What every other team would ask is irrelevant, if we had a better negiating front office then yeah but as it is with matt judge in charge, I'll take the 40m if offered it..
No it isn't irrelevant, these are our peers and the teams we want to be going shoulder to shoulder with. We were better than PSG last time we played them, letting them have one of our best players for £40m is terrible business and puts us further and further away from where we want to be as a team.

Would be a good deal for us. Not sure yet who we will replace him with, but I'm sure we can find someone who will provide more consistent performances for us than Paul has done.
You won’t buy a player with more Ability than Pogba for £80 mil. You just won’t.

It will be squandered on shite signings like trippier and the like, whilst we lose a world class talent. Sorry but nobody can dress up the situation of losing Pogba as a positive to me.

Maybe not someone with more ability, but we can always get someone who's a better fit and more consistent.

I'm guessing RMC Sport are disclosing much of this news via their TV channel because I don't see anything on their Twitter accounts or their website.

English Tweet:
  • PSG, Sevilla, Manchester United, and maybe Chelsea are interested in Ramos.
  • PSG are concerned by his salary demands (12 million Euros per season) as well as his fitness levels.

An absolute pull from Leicester.
Indeed, and Leicester will be a good club for him to continue his development. He's still quite raw, and he won't be under pressure to instantly deliver like he would in the other big clubs. Leicester will give him the chance to iron out his game and get better like they did with Iheanacho, Maddison, Tielemans, Ndidi, etc.

Yeah we can get a solid player who’s more consistent but in what sense? To play in a midfield two?

If that’s the case we will still be partnering them with Scott or Fred anyway and we will lose Paul’s passing range and ability on the ball.

We just need to buy an actual DM to partner Pogba. That would improve us massively.
Improving on Pogba is much much harder in reality. Imo.

We should be keeping our best players and building around the spine of the team.

I think they will pay 60m atleast. Don't forget they have to keep Mbappe happy for him to renew so I expect them to spend big on both Pogba and Varane.
Thats a fair amount. We should take it and run.

Honestly we should just cash in on Pogba and rebuild the midfield properly. Start with someone like Locatelli and then someone else next summer. A great player but honestly I'm tired of it all. With Bruno in the squad we will never be able to field the mid 3 he needs to thrive in any case.

We need to get a proper defensive CDM and drop Bruno deeper. There always seems to be something we have to do to accommodate Pogba, a player that has always flirted with a move and doesn't want to sign a contract.

Ironically there’s been just one thing we need to do and that’s sign a proper defensive CDM, which we haven’t since Grampa Matic rolled in.

We done nothing to accommodate our most expensive purchase.
This is what makes me laugh. We bought an number 8 in Fred and a semi retired Matic. Come off it.

Additional Tweet with some more info:

110k per week is a deserved amount given how good he's been for Arsenal.
Surprised he hasn't got any better options; injuries obviously a big part of his story, but still thought he could do better than current Arsenal.

The important parts:
  • Tom Heaton will sign as a free agent next month.
  • Lee Grant has yet to accept his one-year contract offer.
Ole needs to be held accountable first for awarding de Gea such a ridiculous contract.

Except with a proper CDM we still need to drop Bruno deeper? So it's not just one thing. And that still wouldn't work.

When Matic came in he was fine. I'd imagine someone thought they were getting a bargain Kante with Fred.

Why bother persisting with a player that wants to leave?

At both Juve and for France, Pogba has had the luxury of having two ridiculously hard working defensive minded midfield players next to him. Bruno won't be like a Matuidi or Vidal. A midfield three with Pogba and Bruno won't work, no matter who the CDM is.

Thats simply not true. Hes always saying he's on the phone to his source. You would have thought he was training beside Diallo himself the way he kept pretending he had inside knowkedge of how good this unknown prodigy was. Just last year he kept breaking his ITK bullshit about how we had signed Sancho.

At what club Manager actually decides Salaries of the players, you can always trust posters on Red Cafe to find something totally outrageous and stupid thing to moan about.

So losing him for free next summer to a Euro rival is a better alternative in your eyes? I highly doubt he renews with us.

As I said managers do decide if they want to keep a player or invest that amount elsewhere. It was Ole who decided to keep de Gea for an astronomical sum of 18 million per year.

Perhaps at some clubs. I can say at Chelsea the manager gets to give his opinion, but has no final say on any player or terms of contract.

Do they? The club signed Donny Van De Beek who the manager clearly didn't want.

Jose wanted Martial sold. The club said no.

Why do our fans not learn anything from the last 8 years? Managers have got stuff wrong of course they have but the real failure has come above them.

There is no proof Ole did not want DVB. Martial is an exception as owners directly intervened.
Similarly if Ole wanted de Gea gone and Henderson and Romero to fight for number 1 position he could very well have done that.

fitness concerns? Extortionate wage request? This sounds like Ed and Judges perfect signing

The board did not think twice before selling Lukaku because Ole did not want him... he had trust in Martial and Rashford.

There's a big leap between being negative and being aware of your current situation. I genuinely don't think we'll win the league under Glazer ownership & trying to invent small wins by acting like we saved money on a signing doesn't fill me with hope. We might aswell wait another 2 years and get Sancho for free, that way we've saved £100m, right?
No, I can see your point pal.
They did mess last summer's window up.

And I suppose no-one truly knows the price quoted last season, and what we actually buy him for this summer (if we do).

For starters, the press love to quote the absolute maximum fee it can end up being. Which as seen with the likes of Martial very often isn't realised.

I'm yet to see any concrete proof that VDB signing was against the manager's will. Seems like just a 1+1 assumption.

The board also signed Bruno who has been a big reason of the improvement in our results so Gold bless them, should get full credit for it.

United should not touch him with a bean pole.
He used us worse than any other player, for that reason alone we should ignore any calls. I do feel like we may make a move for him though if we can't get Varane. I feel Ole will prefer him to people like Torres.

Would make sense to move DDG on this season if he's willing even if Henderson is not the long term solution. DDG could continue to decline and make it even more difficult to move him on in the future. Yeah, he could return to his former glory but lets face it, that is not likely to happen considering his decline started about 2-3 years ago.

You think any other club would be stupid enough to pay 18 million per year to a declining keeper who is not even first choice for his country. I would gladly trade him for free if there is any taker.

I’d be quite happy to have both Henderson and De Gea if Ole can keep them both happy.
