Leicester City are reportedly lining up a loan move for Manchester United's Marcus Rashford.

According to the Daily Mail, the Foxes are vying for the Red Devils forward with Newcastle United and Everton.

the forward on loan ." The 20-year-old made 35 Premier League appearances in all for the Red Devils, but started just 17 times - scoring seven goals and providing five assists in the process.

Rashford netted a sensational strike in England's final World Cup warm-up on Thursday night , a 2-0 win over Costa Rica. The United academy graduate is regarded as one of England's most exciting prospects despite his limited appearances at Old Trafford under Jose Mourinho.

City have burst out of the blocks this summer, signing defenders Ricardo Pereira and Jonny Evans, while they also lead the race for Norwich's James Maddison.

Riyad Mahrez is set to depart the King Power Stadium for Manchester City , with Foxes boss Claude Puel sure to be hunting for replacements this summer.

A loan move makes a lot of sense tbh. Provided we bring in cover for Lukaku.

Would loan him to a side that he’d play Upfront every week.

If it’s as a winger - we’d be better keeping him.

Utter nothing story. The Mail piece doesn't say we want to loan him out, it just says "IF" Mourinho doesn't give him regular football then other interested clubs would. That's it. No substance at all.

Of course teams are interested in Rashford on loan. There's not a club in the world who wouldn't take that deal. Absolutely zero chance we'd do it though. End of story.

No chance, we still need him and he gets enough game time for 20 year old. Massive risk that he will only end up getting the same game time at a loaned club in the PL.

He "only" started 17 of his 35 appearances. At an elite level club at the age of just 20 years old... Why is that made out to be something bad?

I’d honestly go for it.

1 year in a 442 with Vardy up top playing every week.

He could really grow out of the spotlight and with less pressure.

I wouldn't have thought he'd have a clear route to the first-team at Leicester either. He's a valuable squad player so it's not worth loaning him out for a few more minutes elsewhere.

Can’t help think he needs it if he wants to get to the next level. Him and Martial are still of use to us as they are, but they obviously have far more capacity than ‘valuable squad players’ - and a loan for Rashford would either be the beginning of the end, or the end of the beginning at this stage.

We are changing our style, we don’t really have the Okazaki role anymore so who ever plays 10 needs to be a goal scorer or creator, Shinji is neither sadly

He wants to play as a striker I bet most of his starts were on the wing, a year playing as a striker every week would do wonders for his development

Exactly. He’d be back up there too. Managers are always going to prioritise their own players over loan players.

He won't be loaned out. Nothing story.
He's getting plenty of game-time.

Oh I don't disagree with that it is just the media seem to be pushing this whole he needs to leave as he doesn't play enough thing, started with Redknapp.

well if you are talking just as a central striker, he doesn't play enough

Would seriously be a good move for United though and he would get a chance as back up for Kane , Son or Dele along with CL football.

He needs to be a starter not a backup

I don't see us loaning him out.

Minutes played last season (games played in):
  1. Nemanja Matic - 4156 (49)
  2. David de Gea - 4140 (46)
  3. Romelu Lukaku - 4071 (51)
  4. Chris Smalling - 3975 (46)
  5. Antonio Valencia - 3422 (39)
  6. Ashley Young - 3098 (38)
  7. Paul Pogba - 2879 (37)
  8. Juan Mata - 2677 (40)
  9. Marcus Rashford - 2676 (52)
  10. Jesse Lingard - 2652 (48)
  11. Victor Lindelof - 2361 (29)
  12. Anthony Martial - 2337 (45)
  13. Ander Herrera - 2209 (39)
  14. Phil Jones - 2152 (25)
None of our players played in more matches than him and he was often one of the first subs picked off the bench. Might happen if we bring in another attacker and keep Martial but we'll likely be in contract discussions with Rashford soon so we might prefer to keep him in the squad and show he can get games here - even if not in his preferred position.

Would be silly to loan him after he's already getting plenty of minutes here and has proven he can play at this level.

Yeah like Rashford didnt get any games this season . Dont get where this comes from , Rashford played top 5 most minutes this season for Utd .

This:lol: It is really weird whats going on. That said, i wouldn't mind sending him out on loan for a year as a striker to see how he would be playing. Might have gotten to comfortable for his own good here at United and the pressure might be too much for his development right now. Need to improve his stability which a new environment might help with.

There is seriously no point in loaning him to become a backup from our club to becoming a backup to your club. How is it a seriously good move for United?

I still think he would get a good amount of games playing at a higher standard than a club in mid table, with a manager who has proven he can get the best out of youth players, especially English ones.

These teams just want him for depth, they have no interest in his actual development. We'd be better off keeping him.

I'm sure if Puel got him he'd be in the team, I don't think he'd waste a loan deal on a squad player, it's just hard to say where given the changes Puel will be bringing in this coming season
