You gotta hand it to him. United fans are fickle because they rate Matic based on his performances and Mourinho for doing well at the club. On the other hand, AshfordLad is the paragon of consistency having rated Jose as the best when he was at Chelsea but turns out he now thinks he was always past it.

Conte has been managing since 2006, longer than Guardiola. You must be upset about that, surely? According to you such managers are worn out by the grind by this point.

I don't think he is a bad player so much, the point I was trying to convey was I don't think he'll be nearly as influential for you as Matic could be for us if both play at their best. If we're making direct comparisons between the Matic and Bakayoko deals I think United have come off stronger.
Having said that, I agree with your assessment of him being a better fit for the Chelsea system than Matic. It's also far too early for people to be judging Bakayoko after one game (against Spurs) where he clearly wasn't 100%.

I guess each of our managers will be worse a year on from now, as the grind of top level management has worn them away further and made them dated. Certainly seemed forced and almost pained to come across that way. Would have made more sense to have a chuckle and move on. There are certain things he has said or done this summer too that make me think he is certainly a bit of a loose cannon as well. Good win for them yesterday but I can't see him lasting the season there.

Apart from last season, all the PL winning managers are managing from years.
Squad quality is a bigger factor than manager ability.

Not interested in the name calling but he's annoying. His antics on the touchline irritate me. Foul his player and he behaves like his dog got Killed.

They managed to screw Liverpool in 13/14 and their ruthless winning mentality is something we out of all other clubs have a lot in common with, bar Moyes and LvG second season (actually think LvG had a bit of ambition and steel in his first season, it all went south the next).

I don't really feel anything toward Conte, I just think he's a bit nuts. He's got that madness in his eyes, like he's planning a slow and painful death for Costa whilst simultaneously thinking up a romantic getaway to Tuscany with his wife.

True but for example where in DM you had Herrera and you now have Matic, its a much better fit for the type of player you need ours is the same. Matic didn't bring the things we needed in the middle like pace mobility drives with the ball etc.
Plus matic makes pogba better, and I think kante not having to cover as much ground due to bakayoko actually having pace is similar and will make him better.
Yeah I think both teams have improved relative to what they need but in Chelsea's case they've also significantly strengthened a title rival.

Calling a United fan bitter after they have known nothing but success for over 2 decades is rather odd. Think about it.
I don't hate Conte, but I did find his touchline celebration for Alonso's second a tad excessive. Celebrating a late winner is one thing, but physically assaulting certain members of Chelsea's bench is going a step to far.
I would have cried rape if I were on the end of that.

It's not that he has none but I personally wouldn't say it's a strength of his game. He averaged less than a dribble per match last season. He used to do it quite a bit more so if he is back to that level then fair play (and part of the reason for this might be that he's more comfortable breaking from deeper positions).
yeah he was like that last year to.
I remember him trying to whip the crowd up when we played at Stamford Bridge when it was 4 nil.
