French League - 'Ligue 1' 2016/17 | AS Monaco Champions!

Napoli are probably the only team in Europe that are more exciting than Monaco (currently).

They're good and have been scoring a lot of goals recently but during that period have been heavily reliant on a godly run of form from Mertens. The charm of Monaco is that almost everyone is playing at this level every single week. Personally, it's not even close that Monaco are the most entertaining team to watch in the world and all others are distant.

Going to have to disagree Napoli of all clubs are reliant on one player. They've played like this with Higuian, then Milik & now Mertens.

You need to watch Napoli more often, they create an opening on almost every attack

The front 4 all chip in for Napoli too, Mertens is on the end of most things though.

Yeah I agree. Nothing I said opposes that. I said that Monaco are more entertaining to watch for me because the consistency of quality is spread more throughout the team compared to Napoli.

Mbappe almost just scored again with a chip. Again, through on goal because his pace is deadly.

Montpelier get one back. Fabinho came on for Germain at half-time to shore things up.

I think he's more talented than Dembele, who's more talented than Martial. If we had Mbappe and Mourinho decided to bench him like Martial this season, I reckon caf would break down.

It's really tough to say. I don't think we should fall victim to hyping players more the younger they are. I'm a huge fan of Mbappe as you could probably find from this thread and watch him regularly. I think Dembele has a dribbling ability that puts him in a very elite and exclusive level of players in that regard. I would say that only Messi and Neymar are better dribblers than Ousmane, and the likes of Musonda and Mahrez are close but not as good. Dembele is a ridiculous talent has shown it consistently at very high levels in different leagues and countries, while basically carrying his former team as an 18 year-old in the French top flight, and Mbappe needs to show slightly more for me to say that he's more talented.

He has a very good end product, something Dembele still lacks.

They're different types of players and I don't think it's fair to compare their end products. However if we talk about end product you have to consider Dembele's ability to rack up assists, and not just compare their respective goal tallies.

That's how I see it myself, Mbappe looks special, really special.

For the league my hope is that Monaco or Nice win it while PSG win the CL.

Monaco look to be a dark horse for the Champions League this season. Falcao is back to his best. And Lemar/Silva/Fabinho/Bakayoko/Sidebe/Glik are all great players.

Think the CL will be too much for them, but I can definitely see them winning the league.

Imagine PSG winning the league by a record breaking 31 points last season, then failing to win it at all this year. No Zlatan, no party.

I already said it but last season was a freak season.

And they sacked Blanc cause they thought "any manager can win the league with PSG".... not so much.

Ligue 1 has many good players. This myth that its an "easy league with rubbish defenders" needs to stop.

I think the fact that Zlatan was so brilliant at PSG and raking up incredible numbers led people to believe that. I think he would have done the same anywhere during that period. Its looking like he'll finish the season on 30 goals for us. Outstanding for a team thats so void of attacking threat. Hes been feeding off scraps for us.

 This is amazing. Actually it's not, it's completely normal according to how this season is going.

Monaco beat Metz 7-0 in October.

5-0 and there are still 40 minutes to go. They might do better than the 7-0 they gave to the same opponents 3 months ago

Boschilia's wailing there almost brought a tear to my eye.

What's the verdict on Lacazette, then? Third season running in Ligue 1 that he has scored 20+ goals, and he recently came out saying he wants to leave this summer. Will he be a serious option for the bigger sides? Should he be?
