Fixed that. Don't know why people (person who did the picture) forget the existence of Romero (his announcement was at 1am on 27th July 2015 for completeness). Valdes was 6pm on 8th January 2015.

Yeah I worded it badly. I meant all the big sides should go through, which includes us, assuming we will beat Sevilla.

Good point re the league vs CL and Jose's thoughts, considering he did the same last season, but I still can't see it as much as I want to think we could. Maybe I'm overly-pessimistic.

But as long as it's not City, I'm happy to let our new team gel further for a few months and go all guns blazing for the lot next time around.
Yup, and maybe I'm overly optimistic, but the way I see it, this season's CL should be a priority for us and each of the "big" teams remaining has holes. PSG has Emery and their massive European baggage, Real has struggled this season, Bayern don't look as strong and neither do Barca. We really should have a proper go at it and given it's a Cup, who knows?

That has been reported yesterday. He has finished all his photos and videos with the medical and is just working on Hi work permit. Everything is ready to be announced we're just waiting.
Feels like we've been waiting forerver :nervous:

.........Or maybe the club will just announce Sanchez in the starting lineup against Yeovil.

Which means 5 more days..

:(
This is why i made up a random name instead of using the name of one of our players :lol::lol:

I've seen a lot of Barca this season and a couple of dodgy games aside, they've been pretty much normal for them. Obviously going out of the CdR was a blow, and Messi has been a bit up and down, but I'd still expect them to be there or thereabouts.

With Sanchez you'd expect his signing to give the players a massive lift though, as surely everyone wants to play with better players. If he gets off to a flyer, we'd have a chance I guess, especially with Bailly coming back, Lingard's form and (hopefully) Pogba keeping his more advanced role. Lukaku needs to get out of his mini-rut.

It is sanchez day today! .. oh i hope...

He is eligible for champion league am i right? also, i hope he plays on Friday FA cup :)

Twitter is all about Sanchez. Definitely the best January transfer in Premier League. Who ever decided to bring him in is a genius!
Yeah he can play in the CL. And I’m sure he’ll make his debut on friday. He hasn’t played in a while and it’ll be nice for him to get some time on the pitch.

Loving this transfer. ABUs coming up with pathetic arguments about greed, as if Saint Pep and his disciples do it pro bono. The transfer shows the ABUs that even after they sucked Pep's balls to a glossy finish, we still have a pull and they are hating it.

I don't think an announcement will ever usurp Pogba/Stormzy/OT Tea Ladies but i think the club must have something special planned for a signing of this caliber- i cannot wait for it all to unfold today/tomorrow.

Club has been weird about this.
We have announced signings "subject to medical" and also "subject to work permit issues", this time it seems like we want to check all the boxes before making any official statement.
All that seem’s to be holding this up is the Mkhitryan deal not being done and both clubs will want to announce at the same time. It would be a bit cheeky if we announced Sanchez “subject to Arsenal getting their finger out and sorting out the Mhiki deal”.

From the signings under Moyes, LVG and Mourinho (Mourinho signings in red):

subject to medical
Mata
Rojo
Blind
Depay
Schweinsteiger
Pogba (didn't say 'subject to medical' on twitter (different wording) but said Pogba was having medical on the website)
Lindelof (no twitter 'subject to medical' (different wording) but said it on the website)
Lukaku

subject to work permit
Bailly

no statement
Darmian
Di Maria
Falcao
Fellaini
Herrera
Martial
Matic
Mkhitaryan

Romero
Sanchez
Schneiderlin
Shaw
Valdes
Zlatan

The official site search is crap so might be a few more who said subject to medical but most signings (especially under Mourinho) haven't had it.

Felt Lukaku has been a lot better post-Dubai (lad did need a break) and am confident that Sanchez will really help him. Sanchez creates space, will draw out defenders and is much more aware than Rashford. Also, he's far more mobile, quick and brutal than Mata! I expect Lukaku's goal and assist count to rise! Giroud is far inferior to Rom, I'd say and he too has quite good stats on account of playing with Sanchez (and Ozil). We don't have Ozil, but with Sanchez coming in, Pogba hopefully stepping up another gear and Martial looking better by the game, am quite relaxed!

I think the swap element makes everything more sensitive - just the two clubs treating each other with respect over timing.

In any case, the announcement is for us, the press and the sponsors, not the club - the club already knows what's happening. For all we know, Woodward may be getting a bit of extra cash in by asking some of his favourite sponsors if they'd like to be in the background on one of the photos.

Called in sick today, gonna spend the day training my dog to hit F5.

Sadly I'm really not well but announcing Sanchez will go a long way trumping man flu :)

It's true we don't and we are quite a far way off that but so are United.

Let's talk when United make top four consistently for a few seasons :)
Look fair play to AFC. They earn their own money, they have a long stay manager, who changed the British game. But over his tenure United have dominated. Even our laundry ladies, even our muppets, are in a different stratosphere to theirs. Read this thread, and show us the equivalent Arsenal one?

We can't stop here. This is bat country.

At least it focuses on the football aspect rather than the financial.

Just to balance out some of the muppetry, it highlights some of my own reservations about the move. I don’t care about the financials. Even the cynic in me would say the financials are a great advertisement for the club - that we pay the best salaries going. We’ll turn the heads of all the best players in the world.

Anyway, back to football, I do think Sanchez could be infuriating at times. He’s a bit like Giggs in that when he’s good he’s awesome, but he also frequently cedes possession and misplaces passes, by the very nature of the risky inventive game he plays.

I just hope our fans cut him some slack. He’s not a possession bot. He doesn’t always choose the safest option. And he frequently tries things that won’t come off. If you can accept this and are happy to take the rough with the smooth, then he certainly won’t disappoint.

Saying as nearly everyone on here wanted Van Gaal sacked for forcing players to be possession bots, I think being the opposite, a risk taker will go down well.
