Incredible how anyone can say Liverpool played well in that game - it was just us playing pure shite for the most part.

Must win game for us, we could have gotten level with City today if we had taken 3 points today.

We had a better run of games as they did, we had home advantage and they were missing 3 important players: Mané, Matip and Clyne. Also they had a defence with an 18 year old RB who had a grant total of 2 minutes PL experience and a centreback pair consisting of Klavan and Lovren.

How in godsname did we not win this ?

Our midfield 3 have proven to completley useless in top games. Pogba lost the plot completley and he just gifted liverpool that goal on a golden platter.

Very disappointed in this team. Especially in Pogba and Martial who contribute nothing. Also Zlatan does nothing for 90 minutes but wait for his moment to score his goal, I really think the role of a striker should be bigger than that. And clearly Pogba is not talented enough to warrant playing in a formation without a real nr 10 just to get the best out of him. Also Rooney is well past it and should be flogged off to China asap and Carrick is likley the most overrated player in the history of the club.
He did well..he had no support from Darmian....and he was getting crowded by three, four Pool players at times....should of stayed on.

Happy to get the point but, we were our own worst enemy and Pogba being the worst culprit - think he just put too much pressure on himself. Good thing though now is we have a good run of games where hopefully we can put together a new win streak and break into the top 4.

Ugh they were there for the taking today ...

Really sloppy stuff.

Pogba really needs to study midfielders: just pass the bloody ball and move.

Rooney had the worst substitute appearance I've ever seen.
Wasn't any worse than the rest and created the goal.

It's very worrying that we looked very uncomfortable with Pool's pressing. As a supposedly top team, we should be able to control the play better especially at home. We need to improve on this to compete with the best teams in Europe.

Our play at final third still lack creativity and intelligence. There were many times Mata, Rooney, Mikhi were in very good position but they either failed to pick the correct pass or there were no movement at the final third for them to link up.

Draw is a fair result and I believe Jose will improve the team further on the points above to achieve better result vs top 6 team.

the reaction here is so OTT, we played really well, Pogba's mistake and display are a rarity and we created more and better chances.
Err, no. Both Wijnaldum and Ferminho had great chances to win it near the end. We had some decent efforts too but it was an even game. It's frustrating as feck because it feels like such a missed opportunity. Even more so because we punished ourselves through one ridiculous mistake which we failed to recover from.

I don't think any of our players came out of that particularly well. Valencia and De Gea are the only two, I'd say. Mkhitaryan was tidy I suppose. Herrera hit so many wayward passes, Pogba had a torrid first half and sort-of recovered in the second. The occasion got to us.

I really don't understand teams who press criticizing their opponents for playing long balls. How dare you try to counteract our tactic?

This. The issues with Martial this season are heavily linked to the non existent combinations with a left back of quality to assist his own game. Very annoying fans or manager seemingly not recognising that. In Fairness Mou might be planning to address that sooner rather than later.

They still had about 3 clear goal scoring chances where their players were 1 on 1 with DDG. They could easily have killed the game off before you guys equalized.

We simply couldn't handle their pressing game. Pogba in particular struggled to cope with it, as did Carrick and Herrera - though the latter gave as good as he got when it came to pressing/closing down.
With a press on you, you either pass through really quickly with just one or two passes, or you bypass midfield entirely and play long balls straight to your attackers. Our defenders arent good enough to do the former, and we didn't start doing the latter early enough in the game.

You wasn't at his best today. Not relieving Pogs from his Lovren duties sooner, thinking for the 10th time Rooney will be our saviour only to be proved otherwise....Fellaini was prob his best move.

I don't see where they played this amazing pressing game. I thought we played some good stuff and and avoided their press in a lot of situations. Actually, a lot of time we bullied them off the ball.

The majority of the stats after the full 90 minutes are in our favour. We had more completed passes, we had more possession and more clear cut chances. I know, stats don't win you a game, but this is against a Liverpool side who have dominated possession in most of the games this season. They set up defensively and that is a compliment to this United side.

I said it before, the fact that we are all treating this like a loss says a lot about the ambition of this United side. We are back and we are still unbeaten don't forget. OT is a fortress again and we look like a team which is hard to beat.

Hell, a few seasons ago we would have crumble after that goal. Keep the positivity, guys!:):smirk:

Liverpool were shite and created nothing; we were shite but created stuff. Will take a draw given how long we were trailing for, but we really should have won that.
What game was this ?

I clearly remember your keeper making a few important saves. I also clearly remember us having more attempts on goal and more shots on target. United also resorted to the long ball . We still tried to play football.

Our young right back arse had gone and you never exploited it as you should have ran his arse ragged.

It was a fair result. End off.

How United lasted until the end without getting a booking is beyond me.

I'm gutted by both the performance and the result.

A win would have done wonders for us.

I just hope that the players get a bollocking from Jose and we get back to winning ways in the next few games.

