We‘ve got to hang on until the ffp hammer beats some sense into Brokelona.

And no, we are not taking responsibility for the 17 mill they owe Frenkie.

If Chelsea come in last minute and just use our months of negotiations to know what fee & wages to offer him.. I fear for ETH
I'm not scared of Chelsea, I genuinely think he has no interest going there. Or England for that matter.... ETH being the key here.

Why would he all of a sudden be happy to leave Barca if Chelsea come in for him? Don't see any reason he should prefer joining them over us.
Even the spanish journos saying he doesn't want to leave, say he is in daily contact with ETH. It's quite likely that if he would decide to leave, we are in pole position.

I think the idea is if he's forced out of Barca and has to leave, he may prefer Chelsea for London life & CL football.

You do realise that Manchester is in England, don’t you?

I personally think he's prefer to be the star player in a United team and have everything built around him to be fair. Plus the ten Hag link would be very strong for him.
If he's assured ten Hag that he wants to come, i don't think he'd backtrack and want to go to Chelsea, seeing as if they were interested, he'd have been aware of said interest for a while now

I don't understand this use of "to be fair". Why would we need to be fair with you presenting something that is admittedly nothing but your opinion, an opinion that happens to conveniently allign with what you want to happen as a Man United fan no less, as an argument in a discussion?
We don't need 'to be fair' to this point of yours, it's clear it has very little value.

He can type what he wants, to be fair.

It's something i always say, even in every day life. For you to personally attack me on that seems a bit much doesn't it?
Really no need for it as i've always said everything i say is my opinion.

Think you got Manchester and L*verpool mixed up there my friend.

Hey they're both Monte Carlo compared to my original home town. But if I lived in Barcelona I'd probably not fancy it either.

Panic on the streets of Barca
Panic on the streets of Salford
I wonder to myself
Could life ever be sane again?
The Catalan side-streets that you slip down
I wonder to myself

Hopes may rise on twitter
But transfer muppets, you're not safe here
So you run down to the safety of the ‘caf.

Hang blessed Laporta
Because the BS that he constantly spouts
It says nothing to me about Frenkie
Come and Play for ten Hag
Because the football he is trying to play
On the Manc side-streets that you slip down
Make sure to run don’t just jog 'round

Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ
Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ
Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ
Frenkie DJ, Frenkie DJ

Morrissey might have thrown in more xenophobic words!

It’s a turn of phrase not to taken literally.
Exactly, it's something i say i every day life thats transferred over to how i type on here.
Everything is opinion on a forum until we know the facts, nothing unusual about that.

It's not happening, and I'm sure most people realise it by now even if they won't publicly admit it because of the whole hardcore muppet routine.
Thanks for letting us know. We’ve been waiting for this update. Say Hi to Margaret from me.

He’s a Bayern fan. They are usually pricks, to be fair. Not sure if that’s the right way to use it either.

The funny/ironic thing about these "Frenkie wants to stay in Barcelona" news stories being put out daily by the Barcelona press is that, if anything, they are actually undermining Barca's negotiation position. The press think they are sticking it to United (and the city of Manchester) with their typical Barcelona FC snob attitude, but really they seem to be making it tougher for their club to weasel out of the money they owe Frenkie - money they clearly do not want to pay.

The club wants to get rid? Yeah they do and it's surely not a great feeling, but I doubt they tell him to his face, I doubt it's part of his relation to the manager or teammates, nor will it have consequences once he has stayed. Look at Dembélé.

Well (to be fair) they announced it to the whole world, not just him.

Agree with the rest, although it is really speculative. Personally, I would go where I feel wanted and think I can make the most out of my career. At this point, that certainly doesn't look like Barcelona. Not just going by this summer, but the way he developed, or to be more precise, didn't develop further as a player since coming there.

Definitely the strangest transfer saga ever, this.

Deal agreed with club who want to sell him, but he and his entourage have remained completely silence, and are just carrying on as if nothing is happening. It's amazing.

Weirdly enough, that's exactly what I would do if my employer was trying to shaft me.

Yeah, was thinking the same... Would put my best Dumb and Dumber impression.

All this talk about living in Manchester…. he wouldn’t would he if he joined United - he’d live in leafy Cheshire which can hardly be described as ugly!!

There is so much vocal press now about him categorically NOT wanting to join, is it even a good idea for him to join us anymore?

Now, Spanish outlet Sport has claimed that De Jong has absolutely no interest in heading to Old Trafford this summer and would rather head to Chelsea should he be pushed out of Barcelona for a move to the Premier League. :nono::nono::nono:

Sport really are a parasite at the moment aren't they?

It’s a colloquialism. Just a figure of speech- English is a strange language, but you don’t have to treat everything as literal. ‘To be honest’ is used the same way and clearly the definition of honest and the definition of fair are slightly different.

You should have stopped typing after the first sentence, to be fair.

So slap the money onto the fee for Barca and have them pay it out.
That's not helping Barcelona. The 17m € will the be added to their wage bill.

The a higher signing bonus or wages are the better solution.

They most likely are, just as the Daily Mail are parasites as well as most tabloids. But are they wrong about this? I hope so, but it is hard to see any upsides in this transfer saga anymore, which is disheartening as a United supporter :(

They've been wrong about everything they've reported in the last few weeks. Infact it was reported in Spain that de Jong wasn't interested in joining Chelsea even if they did bid. I think it was even sport that said he didn't want to join! Might be wrong on that though

Stop reading the bs coming from Spain.

Yeah Barça is run like a Swiss clock :lol:

Laporta is like a banana republic dictator buying new toys while the country is flat broke.
