraid of him.
That's the only way they can take over that base, otherwise they risk losing many of them to apathy (Trump was their god king) or have them splinter to different levels of crazy (Q types going for the most deranged, unhinged candidates). The GOP reallllyyy needs to take control of the government to stop a lot of these investigations that are going on which probably puts many of them in a bad light, not to mention whatever Russia has on them

I'm not on schedule with Law and Order, but aren't lying to the FBI, stealing highly confidential documents from the White House and hiding/withholding key information related to a federal case, all criminal offences? And that's before considering the treason angle.
