Any new manager is stuck with:
Shaw
Young
Lindelof
Jones
Bailly
Matic
Fred
Mata
Pereria
Rashford
Lingard

All players that arent good enough. They have continuously failed. Some under 3-4 managers. You could add a few more to the list.

Where is the will to replace all these bottlers? What manager would take on the job?

The 'Ole out' group see that list as world beaters under any other manager.

I feel sorry for him. He has to work with the dumbest and useless bunch of players in the premier league.

I don't think people are expecting a miracle or for us to turn into challengers over night and we all know the squad isn't the best but it is quite clear we are making absolutely no progression under Solskjaer, I love the guy but for goodness sake, we are six games into the season and we have already dropped points against Wolves, Palace, Southampton and West Ham and in none of those games would I say were we 'unlucky'. Then you look back at last season and those performances against Cardiff and Huddersfield. Maybe a handful of players from these sides would get into our team.

He's been here what ten months and I still don't know what our style is, he's said the right things and wants us to press and play quickly but I don't ever see it. There's been literally no tactical development, there's no difference to how we started under Mourinho last year.
I get that we have injuries as well but even before then some of his team picks were alarming, his substitutions have been strange as well.
Under LVG and Mourinho although it all went wrong there was clear and visible improvement in between that initial 6 months to one year period. Under Ole, it's just getting worse and worse.
I know hes not completely in charge of recruitment but what the hell was he thinking leaving us with two senior players who can play as striker, it's madness. He should have been banging on the door of Woodward trying to get an extra body or two in.

I'm not knee jerking nor do I think there's a quick fix but this is exactly how myself and a lot of people saw this going. It was a huge mistake making him the permanent manager, we've backed ourselves into a corner now. It IS going to get worse, football isn't magic, there won't be a sudden change in fortunes but you should see gradual changes and improvement, I see nothing.

Yes and then he sold Fellaini, Lukaku, Herrera and Sanchez and never replace anyone of them. Trust me if we had Fellaini today that Noble would not be strutting around as if he as Innieasta and Xavi combined. We have to be realistic. We are not a top attraction for top professional football players
I don't know why Ole sold Fellaini and Lukaku. We are not playing some quick free flowing football. We are more hard working team. And we really need in penalty box someone who can score a header. When we cross the ball, nobody is there

To be replaced by whom?
I don’t know to be honest. Probably interim until the end of the season. Suspect Solskjaer will be moved upstairs to a DOF position because he’s not done dreadfully in all departments but for some reason either the players can’t grasp what he wants them to do or it’s unclear what he wants from them.

I don’t think he’s the issue personally but we’re at the point again where the manager isn’t getting 100% out of the players.

We still need two summers to address this mess but the board won’t tolerate us languishing at Christmas...

To be replaced by whom?
The options Man Utd have at their diposoal are either allegri or Laurent blanc. Which one do the Man Utd fans want. That’s because this is what it has come down to at the current moment.

Front 4's consisting of Rashford (reputation far outweighs his actual level), James, Mata and Pereira don't win loads of PL football matches i don't care who you put in charge of them. They aren't better than the likes of Wolves, Palace, Southampton and West Ham attacks it's just deluded to think so.

It's going to be a long season especially when we're not at full strength but that's what i expected.

Squad depth is the problem. Lack of quality going forward mainly. I’m not in a rush to blame Ole for today, things are just going to take time. I still feel like long term we’re going down the right path.

This is Jose esque. No self criticsm whatsoever.

To be fair, he's not exactly going to come out and say "I was shite, my players were shite, the club is shite." The question is whether he's strong enough to convey criticism to his players and his staff behind closed doors.

Can you imagine Ole turning on the hair dryer?! Nah, me either.

It is the fan factor and the Neville factor. Giggs came in and changed the team immediately. LVG took over and changed it back. Jose changed it too. There is a reason why players like Fellaini are needed when teams have no other options. He is not a plan A but a good plan B. I would take Fellaini over Mata any day. Especially when we are struggling. Ole really needs to go and any decent manager that comes in will get them to play better football and certainly in set pieces and try to have a plan.

No it’s not.

Jose would have blamed the players for not following his instructions while talking about his medal haul.

Solskjaer knows we shouldn’t be losing these games but what else can you say? Don’t understand why people jump down his throat for everything he says when we’ve had previous managers who’ve said way worse things.

He was never the right choice, sacking Jose was a big mistake too.

Sacking a proven world class manager and not believing in his experience, and hiring Ole, never the right choice.