The same problems have cost us all season. For their goal what on earth is Jones doing to gift away a corner and then Pogba gifts them a goal thinking he's playing basketball. Then we are so poor at finishing chances, even for our goal we hit the post (for the 30000th time this season) before finally scoring.

The reason we are playing catch-up with the top 4 is because getting the ball in the net for us is so hard and then we make daft mistakes at the back to give away daft goals. It's frustrating when you see Spurs, Chelsea and Arsenal all getting shitty deflected goals yesterday too.

Still, there is character in the team as we showed to get level. Also, the inconsistencies of players like Pogba, Mkhitaryan and Martial is what I'd put the poor finishing down to. I have no doubt those players will improve massively and we can still achieve something in the league this season.

Really disappointed with the performance today from pretty much everyone. It was a pretty ugly game that neither side deserved to win. Liverpool's ability to spoil key games is still flying under the radar. I can see why they do well in these tougher games, and then turn on the style in others.

Martial versus their young defender looked a mismatch, but he didn't make the most of it – nor did anyone else. Rooney when he came on that side was awful. His instincts are still good for coming up moments in the final third, but he struggles to do so much fairly basic stuff.

All three of our starting midfielders were really poor and Herrera has looked on a downward curve for a few weeks now. A week or two out of the side may do him some good. He's a lot of effort but not much else right now. Decision making with the ball and his passing continues to disappoint.

Pogba didn't take control, but football is a game of fine margins. Score his great chance and things would look completely different. Managed to resist getting into a shouting match with a woman outside the railway bridge who was telling people that if Mourinho picked on merit, Pogba would not even make the bench!

We missed Carrick second half to really set us up to dominate. Disappointed that he was the one to make way at half-time.

We've still got an issue with most of our play coming down the left with little threat from the right. Valencia was forward so much, but was underused by his teammates, but we need more out there.

Klopp's such a disingenuous twat. Very poor sport.

At least today Mourinho credited both teams.

Jeez... I wanted 3 points badly but it wasn't as shit as some are saying. We outplayed them in every respect. Just a shame Pogba wasn't better.

Extremely entertaining too
Thats a bit far fetched

They did play well considering they were missing their 2 best defenders, their best attacking player (Mané) their second best attacking player in Coutinho only played a few minutes, and you were home.

Were they brilliant? No. They weren't shite like some are saying.

I know you want to keep Mkhitaryan on the pitch, but he was absolutely wasted when he was put in defence, with Rooney basically just in the way in front of him.

The only criticism I have of Mourinho today is his continued insistence on playing donkey Darmian at left back.

Didn't take advantage of the width when they were using the diamond. So many times Martial was 1v1 but we didn't make the pass.

He created the chance that lead to the assist for the goal ffs.

He was fecking tumescent. Useless. Rubbish. Abysmal. Dire. You name it.

A Man Utd legend but let him get his 250th goal in a cup game and get him the feck out.

Vital that we didn't lose that. Losing our unbeaten run and letting Liverpool go 8 points ahead of us, staying 5 points within Chelsea would have been gutting.

Liverpool played well, they had a game plan and it worked. They could easily have won the match and it wouldn't have been undeserved. First half they had us ragged, we couldn't cope with the pressing, but even then we could easily have got a goal or two. Second-half we were better overall but it wasn't pretty, we had to dig deep for the point. Not long ago we would have capitulated in a game like that.

So I'm feeling relief more than anything after that.

Bit disappointed with todays performance. Liverpool always push up and pressurise, but they've been found out when teams attack with lightening pace.
Should have played Rashford and Martial on the wings. Instead we tried to play through the middle, and didn't get anywhere with their constant pressurising.

Yeah he sabotages almost every move. Involved in the goal, fair play, but that's no excuse for fecking everything else up.

I know its the pain of the post match and all, i.e. now 4 points behind top 4 when it could so easily have been 2. And now not even a 'winning run' (tm) to fall back on. But, since Spurs, this is the first time you came up against a proper team. Not Hull. Still inferior players to the likes of Ibra and Mikhy, but a proper team nevertheless. If you can't see what went wrong today (other than the opposition was shit/lucky/Pogba had a mare/etc) then I don't think you will until you're sitting in 6th on the last game of the season wondering how the feck you didn't crack top 4 at least.

The one thing that will really help is if for once some of you examine the top 6 table with impartiality and see who's on top (Liverpool) and who's rock bottom (Utd). And then ask why. If the answers don't contain lucky/shite/Pogba then that's a first step.

Dying minutes of the game you saw how he kept delaying the pass, let Liverpool get into position and made the task harder

Martial got no support down the left. Darmian is somewhere between just not good enough and a liability. Either Shaw comes back and makes the left back slot his own or Mourinho will be addressing that deficiency.

Other than that, we didn't play particularly well but we got a point, we are hard to beat and the odd bump in the road aside - like today - this team is definitely improving. Mourinho will get us where we want to be given a bit of time and patience. Given the amount of those commodities we wasted on Moyes and van Ghoul, we can afford him that, I think.
