You think any other club would be stupid enough to pay 18 million per year to a declining keeper who is not even first choice for his country. I would gladly trade him for free if there is any taker.
Of course not but if he's no longer the #1 and wants to move, chances are he'll drop his demands to get the move. Let's see what happens when he's on the bench for the first few weeks of the season before the window closes.

I do not think he will be stupid enough to let go off 36 millions in 2 years to play. He knows he can move for free in 2023 so why bother. He will still manage a good pay cheque from a new club as he will be available for free. This is something similar to what Bale is doing and what Sanchez did with us.

Does his agent get a cut of the transfer fee?
Anyway.. Inter getting money is good.. a large chunk of it will come to us for the Lukaku transfer

Might suprise you but not every player is like Sanchez and Bale.

DDG's situation is nowhere near the same as Sanchez or Bale. Bale checked out of football several years ago. He's got a contract he knows they have to honor. He's happy playing gold between training sessions collecting that fat payday. Sanchez wanted out soon after he signed. Ole didn't want him either. No idea how the deal was struck that got him to Inter and whether we're subsidizing his wages but he was a loaner and probably didn't gel well with the rest of the squad. He needed to go at all cost. Not the same with DDG.

If the news in the article are words out of Ole's mouth, he's setting the tone for what's going to happen and DDG might decide to call it a day at United.

Except with a proper CDM we still need to drop Bruno deeper? So it's not just one thing. And that still wouldn't work.

When Matic came in he was fine. I'd imagine someone thought they were getting a bargain Kante with Fred.

Why bother persisting with a player that wants to leave?

At both Juve and for France, Pogba has had the luxury of having two ridiculously hard working defensive minded midfield players next to him. Bruno won't be like a Matuidi or Vidal. A midfield three with Pogba and Bruno won't work, no matter who the CDM is.
I disagree with the bolded, I think it definitely can, we just need to recognise his weaknesses and sign a player that can partner him efficiently in order to unleash the positives (like we see for France.)

It doesn’t have to be Kante in order for it to work against 90% of teams.

If he wants to go then I agree it’s best to get rid.

I'd be very happy with around £50m for Pogba. People need to get a reality check and realise he's never going to renew. It's either sell for money this season or lose for free next. There's no alternative. There are some very good midfielders available atm, it would be a good time to strengthen the position. We should be doing this anyway and it's very alarming the lack of links with any cms when we need them so desperately, especially a dm/more defensive cm. Locatelli had looked very good in the few matches I had seen him in before the Euros, his stats look excellent and his performances for Italy at the Euros so far have been excellent, he'd be a great option imo (and available for €40m apparently, which seems like a bargain for a player of his talent). Aurélien Tchouaméni would be a great option in midfield, great box to box cm with fantastic tackling who could play a more straight forward dm role if we want him to. If we were to sell Pogba I honestly don't see any reason we couldn't go for both. They'd probably only cost about £20-30m more combined than what we would get for Pogba.

If it goes beyond this window without signing a new contract, we’ve lost whatever he’s worth
Unless he fires us to a PL/CL title, but I somehow doubt Ole is gonna make much changes to accomodate him if he aint resigning..

Well that’s been shown up as bollocks a hundred times but is always conveniently ignored.

It’s a signing that didn’t work out so far, a la Klebersen, Poborsky and dozens of others, they happen.
Has it?

He begged him to sign was the story. Certainly hasnt looked like a man who begged him to join since day 1.

Don't believe everything you read or are told. Ole wanted Sancho and Grealish. They gave him Donny. Never been more convinced of anything ever.

UTD! I am not fond of the Glazers.
What a whiney prick.

We rightfully didn’t pay 120m for Sancho last year, we progressed in the league, on points and in the cups, and now we’re hopefully buying a long term target rather than scattergunning it LVG style when Dortmund didn’t drop their demands last year.
So yeah it’s fecking progress you whiney cnut by every fecking metric you can find, progress in how we have done on the pitch and progress in how we have long term targets and planning for the first time since SAF.
You clearly don't understand the context or you are happy with Glazers. Either way, not good.

Is Liverpool digging for Baumgartner? - Hoffenheimer a successor candidate for Wijnaldum
The Liverpool part summarised:

What's important, however, is that Manchester United are also mentioned, and their mention isn't from the Liverpool Echo article. Basically, United registered their interest in Baumgartner at the start of 2021, and they're monitoring him at this time.

Can't spell Mkhitaryan
It's not much, but Bayern aren't willing to spend that amount on Dumfries. My guess is they don't value him that much, but he's still an option for them.
If these reports are true, I'd imagine Dumfries would tell them to go get fracked! I'd want a team that actually wanted me!

He's looked solid in these Euro's, easily worth 15 million.

I'm sure he'll get snapped up.

You won’t buy a player with more Ability than Pogba for £80 mil. You just won’t.

It will be squandered on shite signings like trippier and the like, whilst we lose a world class talent. Sorry but nobody can dress up the situation of losing Pogba as a positive to me.
No, but you'll likely get a player who will play consistently, not just once in a blue moon or when they feel like it.

Why on Earth don't we just go for Dumfries? Younger and cheaper option to Trippier, plus would no doubt be a boost to Van de Beek and help him kick on.
[/QUOTE]
So all VDB needs to kick on is a fellow Dutch man in the squad ?
Strange take

  • Possible loan + buy option for Frabotta to Genoa
  • Frabotta will take Luca Pellegrini's place in Genoa, who'll return to Juve and take Frabotta's spot.