This needs to be here. Again and again, he's to blame for the transfer market as much as Woodward. They both destroyed the squad and reverted us back to where we were in LVG second season. They both need to be sacked asap. Blaming Woodward only without Ole is total nonsense.

Yeah absolutely. Picturing him as a "victim" of the board is the very definition of burying the heads in the sand as he was the one who let the squad getting weaker while we are trying to sign 7th CB for a ludicrous sum. Funny part is our defending is not better than the previous 5 seasons (probably even worse) bar the last year(for obvious reasons). We didn't adress our midfield after losing 2 players there and we didn't even get linked with a CM other than the mighty Longstaff in the summer or a RW in the delusional hope that Sancho will want to come here after another season. That shows the intention was only getting the 7th CB all along with neglecting the depleted quality in RW, midfield & attacking areas. If anything Ole is to blame as much as Woodward in the market. The approach of this supposed "rebuild" highlights the incompetence of Ole as a manager. Even Lampard is a much better manager than him.

Im in the Ole out camp after today. Reasons are

No identifiable style of play
Poor tactically
Unable to change formations/styles even when things are not working
Putting constant faith in the experienced players who have time and time again not performed
Amassing an average of 1.19 points per games since March

Sack him now we might be able to save the season. United manager that doesn't even care about possession is not worth waiting for to complete his project. It doesn't matter if you have Maldini or Ferdinand if we don't practice how to keep the ball and pass in the attacking half our defence will be in trouble. Nearly 1 year is enough why should he be trusted with attacking reiforcement if he didn't improve our style of attacking already? Sack him now and let's get a proper coach regardless of boards separate fault.

We have to invest heavily in January to redeem this season. If they don’t do that we might as well fast forward to June now.
Who are we getting in January that will save the season? You need to look more long term and not just the next 8-10 months.

Oh yes, do not you know that we have God-given right to win all tight games? Do not you know that there is no such thing as managers fault? It is all those bumps on the road that are to be blamed. According to some people having good intentions is enough. It is fecking not. What you need to have is the best manager, coaches, analysts, scouts, physios etc. We seem to have none of those. And yes, the owners suck too. They are doing to us exactly what they did to Tampa.

Firstly that's not been our top four for the entire period, Martial, Lukaku and Lingard have played too. Secondly that's bollocks anyway, this weekend Palace front three was Ayew, Townsend and Zaha, Southampton's was Che Adams, Redmond and Boufal. Wolves, Jimenez and Jota, West Ham, Haller, Yarmolenko and Felipe Anderson. Do I need to tell you where West Ham, Palace and Southampton finished last season with these "vintage" attacks.

Sacking Ole won't solve a thing.
Maybe. But Liverpool were in as bad a position as us, or worse, when Klopp took them over and now they’re flying.

I tend to agree because we’d sack Ole and probably replace him with Allerdyce. But if we get it right, we stand a decent chance

Don't know what to think anymore. It's clear to me that the problem at the club is not the manager, but I also don't have much enthusiasm for Solskjær. I don't think it's his fault and at the same time I don't think he's up to the job.

For all those arguing that sacking Ole will not make much difference, you are right - because the club is rotten at every level. However, Ole is also the kind of manager who makes a bad situation worse because he has no tactical and coaching acumen.

He is probably way out of his depth in just about everything but ultimately its the British first strategy that will cost him. I dont even know what the hell is that about but find it so cringy and laughable that a top team would prioritize players from one country at the expense of quality. There were players out there that were available that legitimately could have transformed our team. Can you imagine if we got Brozovic and Bruno Fernandes? Instead we chased Sean Longstaff....
Ole is not a Premier League manager. Not a single team in the Premier League can afford British first strategy. Laughable.

This short term "quick fix" mentality is what got us players like Matic. We need to buy what will work in a style of play (which also needs sorting) that will suit us long term. Not to get us into the Europa League again.

Exactly.

Convenient that no one is mentioning that two of our best players were out
Even with them in, there is not much pattern or attacking coherence to our play. People need to see that Ole is deficient in that regard.

One question we need to ask ourselves is would either among Pep, Klopp, Pochettino or even Fergie be still resorting to players who proved, during the latter part of last season, that they didn't suit the way the manager wanted to play? Would they accept losing their only senior striker on the eve of the new season without replacement? Or would they prescribe a British first transfer strategy if they knew that their net spend was going to be just £70m? Poor decisions were made in the summer and in just six weeks it's already telling. This club won't move forward if we don't improve our decision making processes and bring in strategic football thinkers at the upper echelons.
